I just bought a new macbook pro in January. So I am now officially waiting for the Haswell processor. Anybody else?

Haswell??? The never ending wait for newer chips. I bailed on that at Penryn, :p
Where is Haswell in the grand scheme of things? Never heard of it..

You got to be kidding me right? Haswell? I think ill enjoy using my mac while you wait for your Haswell. Add to your list with it USB 3.0, Firewire 3200, SATA 6.0, PCI Express 3.0.

Then no more hard drives. All SSD but not just any kind of SSD... nooooooo. The ones that are so fast they need PCI Express 2.0 or 3.0 cause they are too fast for SATA.

Methinks this might be a thread poking fun at all the "Unofficial 'I'm waiting for insertcodenamehere' thread" threads that have been cropping up :p

You are going to have to be one patient person. I presume by Intel's roadmaps that we won't see Haswell, well after 2012.

How did you get such a long signature jav6454? If I try and add any more characters to mine it says "Your signature can not be longer than 300 characters including BBCode markup." You seem to have lots more BBCode markup than I do though.....

I'm a Demi... Click me to find out more.

More like the "I'm getting Haswell when my Penryn dies" thread.

I see what you did there....

Good....Lord...3 years is very far away. Are we going to be down to 16nm architecture or 8nm?

16nm is the reached unofficial consensus.

Bahahahaha, I laughed real hard when I read this. :D I do agree though.

Wow...that is SMALL. How much power we talking about now? I guess the real question is, can I use a hand crank to power my MBP??

I think the power consumption is going to be around 25W or less. Many think its going to be same as today.

Remember, its even more transistors, capacitors and resistors. So i highly doubt smaller design will be a huge impact on power consumption.

Well Haswell is cool and all but I'm waiting for a quantum laptop that reads my mind instead of having a keyboard:cool:. And I'm not so sure about a 16nm die, they said that tunneling was a significant problem around ten... unless intel has invented electrons that only do what they're told.

Honestly I think these "waiting for" threads are ridiculous. This is a mockery that will probably turn in to an actual thread.......
