Stage 1 Denial: I don't care what the dates say, Apple is super conservative with those and I will get this on launch day.
Stage 2 Anger: Why is there no activity? Apple did this on purpose, I am pissed at every person getting a phone at launch
Stage 3 Bargaining: They can still ship overnight, other blacks are moving now. It's happened before.
Stage 4 Depression: I will never get a JB plus, they don't exist. I can't believe I miss an iPhone launch, first time ever.
Stage 5 Acceptance: You win Apple, I am at your shipping mercy, I will sit back and take it whenever you send it my way.

The crazy thing is when I was able to get on the Jet Black 128gb 7 plus was already listed as Sep 26th-Oct 3rd so I went to the Matte Black and it showed Sep 16th. I was tempted to say what the hell, but I ultimately decided on the Jet. I plan on getting a clear case, but I knew if I got the Matte and saw someone with a Jet later on I would've had buyers remorse. smh.

I'll be good though. Will just try not to think about it I guess. Only a few more weeks.

Just ordered a Matte Black, switched out from Jet Black (mine was showing late October), 6-8 business days for the Matte Black one. This also kind of bugged me a little bit, when using the Jet Black with lots of lights around, it sparkles a lot (below) - Could be annoying if not using a case that covers that up in the front?

Is anyone considering an Apple case for their phone? What about the Airpods?

(yeah, yeah I know our phones have not shipped yet! LOL) :p
I'm considering an Apple leather case. No Airpods for now. I got beats. Me being me, I'm afraid I'll lose one of the Airpods.

LOL!! This is SO perfect.. and so accurate to what we see each year.. What's terrible is that 95% of all people get their 'most popular' phone order on launch day.. or Sat or Monday at the very latest.. So all of the 'emotion' was really for nothing.. unless some people 'get off' on it. :)

For another point I saw being made.. Rarely did people get their emails Thursday night.. I remember reading of a few getting them at 6pm.. But once dinner time has passed Thursday night.. you can probably start your despairing.. It ain't comin' Friday. :).. FedEx DOES do Saturday delivery for iPhone launches. Read about a LOT of them last year.. So you may get a shipping confirmation for Sat or Mon if on Friday.. I remember reading about ONE individual who 'woke up' to a Friday shipping label and got it later that afternoon.. Came in around 11pm Thursday night.

Both of the last 2 years my preOrders with ATT were for a less popular phone.. an iPhone 6, Space Gray 64GB in 2014 and an iPhone 6S Space Gray 64GB last year. Oddly - both of those I didn't see shipping info until Thursday morning either. Not sure why.

Even though iPhone supply was 5 million in 2014, 7 million in 2015 and 8 million this year.. I still have a sense that Apple may have miscalculated the Black phone demand this year... In 2014 I wasn't even the remotest bit concerned that 6+ Gold people were going to get their on launch day.. and 95% did. Same last year.. Zero worry that RoseGold 64GB 6SPluses would arrive on launch day.. But this year.. I have a little more doubt.. Not sure why.. I guess my reading that the AT&T and most Verizon free standing stores were getting ZERO inventory of JetBlack for launch day and very, very thin supply of MatteBlack - like 2-3 total per store.. I guess that's what's thrown me off. Last year - the District Manager reports you read were that there was SMALL supply of RoseGold - but some sent to ALL stores. So.. well... Not to dash anyone's hopes.. and we'll know in 2 short days.. but.... Good LUCK!

I ordered the Jet Black 128GB Plus and Black Dock in two separate orders, and just got two dispatch e-mails from Apples within 10 minutes... But it was just for the dock which they sent twice... :(

I want to reiterate something:

If you search UPS by reference using your phone number it will show any package that was ordered using your Apple account. They list both your phone number AND the order number (including W, minus last 2 digits) so the only way to be sure the tracked package is actually your phone is by using the order number -2.

Also, regardless of what Apple's status says, your package will show up in UPS MyChoice when it is shipped and shows up in UPS' system. It's not going to randomly appear on your doorstep on Friday if it never showed up in MyChoice for your address.

With all these planes flying from Asia to Anchorage (7, this morning alone) you have to think at least 1 of them has Jet Black 7+ phones on them! Please Apple?

Damnit... I have entered stage 3.

The planes from China to Anchorage are already "Preparing for Shipment" and already show up in UPS MyChoice.

When did you switch to Matte Black? I tried using chat to avoid the insane hold times and they couldn't quote me ship times. I know that today is too late for a Friday delivery, but if I switched my order to Matte Black would it ship next week?

About an hour ago (the 32/128 Verizon on apple.com were showing 2-3 weeks but 256 was showing 6-8 business days so it was an easy decision).

Well, I already pre-ordered, so I need to call.

I took the risk, I canceled my pre-order. Waited 1-2 minutes, logged out of apple.com. I re-logged in and placed the order. When I tried to re-order within 1-2 minutes it said there was already an upgrade tied to this number. So I gave it a minute and it worked the second time (also logged out, and back in).

I think most of us have tried the UPS trick and it didn't work. Unless of course we also ordered a watch or something else. For all we know they could be moving them en masse and unmarked as we speak. We would then get UPS notifications in the next few days. once they're unloaded stateside.

In all likelihood you're right. Perhaps upwards of 50% of the phones failed QC. Therefore none of those planes have any of them. It just seems to be a little extreme that only JB 7+ failed QC, yet almost none of the regular 7's didn't.

Yea but assuming that they can produce thousands of iPhones a day, considering that the chassis is the same for all 7 Plus's, and that the differences is basically the paint job, I don't see how they are so behind on orders.

My argument stems from the time they started manufacturing which would be weeks or even a month before the reveal and the counter would be that the Jet Black coloring process is extensive. Question is, how extensive and would it really delay shipments this much?

[doublepost=1473878585][/doublepost]I feel like this whole pre-order process, especially the Jet Black model, has been like that State Farm commercial. Ordered within the first 10 minutes? No dice.

Those that are sticking it out, it's time to see movement for delivery next week. That's the likely outcome. I don't think they will deliver by Friday at this point.

Is there any way we can go back and look at the forums from years past to track the shipping history. I have this vague memory of ordering the iPhone 4S and only having "preparing for shipment" and then suddenly on launched day it appeared on my desk at work with no tracking # or anything. I know sounds crazy but it was a surprise. Can we go back in time with the forums?

The tell tale is always a charge or phone in your profile. All that happens well before the tracking stuff. If they were to show up Friday we would have seen something by now even if there was no tracking. As of right now phones aren't even assigned which means the given dates were real not conservative estimates

7plus 128gb JB ordered at 5am est. November estimate... I dont understand how ordering two hours later or almost week later would still get you the same november shipping. How does that make sense Apple?

They probably will have ramped up production to have enough by then.

The only thing I can think of is that Apple decided not to make the jet black plus and spent the production on the normal 7 for launch. That model probably has more demand and they decided to make that available if supplies had to be limited.

Its unfortunate that they called out the new color at the launch event, featured the Jony Ive video about the process of making the new finish. Then, pre-order time shows up and they dont have the color available for ship at launch. They should have said "Jet Black Iphone Plus, exclusive to 128/256GB - shipping in Late Sept/October" - i feel it was a bit of a bait and switch as they knew these wouldn't be available until after launch on the Plus. But, of course their message to the public is "overwhelming demand", no - not really there wasnt any supply to begin with.

You think they would have ramped up production so that at least one person on this board gets a jet black 7+ on day zero. I have been following every page of this thread since it started and there has not been ONE person to get a launch day estimate. It's being said that AT&T retail stores won't even be receiving ANY jet black pluses on day zero.

Really makes you wonder why Apple timed everything like they did - why have the announcement if the most popular phone isn't ready? Why set a release date if your most popular phone can't meet it? Makes no sense.

And yet here we all are...
