I'm not even going to bother checking since it appears there has been no changes for anyone. So, if we don't get the "preparing for shipment" status today that likely means it wont ship till' next week, due to the National Holiday, right? But then wouldn't that be beyond the 7-10 day shipping window Apple gave us?

As far as i know, the holidays start on Thuesday (1.10). So there is a slight chance for shipping on monday (30.09)

If it doesnt ship out on monday, there is no way we'd get our phones on the 7th (the 10th on the other hand could work, if the transits fast enough), as the holiday lasts til the 7th and the transit from china takes at least 2days.

This is why I have full confidence. Unless apple wants at least our whole group calling them to complain and then some they better ship by Monday. They better prepare a ton of free cases

Has anyone whose phone has already shipped had any progress beyond China? My UPS status hasn't changed since Thursday:

Has anyone asked Apple how they are handling shipping around this holiday? I'm still stuck in processing so I'm worried that if it doesn't ship fast, they are going to miss their estimate. It would be nice to know what the official answer is. :(

I was thinking about doing that if my status doesn't change today.
 
if it is in ZZ today it will be in Incheon late tonight EST time (Monday morning China time) and then in Anchorage by 5-6pm EST and then Louisville 1am tuesday. Some will get phones Tues Oct 1, the rest on Wed Oct 2.

Stay tuned! Your 5S will be here shortly. Just be sure someone is there to sign for it because UPS is not messing around.
 
I'm in the oct 8th-11th group and I just seen preparing for shipment on my gold iphone and my card has a pending charge.
 
It's probably already been addressed, but what's the usual lag time between preparing for shipping and shipped?
 
Finally my phone has moved from processing to preparing to ship. Orders 3:07 32gb gold att USA from apple store. I checked sat night around 11pm and it changed.

Looks like we will be getting our phones shortly

I have yet to see any of the 16g gold (sprint) ship. All i see is AT&T. 2 friends of mine ordered their phones 3 days after mine and they already received shipping confirmation. I called apple to see what is going on with my order and the rep told me that the phones are coming from the warehouse and i would receive my shipping confirmation tomorrow. For some reason i didn't believe this rep so i hung up and called back to speak with someone else. Low and behold, his story was fabricated because the new rep told me that there is nothing that says when someone would receive a shipping confirmation and the phones are not coming from the warehouse. He said judging by the timeline of 7-10 business days, i may receive a shipping confirmation on wednesday at the earliest. I was pissed at the false information given to me and gave the name of the rep with whom supplied me with that false information. He then told me that there was nothing under my order that shows the previous rep I had spoken to, which meant that the rep lied about everything and never accessed my account to begin with. He apologized and informed me that I may not get my phone until the 8th of october. I don't like all of the lies that apple creates in this mess of a launch. An apology for this is not enough. I doubt if I will ever order from them again!

I don't understand how it's going to ship on Wednesday when they go on holiday on Tuesday. I'm checking my local stores today to see if I get lucky enough to find one. If not, oh well lesson learned. Will never order a launch phone again...at least not from Apple.com.

Just express that you're "dissatisfied" and the rep will do something about it. :)
