She's getting this for Christmas. If she won't even use 32GB there's not point in getting 64GB. The $100 her parents save will probably be used for something else for her.

I can not believe the advice being given here. If you can get any size of Touch why not get the 64 gig version. . . . since it is a gift go for the larger capacity so what if it isn't filled up. Is is a crime to have unused space on a flash drive? :)

It's rude and inconsiderate to get one's parents to spend money on something (an extra 32GB) it if most likely won't be used. The argument "You're not paying for it so get the 64GB even if you won't use it" is disgusting, frankly.

Go for the higher capacity if you want to future-proof it. Getting 32 might be short-sighted.

My next phone may not be an iPhone, but I may get a 128GB iPod touch as an alternative in 2012.

If a product doesn't cost the user anything in the first place, resale value is 100% profit. Go with the 64.

It costs the parents' money. Thinking about "resale value" when discussing a present from your parents is plain disgusting.

Actually, the $100 could be used by dad to invite mom to a nice dinner.

I agree.

Ok, well the $100 that will be wasted so that the she can have more resale value will be used else where.

What other files? Several Versions of Windows starting with win 3.1 including all the service-Packs? Sorry but that sounds pretty ridiculous to me.

Stop confusing her. 32GB is more than a 13 yo girl will ever be able to fill!

I have an older 60Gb iPod classic and its about 49gb full now (pictures, movies, etc).

I just got a iPT 4 and immediately filled up 14GB, but did not include all the items my iPC has (I will put more in)

Some things to consider: New cameras. 720p video and 1024x768 camera. Those will fill up space fast. Also can do voice memos. And then all those apps.

32GB at least, but would not be surprised if that is filled up after about 1~2 years.
