More likely it has to do with iOS 9 than anything else.

A user in the JB forums just went back to using his iPhone 6 because his new 6s is in an unbootable state after restoring iOS 9.

Apple replaced my iPhone 6+ last Sunday for the price of a screen repair because restoring to iOS 9 caused a bootloop. The Apple genius told me that Apple is having a lot of issues with iOS 9 and restores right now.

I don't think iOS 9 was really ready yet.

Just curious, but shouldn't this have been covered under warranty rather than you paying extra? Unless the screen was damaged beforehand?

Noticeable lag when I first open apps. Sometimes even the phone app. Totally random. I have 17gb of stuff that I restored from a 6 backup. T-mobile iPhone 6s Plus 64GB Silver.

I'll be setting mine up tonight, but I hope this is just due to temporary background indexing and such.

I didn't buy AC+ with the phone. And any screen damage is generally considered by Apple to be user damage (I dropped the phone on asphalt, it landed screen down), which if I had AC+ would still have cost me.

So, standard OoW price for a screen repair. $60 cheaper then the deductible Asurion would have charged me though for a questionable repair/refurb.

Mine was having CRAZY ridiculous lag when I first set it up. Taps would accumulate while the screen was frozen, then happen all at once 10 seconds later.

It turns out that my new phone had synced my home network wireless settings, which were configured to use an HTTP proxy. I use an app called Weblock to block ads, and it uses the HTTP proxy to do so. Anyways, disabling the HTTP proxy for that network fixed the issue for me. Not sure if your issue is related, but thought I would throw it out there.

Count me in on the stutter, froze up, mess. I have everything turned off (location, spotlight, 3D Touch, Apple Music etc)

No change for me, even a reboot didn't fix it

I finished restoring except for the apps, which will take a while. But so far it seems like everything is working fine.

I've restored but getting this brief pauses and freezes. It looks like i need to setup as a new phone which is a PITA! Why do I have to setup as a fresh phone every time... so many threads of people saying 'yeah, it's ok, do a restore, it's totally fine'.

Is anyone else getting these issues?

I am. And it's so frustrating. I'm going to try to set up an appointment for the store. I even did a restore to factory. I always love my iPhone's but I literally have the worst luck lol. I laugh about it now cause it's almost inevitable that it's going to happen that something is wrong with my new phone every year lol

It's not you its iOS 9, there are tons of users in these forums with the same thing

Ah OK, didn't know the screen was damaged. That makes more sense.

I updated to 9.0.1 on iPs+ and it still has an indicator on settings app showing there is an update. I rebooted it numerous times. The lag and this...yeesh!

So I am still having minor pauses when I unlock. It's the same as before. Not too annoying but it's enough to be. Lol. I'll wait it out and see if a software fix does it or maybe I need to do a restore. Wipe the phone, restore from 9.0.1 and the restore my backup. I did a restore and then update to 9.0.1 after I got my phone. Who knows.

So I am noticing a few things on my new 6S Plus.

If I am on the lock screen and unlock, sometimes it acts like it didn't take and sits there for a second and boom, it then unlocks. Also noticed that sometimes when I unlock, the screen is frozen for a second after unlock and the bar with the info at the top is missing then comes back after it unfreezes.

I am assuming this is a software issue right now and hopefully it will get worked out. It's very weird.

I restored from a backup, from iTunes.

I am getting the EXACT same issue! Restored from a backup from iPhone 6. Any workarounds so far?

Thanks for this. I've been having the exact same problem. Couldn't turn off the proxy - it just went back on again - and so have disabled wifi for now. This might explain why the phone responds fine after initially starting up (before it connects to wifi). Strange fault though and hope everyone else gets their issues sorted. I may be back.....

Safest way to test is to whipe the phone totally, connect to wifi and just test unlock the phone.

If it still stutters, its an OS issue

There are the usual things that people say to try but it doesn't work. I haven't done anything other than turning my phone off and on. Was fine for a bit then started back up. It's most definitely a software issue. Could be a glitch with iOS 9.0.1 or it could be something in the backups? It's anyone's guess. However, people have done new installs with no restores and it still happens.

Good to see (relatively speaking), that it's the 6S and the 6S Plus

same as everyone here. I just rebooted and now its ok. if this happens again then yeah thats bad.

Also, does anyone have this issue where if you close all apps and just slightly tap the Mail app, it doesn't do anything. You have to tap it again. If you do a bit longer tap the first time, it still works. I tried moving the app to different locations and our still does it.

I set my 6s up as a new device. Had a little lag here and there but the most noticeable thing is when I unlock the phone the status bar takes a couple of seconds to show up. Doesn't do this every time but usually after the phone has been idle.

Mine does this on LTE with wifi off. Rebooted and it went away for a while and now it's back.
