In all fairness I did place my order at 8.09 on the 9th. But I know how you feel as I have a been seeing posts from other people getting their phones who ordered after me. One thing is certain I shall not be ordering from O2 next year. Has to have been one of the most frustrating experiences I have had.

If I hadn't sold my old phone already in preparation of the 7 I don't think I'd be all that bothered about the wait, it's just using an old Samsung that's killing me lol.

I'm pretty tempted to cancel my order anyway, and wait for the Apple Store to have stock, will most likely be sooner.
The upgrade programme via O2 is just a way for them to lock you into another over priced tariff.

I've asked in store and to UK Customer service and they are all saying your anniversary date is taken from when you get your phone. That means anyone on this scheme is going to be a loooooooong way down the queue for next years phone.

I sold my 6S+ and paid off the phone payments when I realised what a pointless deal this is, which will annoy the exact early adopter customers it seems to be aimed at.
Just had a hopeless chat with the. The guy seemed to want me to choose a different phone and not the iPhone - to crown it all when I tried to press on the matter that by not reserving stock for the r

Went on the chat and it was hopeless- he did not seem to understand why I was annoyed o2 has failed to fulfill their part of the contract (which they still tout in their app) & he suggested I go for a different make of phone. Because I was not happy with how o2 has handled the refresh contracts (promising free upgrade yet now not) he wrote "you are just behaving like this is the end of the world"! Imagine saying this to a customer- & to one who has been with them from 2005! Anyway they do this because they know we are stuck in this contract. Advice to anyone thinking about joining the refresh scheme: do it but be wise enough to sell your phone and pay the remainer whilst your phone is still of value! I didn't sell mine as never dreamed they would treat us like this.

I thought I read on the O2 forum that people who had received phones (not many granted) had noticed that their new upgrade date was set to 09/09/2017, i.e. O2 had listened to all the concern about the "creeping" upgrade date, and had set it to the anniversary of when you pre-ordered.

There's definitely confusion. Thats what I thought too, so I double checked and got the answers i put here.
I COMPLETELY dont trust them, and will DEFINITELY not be trusting them to stand by anything, or provide a clear clarification before next years iphone comes out.
I'll sell before the launch and pay off the remainder of my7+ so that I can order with a fresh start on order day.

I got a decent price with Envirofone locked in the day before the 7 was announced. On pre-order day I finally got the website to work and paid off my outstanding device plan and pre-ordered a 7+ Silver 256GB for Collect in Store at 08:30. I was given a collection date of 23/09. My brother ordered the same device for home delivery at 17:30 on 09/09 and he had his delivered on launch morning! At that point I kept contacting O2 and was assured my phone would still be here for 23/09. Getting more doubtful, I managed to reserve at 256GB 7 Plus Silver at Apple and called O2 about cancelling my order. The CS chap told me my order was still "Future Dated Dispatch" with no idea when it would ship. So I purchased the reservation from Apple on the Upgrade Program. Following day (23/09) I got the "Text of Doom" from O2 (Sorry we haven't received your device yet blah blah), so I called O2 CS, cancelled my order, and was planning on sticking to my £35 for 30GB airtime as SO wasn't any better. Kind lady informed me of the "retentions only" tariff they can offer of £25 for 25GB, so switching to that on Monday.

Mis-information from WebChat CS is the biggest issue. Promises your device is in stock, will ship, placing you on the "priority list", personally sending email to the dispatchers etc. All to get call figures and cust sat in the right level I guess.

Found out the other day that O2 CS is outsourced to Capita.....

It does seem that O2 have completely underestimated the situation this year.

I am one of the thousands who were sucked into their offer of the promise of a free upgrade after a year and have been quietly watching the situation in the hope that something would improve in the days after launch. But there has been nothing. It has seemed like the most shambolic iPhone launch ever.

I'm not sure I want to take up the upgrade now and be stuck with them for another 2 years and probably not receive my shiny new toy until about Christmas. I think I'm just going to keep my 6s Plus and hang on until the much rumoured "iPhone X" next year and will take my business to a network who seems to appreciate their customers more.

I just have to accept, which a heavy heart, that this year will be the first year since launch that I won't have a new iPhone.

On the phone to o2 now and a nice lady has just said they're having a delivery on jet black 32gb plus on the 26th and some gold plus's. dunno if it's true but hope it helps someone. They don't know when they're receiving any 256gb black plus's tho even tho I said that some people had been told they were ready for dispatch.

Ooh. Gold pluses. That's the queue I'm in. You've sparked a tiny tingle of excitement in me

I must control myself.

They don't do 32Gb Jetblack 7?

Fingers crossed for ya.

I was due a free upgrade on the 16th of September but obviously wanted to preorder on the 9th, I did so and had to pay £39 to upgrade early. Does anyone think I'm entitled to complain to o2 for that early upgrade fee back due to them not being able to provide the phone in their stated " within 2 weeks "?

Oh god yeah, another lie from o2 then! That's definitely what she said.

Update:
Went to o2 store as advised by the phone operator- the earliest date for refresh upgrades of 7+ is November 30th! It is just hopeless with this company. If I could afford it I would just pay them for next year etc and leave now!

Just had a hopeless chat with the. The guy seemed to want me to choose a different phone and not the iPhone - to crown it all when I tried to press on the matter that by not reserving stock for the r

Update.

Feel like I've been scammed being on this O2 Refresh contract. Very back of the line, not even able to put your name down for when stocks arrive. Very disappointed!

You're not the only one, mate. The problem is they're not being clear about pre-order estimates. They've stated from the off that they're fulfilling pre-orders in a first come first served fashion. That's just not the case. They should have held all further orders after day one on the 9th until they could complete the actual pre-orders.

If i wanted a 7 in matte black I could get it tomorrow, the fact that i wanted a plus puts me in the unknown deli every category, its pathetic in this day and age.

Someone messed up big time, i.e logistics manager. ha
[doublepost=1474870777][/doublepost]Put it this way, if I don't get my phone this week I'm definitely cancelling.
Better off waiting for apple store stock and getting it £100 cheaper as someone mentioned previously.

I was allowed to pre-order in the shop yesterday but Nov 30 date given - the guy said I am 2nd in the queue! So that would mean this shop is getting 1 black 128gb model in between now and Nov 30th.
I also had to pay a deposit.
I told him this is refresh but he didn't even check my old phone.

So further to my post #431...

So as promised on Friday, the lady from O2 CS kept her promise and called me at 08:01 this morning to arrange transferring me from my 30GB for £35 tariff, to the 25GB for £25 tariff. Excellent service. In a time when our experience has been nothing but dreadful with CS, at the end of the call I insisted I speak to her manager to provide some positive feedback.

That's always good to hear about putting the customer first. The shame in this is that it's not consistent across their business and seems to be the exception to the rule.

Does anyone know when o2 are expecting a delivery of Matte black iPhone 7+ 128GB? I preordered mine on 9/9 with confirmation at 8:01 and still haven't received any information about when it is expected to be delivered.

I think there's more chance of getting tickets for a jousting match between Lord Lucan riding Shergar and Elvis riding a Unicorn, than there is of O2 getting stock.

you've not even had a text to apologise? Or to say when they expect to update you next?

It seems O2 haven't shipped a single 128gb Black / JB.

I'm in the same boat, but I've had a text.

I've not had any communication from o2 at all. I've phoned and live chatted with them but had nothing coming from them.
