I work for AT&T...Just to let you all know...the only phone that is back ordered is the iPhone 6S+ Rose Gold. Every other phone is still giving September 25th delivery date. Now, as for ATT NEXT, we are making money, we are moving away from two year contract because it is costing us money and it is costing the consumer more money as well. The reason the two year agrement is more expensive for most users is because that is the only way we can make money back on the phone.

I have proof of iPhone shiping times however, I don't think I am allowed to post it...but so far, i am seeing that the iPhone Rose Gold Options are the only ones back ordered until October.

I have a 750 minute mobile share plan, only two lines are smartphones and I use the other lines to upgrade on when they are free. I always did 2 year contracts and in the end it saves me money. NEXT does not save me any money and in the end I'm paying more for a phone. I am going to take my 6+ and sell it for $450 which only cost me 300 at the time so I'm getting paid to buy a new phone. You can't factor in the cost of the line because I'm on a family plan and I only have to pay for my data which is discounted to about 18 a month with my fan discount. Taking away options is never consumer friendly in any business. Leaving your consumer with the option to pick what they want is how it should be. I was and still am pissed off that AT&T removed 2 year contracts from 3rd parties when everyone else still offers it. I have no reason to stay with AT&T anymore

With that said, send the proof to me - I'll post it for you lol

FWIW I have ordered from ATT for the last 3 years. Each time I ordered within 30 minutes of preordering opening up. In each case the shipping date was more than a month away and in each time i received my phone on launch day delivered to my home.

take a breath and relax

I use this exact scenario... 4 lines.. 2 unlimited data.. 750 minutes.. One line used as house phone one is just an empty line. Sell my phones every year for about $550... But new ones on 2 year contracts. Easy and I end up making a little money each year

I would love to pick your guy's brain on math for this. As it seems to me that extra 120$ + tax a year would kill the whole upgrade scheme no ?

I have 2 family accounts, with 2 lines each, 1 account with 2 x unlimited data/txt, 700 minutes, 1 account with just a plain flip phone no data and 1 iPhone with 30$ data. I alternate upgrades yearly....

Probably not the right thread to talk about this.

Hahaha. You should have read my post better. Haha. Okay, let me llay this out for you. First off, I said it saves money for most users, not all. And second:

AT&T Next, you pay the taxes on thee device in store and then you pay off the device over a period of time, well, unlike thee two year contract, the activation fee is only $15, also your acsess fee is only $25 dollars...so...lets break this down even more. If you have 3 lines on your account, you are paying $40 a month for each line that is active. On NEXT, it is only $25 per line. If you want to take into account that you have a FAN discount, then sure, you can save money for a two year, but only if you had 1 or 2 lines, after that, NEXT becomes much more affordable and you can upgrade every year. What you don't understand and a lot of people don't understadn, you only THINK you are getting a cheaper phone. You only THINK that you are paying 300 for the phone. In reality, ATT is making there money back by charging you the $45 activation fee, the $40 a month accsess charge, and the fact that you have to keep that line open for 2 years, which in reality, pays ATT back for the phone you thought you got at a discount. Haha. But hey, My bill only went down $120 from switching from two year to NEXT, but thats just me. After I cancled the two lines that was allowing me to upfrade everyyear, My bill ws cheaper and I only had to have one line on my account. But that s just me.

Any actual news about delivery dates? I read few places that issue is with manufacturing and delays on Plus line. If this is true we are stuck. Just like it was with apple watch. Nothing we can do.... On another hand complaining to ATT for delay might produce some credits etc... (Very ymmv). Any news from any one?

If I end up with two 16GB 6S Plus's on launch day, I'm going to have to sell one.

I made an order at 315am ET for the 64GB 6s+ Grey, the ship dat was oct 16-23. My card got declined and the next day I called ATT with a new card. They charged it but now I have different order number AND my order dat is changed to sept 13 3pm :/ so I thought I may have lost my place in the pre order line :/ Today i looked at my status and it says preparing to ship and there is a pending charge on my CC. So maybe i will get it buy lunch day?

My order has been holding steady with the "Preparing to ship" status and the same Delivery dates of Oct. 16-23. That's on the AT&T website itself.

Odd that the MyATT app says that my order status is "In progress", yet still with the same Delivery dates of Oct. 16-23.

Who knows! lol But I remain hopeful of launch day delivery, based on what people around here say.

Even though I know it’s pointless, I chatted with CS. I was told this:

AT&T : I am very sorry. However, at this time since the order is only available for pre-order we are not supplied with inventory levels. I am also not able to see where your place is in the queue.

and also this:

AT&T : I am very sorry. However, due to the high demand for this new product we would have to go based of the information that has been generated. The order can be shipped out sooner due to the fact that since you have already placed a pre-order, your order has already been placed on a queue.

From this and based on other information that people posted on this and other forums.

Apple has production constrains with 6s Plus models, across the board, not just ATT model. ATT at lower level does not have any idea when they will get the Plus in stock and hence can not provide a real date, 10/16/2015 to 10/23/2015 is just a place holder, because something needed to be provided.... The real ship date could be out from that or could be earlier then that, but I think at this point it is not known by anyone....

It is also possible that Apple secures all produced units for its self first and then distributes them to carriers after there stock is full and that’s why the units sold via Apple.com have an actual launch day ship date.

At this point nothing can be done, as ATT claiming that those are not real ship dates and they don’t have any shipping estimate at this time, besides what system generated. I`m going to step back and stop reading all this forums until around 20th or so.

What really gets me upset is the fact that ATT did not warn users about this shortage and made us believe that if we order early enough (IE 3am EST) we will be first in line for the launch day 9/25.... ATT must at least had an idea that there was shortage and units might have a way out date, ahead of 3am preorder. And for that, if the phone does not come on the 25th, I will be having conversations with ATT. Even if the delay is not ATTs fault, the lack of communication is what kills me.... The whole shortage really came in as a surprise usually its known a little more in advance(from places like MacRumors)

Lets all just wait and see....

Ordered at 3:12am est and for the October 16th - 23rd ship date. Wish I ordered through apple but I received wrong info from AT&T that since I had to pay one payment to upgrade that I had to do it through them.

So after the 22GB unlimited throttle news and the fact that we will get band 30 with this new phones, I`m not feeling that bad anymore about waiting (if) the phones do ship late, in long run I think I made a better choice, by not moving to NEXT and not getting the 6s or unlocked phone.....

I`m still pissed about the lack of communication from ATT side on the whole shippment dates, but not as upset as I was on the 12th at 3:03am EST

Were you notified by email that delivery was being moved up or did you stay home and the package just showed up? Apple always emailed that package was being delivered including the actual date but I'm wondering if AT&T will be doing so as well.

Well Verizon did the math. And that's why as of August 2014 they may the math very simple. Subsidy upgrade with smartphone requires 24 month data commitment regardless if flip phone is used or not.

Just surprised att didn't follow Verizon on that one.

With taxes it's cost me about $13.92 per month to maintain the line. Just BS bogus taxes as usual added. So $144/year. $288 over 24 months. Plus $45 upgrade fee now. So that's around $332 cost.

Att subsidizes u $450 for iPhone. So u still come out $118 per line ahead!

Better yet. I usually don't have to wait 24 months. I get upgrades at month 19. Don't ask me how they determine full subsidy upgrades. Last upgrade I used was iPhone 6 in Sept 2014. Now it says I get full upgrade April 2016. So 19 months.

This is just getting funny, I already got charged the upgrade fee...

Thanks, maybe next time I do upgrade for 7, I will add a line, new throttle deal is sweat so holding on to this account for dear life !

I ordered 2 iPhone 6s+ (64g & 128g) on Monday 9/14. I have a delivery date of 10/12-10/19 ;)

EDIT: Oops, apparently I can't read!! I ordered from the Apple site on 9/14. Not AT&T!

Now I'm glad I did, looks like my delivery date is sooner despite ordering days later :)

What a load of crap. Charging us upgrade/activation fees before we even have the phones in hand. Thanks AT&T.

I've still lost hope in ATT at this point. It took me 6 hours cumulatively to get to a manager there since a supervisor couldn't help me when they charged me $1750 when I should have only been charged $470. I like the unlimited data but seriously what the hell.

I think I preordered not long after confirmation of 2gb of ram. 16-23 October delivery date I hope this is true and I get mine launch day.

But I'll more than live with my 6+ jb 8.4 until then and along side until 6s+ jb.
