No, because we would have heard about Steve's head exploding at some of the screwups that have happened in the past few years.

I'm starting to wonder how bad it is using Windows, or jail breaking. Given that the first time I jail broke an iPhone, I bricked it, that says a bit about the frustration...

There were plenty of screw-ups under Steve. OS9 -> OS X was so bad Apple had to give away the first upgrade of OS X. The Cube was cool but a disaster. Launching the iPhone without an app store thinking "Web apps are the way to go". Lunching the iPhone with 2G when 3G was available in abundance.

Nothing really different. Some direction shift but overall it's the same old Apple. Take off your rose colored glasses!

And yes, I'm an Apple fan.

But Steve knew how to hold an iPhone properly.

"This is still Steve's company. It was born that way, it's still that way. And so his spirit I think will always be the DNA of this company."

After using only Apple products at home (at uni and work I still use Windows, but Windows 7 and XP) I thought the same that it can't still be bad. The other day though I helped my mum move over to an iPhone. On her computer I wanted to put on iTunes, bare in mind this computer is only a few years old, running the latest windows and has similar specs to my 1 year old MBP. As soon as I opened the browser and went to do a search for iTunes it crashed / became unresponsive. I tried the old control, alt, del way of sorting things out but it never showed up, so I opted to just restart the computer, as I did the control panel showed up, too late though. Bare in mind this is a well specced computer, hardly used, has no junk installed on it at all, and is pretty much brand new and running the latest software.

On to her phone, it was bad, again it was slow, it was clunky to navigate, and at one point I had to reset it after taking out the sim card and re-inserting it, it took 45 minutes to reboot, 45 minutes.

I bought my mum a galaxy s5 when it was released, because she is used to android, and I had to transfer his files, adapt settings... Man, that thing started lagging since minute 1, I couldn't even believe it. Now I clean it and do a maintenance once a week and restart it, and it works just quite bad. I have had iPhones without a restart for months and they work as good as when they came out the box, all of us know this.

One of the reasons my mum got an iPhone was because she kept getting these Android phones (high end ones as well) that used to keep breaking and I could never solve the problem. I told her to get an iPhone and things won't go wrong, and if they do then I can help her, and if I can't the Apple Store can.
My friend got a Galaxy S5 last year, within a month his battery bulged and the Samsung store refused to replace it for him. It cost him £40 for a new battery.

I wonder what Apple is trying to achieve by offering this look behind the curtains. Don't get me wrong, it's interesting stuff, I just don't understand their motivation for taking the initiative in doing this. It's not like they need to grab the extra attention to boost christmas sales.
People still have time to return their Samsung gift stuff for Apple...

Thanks for the commercial 60min, I just bought an 3 iPads and 5 watches ...

I watched it and the entire interview was light on the fizz. It was disappointing. Rose continually repeated quotes by Cook and Ive - "You mean to say that its half the diameter of a human hair?" - "You mean, no one is allowed in this room?" - "You mean to say you use prototypes of different phones before you select the one that's right".

And other earth shattering quotes like this...

If you follow Apple like we do here, you will not learn anything new about the company from this interview. It was interesting though to hear about the tax code requiring 40%, the amount of business done outside the US, growth of the Chinese middle class and the lack of skilled labor in the US to perform this work. (although denied, labor cost is part of this as well) All of these things could change over time.

I think many are aware that the corporate tax rate is 40% in the US, that is not new, its been in existence since the second world war.

Seems like they did a horrible job of hiding new products!

When he was showing the different size phones to show how they determined the best size/fit, was anyone else thinking "now THERE are some Apple collectables that would be cool to have".... I wonder if they were working phones. I bet they were, with a number of employees using them daily to give input on preferences.

"a team of 800 engineers and specialists working on the iPhone's camera."

Really? 800 people working on the camera?
Throughout every aspect of design, engineering, working with the manufacturers, software integration, etc. That makes sense.

It's all about trying to control the narrative. I'd like to see Apple do more of this though if Cook is unwilling or unable to talk generally about iPhone supply chain I'm not sure how much it will move the stock. The stock has been sliding all because analysts are fretting about iPhone sales. Nothing in this profile last night addressed anything about iPhone. And watching CNBC this morning the focus seems to be all about Cook's tax comments. If that's what Apple PR was hoping for I question why. Why restart this discussion now?

Rose colored glasses? Hardly...

I get so damn frustrated at the farking changes they have made.

Hiding the shuffle function. No ability to just connect headphones to my iPhone, hit the control a few times, and have music play.

So many 'little' changes, and they are adding up. Farking iTunes is a farking MESS!!! I've got podcasts that are all sideways because 'something happened'. I actually wiped my entire iTunes database on one system, while on a call with Apple Support, and it was STILL sideways after being rebuilt! Rebuilt, not restored...

My iPad is S--L--O--W, my iPhone 6+ is S--L--O--W, my Mac Pro just goes 'out to lunch' at times for no reason that I'm aware. Like just this morning, I was trying to look at a few emails, and I clicked one, the preview popped up, clicked another one, and nothing. Mail was 'out to lunch. I waited a minute, or so, and still no movement. That is a new 'feature'. Had to force quit it. Occasionally, typing in Mail, or Firefox just lags handfuls of seconds on all my Macs...

I can't help wondering if Apple is building timing loops into their software to deliberately slow them down to make people buy new. I know that's a Donald Trump sized conspiracy theory, but an iPhone 6+ shouldn't be showing signs of strain under the new updated OS. It's just over a farking year old!!!

And, yet, I remember the problems with Windows and their phone OS. YIKES!!!

I guess I'm just disappointed, or becoming a flaming ****** as I get older...o_O:eek:
