And you are? I just know from previous experience that a label is created by apple and you can track though my choice or reference long before you see shipped. Not going to argue with you, I am rooting for you to be right. There are just usually things you can check before they ship.

Considering a close family member has worked at Apple for 25 years, I would say so. Not to mention I've been preordering since the first iPhone.

Orders placed on the Apple site are direct orders. These appear to be getting prioritised over delivery to the various carriers.

And it is also coming to the surface that Apple got demand of the plus model all wrong, making far too few of them for demand. Likely due to dual lens.
i get what you mean, but i mean apple is always going to support their store more than people buying on att.com

A friend of mine said that an Apple rep told him, "Said the black ones (not sure if both matte and jet black) are shipping early because people who didn't want to wait as long as it said it would take are cancelling, so they are moving shipping earlier for others who didn't cancel."

No, sometimes they will bring over pallets of phones and leave them in a warehouse here in the US until they transfer into the hands of UPS. Some people last year never received any tracking information until the day of. Like I said before, Apple has a very complex system.

Its been said here and I also think that they gave up on having any in-store stock of the 7+ models so they are shipping them to pre-order customers instead. If that is the case, I think your theory of them already being stateside makes sense.

I was concerned that the AppleCare charge had posted but not the phone. Chatted with a rep, he couldn't give me any more information but said everything is in order. Also verified that they had changed the shipping address to my office instead of the ATT billing address. He verified that. It is just a waiting game, but I never expected to be this far today. xx:11 9/26-10/3 original dates

No, that's not why.

Has anyone with an 2:05 CT confirmation email (5 mins after pre-order) recieved a status change? Specifically the 128 ATT? I don't know why mine has been updated yet and am still stuck in processing hell.
I have a 3:04 email 128GB AT&T and I got charged and preparing to ship earlier today.

Just noticed something strange when tracking with my Apple order number on the UPS site. I entered the order # for my wife's matte black 128 GB 7+ and got the tracking showing it being delivered tomorrow. That was expected. I then entered the order # for my 256 GB jet black 7+ that I just got charged for today and just switched to preparing for shipment this afternoon. It took me to the same tracking page for my wife's order.

When I enter my apple order number on UPS site it tells me to keep dreaming about a delivery tomorrow.:D

I'm really not trying to be rude or anything but it's entirely possible that phones just switched to preparing for shipment could arrive tomorrow. Apple and UPS can transport phones very very quickly. It's kinda like when Amazon partners with UPS or USPS for deliveries the next day. Typically, Amazon does all the movement between warehouses in the US and then hands off the package to UPS for delivery only.

Certainly odd, if it's not the same number used both times by accident. I ordered 2 watches on a separate order, and one phone on a separate order. Only 1 of the watches in the watch order has shipped, and I can find it by order #...but the second one just moved to prepping for shipping today, and I have no way of knowing how to track it. I'm pretty sure it's not in that shipment, because the tracking info was showing movement long before I was charged for the second watch.

But aside from all that, weird.

It's certainly possible, and I hope you're right, but I'd love for some evidence to show it's likely rather than just what we think is possible.

Again, I hope I wake up tomorrow and can search for my tracking # and find it and shows it's out for delivery...but until there's at least an ounce of reason to believe that's the case, I'm hedging my expectations.

I made sure I was using both different numbers.

Same order number? If so, that's why.

like Amazon maybe they merge items/separate orders into one box. That gives me tons of hope! Any chance you are a one day "in transit time" from a Northern California zip code?

They are probably in two separate packages. :(

Yes, UPS can ship one day to most NC cities.

I'm still thinking we may see movement late tonight. I feel they could be at a warehouse waiting to be shipped. There were rumors of that happening before the event.
