Upgraded shipping and free case!!

Hey all

Just registered on here and have been following this thread for a few days. I ordered a Iphone 5S 64GB on AT&T and got my confirmation @ 3:10am. I'm still in the processing phase as well unfortunately :mad:but I have been seeing how people have been calling and getting their shipping upgraded. Well I just now called and I was able to get next day shipping at no cost but the customer service lady I was talking to asked if I needed a case for my phone. So I was also able to get the black leather case for FREE!!!!! Maybe this is something you all can try and do as well if you are needing a new case. Just wanted to pass this along to you all

I got upgraded to free priority 2-3 days, but now wondering if I should try to get Next Day. I don't want to be greedy but....
 
Looks like I had an issue with the bank not allowing the card to be charged because I went over some limit by like $10 on large transactions.:mad: Called up Apple, a nice lady helped me out, split the payment into two smaller successive transactions. Boom- email within 5 minutes saying the payment change was completed and within a minute the order was preparing for shipment. Also a free upgrade to next day shipping.

I'd advise those that have orders still pending in the 7-10 day groups to check with y'alls banks or card providers to make sure there aren't any problems. Apple customer service was than helpful in changing the order details while keeping the shame shipping timeframe. :cool:

What did you say to get this? "Uh... It's taking the time Apple said it would take to ship my phone but I'm impatient what are my options?"

I mean bravo, but how did you accomplish this?;)
 
Sorry for sounding like a complete noob, but which number was called for the upgraded shipping? Was it the 1-800-MYAPPLE?
 
Wow, it worked. I'm actually astonished. Delivers Oct. 7-10th. 2-day business class. She said that I was luckier than most because I had a delivery date and that this was the most she could do because of the mass of people trying to get the phone.
 
Got mine upgraded too! :apple: but its still under processing -_-

Yeah I was just super nice to her and she offered the case up to me on her own. I told her how my friends dad got his iPhone 5S on Thursday but didn't tell her his was space grey and just asked to get my shipping upgraded because I had seen that people were doing it.
 
IIRC everyone who went through this same "shipping upgrade" with the iPhone 5 release and was promised "next day" shipping ended up with the "usual" expedited 2-3 day shipping despite what the reps told them and despite what was in their accounts since these ship from China and are shipped in bulk containers.

If they were shipping from a CELLULAR CARRIER in the US rather than from APPLE or from the US rather than CHINA that would be a different story.

You know what, that's what the rep told me that I spoke to. She said they can't offer next day, because the phones are coming from China, not here in the US.

So I ended up canceling my order that I did on the 20th. I got that 7-10 business day time frame as well since I got the confirmation at 8:45am that day. Found out that my local best buy had some of the 16gb AT&T sliver that I originally ordered and ended up getting it there. plus the upgrade was reversed within 2 minutes of canceling the order.

Did you call Best Buy or did you just happen to go there? I've been checking my local BB and they don't even have an option online to check store inventory and I can never seem to get anyone on the phone...
 
Well everyone, I'm crying inside. I don't know where your ultimate shipping destination is, but Apple Canada doesn't seem to be budging.

I tried asking for a free upgrade in shipping, and they told me that I had to pay for it. Oh well, back to the drawing board I guess...:(

P.S. If the status is gonna change from "processing" to "preparing for shipment", at what time is that usually happening?

Do a search for iPhone 5s - click the model u want - look at the second section down to the right of the page - click the link to search local inventory - put in your zip code

Around me there are some Verizon 32GB silver and gold in stock

What happened was that I originally went there to pre-order the phone (it was my's phone who was getting upgraded) and they happened to have them in stock. Best to just ask one of the guys to check it for you. Even better to just per-order it so that you won't have to wait as long
