Oh and also, guys.
If you're thinking that your iPhone will be " held " for you this upcoming Friday then you have another thing coming.
NO store and I repeat NO store is going to know for sure what and how many phones they are getting until very late Thursday night ( after the store closes ) or butt crack of dawn early Friday morning.
The phone's will be all counted and put into inventory by the store manager ( has to be done under their numbers ).
The store manager will then proceed to match each phone up with a voucher, sign them and then proceed to pass them out to the FIRST folks standing out side in line.
Every year for iPhone sales, the store managers only intention is getting people out of his/her store. So they don't care how bad you want it. If you're not standing in line, you won't get it, it's that simple.
The only way you can have a iPhone put on hold is if corporate instructs the store manager to physically grab the phone and pull it out of inventory( corporate will be keeping a close eye on inventory and sales, if they see one lying around for too long then they will know what's up ) and wrap a receipt around it with YOUR information on it because if not then it can be accidentally sold. I have seen it done before during launch and it's straight from excecutive relations for a very pissed off customer, it involves a process. So yeah, it won't happen.
Unless of course, the store manager is willing to put his job on the line for you ( which they won't ) then maybe. Just make sure a customer doesn't see him/her sliding you an iPhone with out you camping in line for hours on end.
This is to the folks who are trying to be all " ha ! In your face I have one put on hold "
Won't happen. I've worked in cell phone retail before & know the procedure.
