Hey everyone.

After confirming the yellow tint was an issue by reading this thread ( I thought it was my eyes jaundice or something!) I exchanged my 6s for a new one through Apple. Both of the devices have serial number beginning in F,but you can see the difference in the photo. There is hope out there!

the yellow screen is not a 'confirmed' issue based on this thread lol.

Can you try to capture and show the issue here on MR? Or is it something that is not easily reproduced?

Check the pic above (few messages). No i cant do it, because it has happened only few times... I dont know what was causing it, so i cannot make it to happen.

And now we are on ios 9.2, so lets hope things are better.

It is weird. I thought to deactivate the 3d touch and i believe that the screen performsssss far better... I dont have illussions anymore and i dont have discolorations on my eyes. Try it and tell me if you see any difference at the way your eyes see the screen

I had the same experience with my iPhone 6s. I mean, using it the screen becomes more white and not because my eyes get used to the screen temperature. On the other hand, no improvements switching off the 3D Touch.

Dont worry i believe that many problems can be solved with color profiles. Waiting for jb!! Mine is far better with 3d touch off

Please try this at your phone

Run it at full screen and max brightness and tell me if you saw diference before and after this. Do it no for pixels, do it to realize how your eyes understand the colours. I think after this maybe you see the white as the clearest white you have ever seen

Yellow 5s.

Theory: the glass is a bit yellow and not the screen. Point the normal phone to reflect a ceiling light (screen off) and have the culprit phone do the same thing on same light. Compare the colors of the reflected ceiling light.

My culprit phone has a wider rainbow reflection, and a bit yellower light.

Hello there. I got my first iPhone 6s Christmas 2015 and had noticed some backlight issues ( inconsistencies)p as discussed here. So i went to the next store and exchanged my phone without any problems. It was late when I got into the store and I was in a hurry but I noticed something was wrong with the exchange phone's display. When I got home I compared it to my iPad and noticed a yellow tint. It really annoyed me and additionally I noticed I then had the Samsung chip with the serial number beginning with f, while my previous iPhone had tsmc and a D number. Having a new appointment I went into the store again (90kms to the store 90kms back home) and described the issue. I got another phone, same problem+ Brightness was kind of lower than before. I got another phone immediately->yellow..
I think I then got a third phone having a yellow tint again so the genius finally suggested to make an application for a brand new phone. I accepted and left the store. 5days later I was asked to visit the store again. I got a brand new phone and was super excited when I got it and thought about if I'm going to open the sealed box or if I'm going to sell the phone. I decided to open the box and was quite happy, tsmc chip, D number and a clear bright display. About two weeks later I noticed dead pixels, one was read, one was dark + there was dust or something under the glas of the display and under the glas of the camera. I was really pissed off, made an appointment and all they could suggest was to exchange the new phone to a refurb or whatever the phones in the white boxes are. I declined and called apple care. Some minutes later I could talk to a supervisor who was really into solving the problem. Some days later I got a new sealed phone via mail and the promise to get something from the online store for up to 150€ except atv,a watch for free.
F number, warm display, Samsung chip .. But it looked fine at least for some hours until I noticed dust under the display again.... I contacted the store and the supervisor. One of the store managers phoned me and kind of sounded harsh but friendly. He asked me what technical background I do have to evaluate the phones quality in terms of clearance( there was an uneven gap between the metal frame and the display unit), as if I can't evaluate quality without any technical background. He supposed Apple can't meet my quality standards and asked me if I was planning To get a Mac or an iPad pro, so the value of the 6s can be used to buy something from the store. I told him, that I only need a mobile phone and nothing more and asked for a free change to a 6s plus. He agreed and asked if I'm able to come to the store where I got a new sealed 6s plus with the same storage as I had with my 6s, an apple tv3 and a Smart Cover for my iPad Air 2 for free.
So the guys in the stores are really into solving the problems the qualitymanagement employers **** up.

The pic with the iPad in comparison is the first exchanged iPhone I got from the store having the yellow tint.
The rest sre pics from my 6s plus, which I think has the second best display between all the iPhone's I had back in the 3 months. What do you think? I've to admit that 6s plus pics look more yellow than in reality but still the display is not completely free from yellow tint.

Unless my eyes are playing tricks there are swatches of yellow toward the top.

However you are incredibly unlucky to go through all those phones. In 6 years and seven family iPhones I've only returned one phone once.

I noticed those spots but their intensities are depending on the angles you look from.
To be honest: I'm not really satisfied with the phone either.. Should I contact Apple ? Or sell the phone ?

If you are not satisfied with the phone, you have to do what you think is best.

If you want to keep the phone and want to exchange it and can demonstrate a defect in the display, I would think Apple would exchange it.

I'm kind of sick of exchanging the phones. I made more than 1000kms in the past months for this phone and still did not get a satisfiying result.
Do you think the spots are a reason for Apple to exchange the phone again ?

My opinion, a display that is not uniform or is obviously defective should be replaced.

My god! What an epic story man. iPhone 7 will be out by the time you get a decent phone. Lolz.

You posted on here wanting opinions? I would keep the phone and move on with your life. In a few weeks the new shine will come off your phone and you won't care as much anymore.

Still it's something bothering me. I mean Apple makes a lot of money delivering theses phones to customers who accept this quality.

On the other hand, as I said before the yellowish tint is kind of exaggerated on the posted pics. My gf for example doesn't see the spots. Currently I'm lying in my bed, the brightness is turned to max, the room light is quite dimmed and the whites are really really clear.
I often have this. Sometimes the display really appears fine and then sometimes it's blurred and pissing me off.
I put my phone on eBay for 750€ (1.5 weeks old) and getting asked by people who would pay 700€. For a 6s plus! We all know what Apple demands for the phone.
I originally paid for my 6s 755€. I'm considering selling the phone.
Then I think I could keep it and consider selling it before the announcement of the iPhone 7. But no one can guarantee me the display will be better.

Sadly, they dont, its 'within specs'

Iphone never had bigger problems with uneven brightness. Or maybe the bigger screens made the problem obvious, i dont know but im extremely disappointed

Here is what you do. Hang onto this phone until Apple go oled. Then sell on eBay and buy the oled model. Might be a 3 year wait but I believe you can do it.

Been a problem since the iPhone 6 and Apple is yet to fix it even on the S cycle.Almost every 6 series iPhone has this
I had to return my iPhone 6 5 times because of that yellow tint at the top and even now this one still has it.I learnt to live with it.Its poor quality control as the HTC One M9 does not have this. Those crystals at the top are not aligned properly probably because of underpaid Chinese workers

The alternative solution to this problem is AMOLED

I'd hold on to it until the end of the month - assuming 9.3 drops publicly you should be able to adjust screen temperature manually and increase/decrease blue/yellow levels within the OS. Quick and easy.

I find my 6S a tad too warm, hopefully the new OS can let me tad a bit of the yellowy-tint out.

If i'm not mistaken, the night shift only makes the screen go warmer. You can't make it go cooler.

Been a problem since the iphone 5 actually. It's not an Apple problem per se. It's actually a Samsung/LG/screen supplier problem. I have yellow tint on my Samsung TV as well.

However, I think Apple should use their leverage as a huge customer to pressure Samsung and other upstream suppliers to fix the problem. Samsung considers it normal if you call in for warranty help.

I'm currently on 9.3 beta 7 and the feature doesnt solve the problem. Even on the lowest yellow temperature which you can set, the screen is warmer than without the feature. The screen really looks colder when you turn the feature off so the screens standard calibration is not that warm at all.

And to the people telling me to wait until Apple uses oled displays: have you guys seen the Samsung Galaxy s7 yet? My iPhone's White is better than the samsungs White besides the settings chosen for the s7. The colours are exaggerated and not natural at all.
White looks creamy, grey and not saturated.

I like my current 6s+'s display way more than the s7's.
