Ordered two phones, one has shipped, other hasn't

Ordered the 64GB White at 10:21EST on 9/20. Ordered the 64GB Black at 10:23EST.

Got a shipping notification for the white at 6:03AM today. Scheduled delivery is 10/8.

The black is still "preparing for shipment".

However, the pending charge for both phones has appeared on my card.

not sure if this info really helps anyone. I assume the black will ship later today, and they'll both be here by 10/8.

Well, the transaction may not be finalized until the item exchanges hands but I can tell you that it freezes the amount until they are ready to move. My account has been debited the transaction, withdrew it from my balance and now sits "Processing". My Apple order for a gold 32GB ATT is "Preparing for Shipment.":(
It has been this way since Monday afternoon.:(:(

My not late too. But I told them I was wake up at 3am on 20 and still don't have phone
 
Following my latest call to 1800MYAPPLE, I was able to get the following information:

Apple Reps still have no idea as to what's going on in China. "When they leave the factory, then they'll leave the factory".

On expedited shipping: If you've paid for it, you were fleeced. Ask for your refund now. Apple automatically includes expedited for free.

On how Apple Stores, Carrier/Service providers, and other stores are receiving stock: Apparently a different factory services those orders. The factory that produces online orders, and the ones for retail stores are separate.

I think I want to call BS on the last one. It would be interesting to know how many orders per day, change from "processing" to "preparing for shipment".

This is how rational people think.
They haven't done anything wrong or truly inconvenienced anyone untill they miss the 10th day, which is technically Friday.

I'm going to give them the benefit of that untill then.but I'm keepin tally's of everything everyone has gotten for free so far ...and if they miss it Friday, I'm calling in and not settling till I've got one of each !

Mine too arrived at ZZ 8.33pm Oct 2. but UPS is showing delivery on 10/7. Maybe cos I'm in Seattle. Does anyone know if UPS delivers on Saturday?

UPS only delivers Saturday if it is sent Sat delivery...

Man, I am in Bonney Lake...wish I mine had shipped...

Maybe this holiday shutdown is for real. But UPS is usually great on logistics and I get stuff earlier than expected but rarely later. So I'm still going to be optimistic about my Friday Oct. 4th estimate but won't be too shocked to see that slip to Monday the next time I get an update.

Let's just thank our lucky stars they don't use the US Postal Service. My daughter's iphone 5 case from a vendor in Florida that got picked up by USPS on Sept. 26th has bounced to a couple of their facilities but never left the state of Florida yet. At least, if the tracking info is accurate. The Amazon seller just sent me a new one today and asked me to refuse whatever shipment comes 2nd. USPS, you are ridiculous.
 
An Apple rep just told me that after a shipment reaches "preparing to shipment", it must ship within 24 BUSINESS hours (8am-5pm). Dunno if its true :confused:
 
YAYY FINALLY after 4 tries!!

for those who are calling to get free case/accessories. READ THIS

I ordered iphone 5S, silver tmobile unlocked on Sept 20 at 4:30 AM EST. Status says ships 7-10 days and delivers between Oct 8-11.

I technically am not authorized any free stuff as Oct 8-11 is not over yet. My first three calls were just to sales rep and all this bllah blah...

I just got off with my fourth call to apple. I talked to sales rep and he said all shipments are expedited now so Everyone's order is expedited. GOOD NEWS!! but I still went on about how I woke up at 4 in the morning on launch day and I still don't have my iPhone yet. I asked to talk to the supervisor and she was a really sweet lady. She sympathized with me and offered any case or accessory of $50 or less of my liking. She sent me an email with her info and has asked me to send her the link of the accessory that I want. Sorry if this sounds cheap to any of you guys but I am a cheap college student :D
 
Apple.com Friday, 9/20, 12:07am CDT gold AT&T 64GB is now in Alaska but still showing delivery by Friday, 10/4 by end of day.

I wish! My order has been preparing to ship for over 48 hours. I called apple this morning to ask about the status and was told not to be alarmed. She assured me it was normal and would arrive by 10/10. However, the rep also mentioned something about there being a shortage. I told her I understood that, but if it's "Preparing to Ship" doesn't that mean there's a phone ready to be shipped to me? Her reply was "well, this is a hot item and there's a shortage." She didn't answer my question and instead left me feeling as though there isn't a phone waiting with my name on it and the change from "Processing Items" to "Preparing to Ship" doesn't mean a darn thing.

I kinda rambled, sorry...
