Tmsc chip?
Idk I ran the thing about chips and it showed me the Samsung s-8000 or whatever bs.

This phone just has great battery life. I also don't use every single feature such as background app refresh and parallax. Maybe that has some to do with it as well

I've had that sort of usage, too. Most of it is my Apple Watch, though, or phone usage with the screen off.

Yeah like I say I don't use all features either as I have them turned off. Such as background app refresh and parallax as well as location services when not using it and mostly wifi off

But still have worse battery life than even the 6 plus. Let alone the 6S plus.
That's what I'm talking about, the 6 plus actually has a larger battery than the 6s plus, but both are much larger than those smaller Android phones. For a fair comparison you should be comparing the much smaller 6s to them.

No what I'm saying is that the 6 plus has better battery life than the note 5 and nexus 6. Although the 6S plus has a slightly smaller battery than the 6 plus I've found the battery life to be the same roughly.

Have you turned on ad blocking and tracking block? You can cut downloads to a fraction and speed everything up. Some sites add literally dozens of ads and tracking software. These eat up battery as well as slowing you down and increasing data usage.
How can I turn this function off ?

Edit: I just found it. I hope this saves some juice. Thanks for the tip.

Not exactly battery related, but I love how iPhones are very quick to charge and long to drain. No need for a fast charging gimmick that turns your phone into a hot plate.

I agree. The fast charging gimmicks needs to stop. I use a iPad charger like most Apple pro's do. I never have to leave my phone on the charger over night. By the time I get out the shower and get ready for bed. My iPhone 6s Plus is fully charged. So I take it off the charger. When I wake up in the morning I still have 98% or more.

I was suggest turning this on to save juice because it prevents the downloading of large amount of content on each web page. When you have like 28 ads and trackers download along with the page content you actually want, it really increases radio time, data use, and screen on time as you wait.

What "gimmick" are you suggesting? If you are referring to use of iPad chargers, this is no gimmick. That's all I have used for last three years. It does not hear up my iPhone 6s Plus unless I am at same time playing some graphic intense game.

Using the iPad charger is completely safe and approved by Apple. If your phone is hot and you are not actively playing a game I suggest you have a runaway app using your cell radios or are in midst of massive download like I experience for about 15 minutes when I first set up this new phone.

I believe he is not talking about using a iPad charger. He is talking about phone makers like Samsung and LG. That advertise fast charging devices.
That will eventually fry your battery.

Leaving phone on charger does no harm. The phone is designed to self regulate the amount of current draw from the charger. When phone reaches 99% it is only trickle charging and cycles that trickle charge on and off going from 99 to 100% back and forth. You can leave charger connected for extended periods of time. Apple design team have made the charging system on phone bullet proof.

The chargers are even rated for 220V 50 Hz, European current. All you need is plug adapter for socket. No separate transformer is needed.

I am at 7 hours 3 minutes usage, 12 hours 51 minutes standby with 31% left. This is with Apple Watch connected also. Some Bluetooth in the car also... I did the Lirum app and I believe I have the Samsung chip. Seems good to me... Thoughts?

Gotcha, thanks I misunderstood.

Yup, Cjones is right as to what I was referring to.

However my wife did find that when she charges her iPhone 5 with an iPad charger, her phone would also consequently drain faster. Could just be a coincidence that she was using her phone heavier at the time, not sure.

You have 2-hour showers??

I usually take a shower, brush my teeth , cut my finger nails , trim my beard and edge my hair. When I finish I get a full charge to 100 percent from 60% or 70%. When I get home I still have over half of my battery supply.

Ah, your message read like you got a full charge (ie from flat) whilst you showered.

I have a wall timer socket and set it for 4h10 every bedtime. That way my phone gets a full charge without being connected to the charger for 7 hours. I run my 6S+ down to 1% every single day without fail.

Your phone knows when it is full and goes to trickle charge. No harm leaving it plugged in for extended time periods.

I get a Note almost every year for my work phone. I have to turn off gps, Bluetooth , and turn down brightness just to get 8 hours a day. If I use google maps then I get 4-5 hours. On my 6s + and my previous 6 Plus. I can go without charging it overnight and make it through the next day.
Somethings wrong with your note then, My Note 4 with everything on lasts on average of 1 day and 19 hours. Thats 43 hours. If i use the screen heavily i get 7-8 hours SOT no probs.

Tell that to a laptop battery...
Running a laptop off the mains most of the time and with the battery constantly getting topped-off to 100% kills them in no time. Sure the charging circuits have safety mechanisms to prevent overcharging but the battery is still in a constant charge cycle.

My wall socket timer was £8 and takes care of charging in a more agreeable manner.

Thats just wrong. Where is your proof?

The Note 5 battery probably lasts longer when watching video or web browsing with the radios & GPS switched off, but in everyday use no Android device beats a 6+/6S+ for battery life.
