Or, they don't want to have to change the search database (again), risking yet another mistake, so have disabled it temporarily while waiting for the actual announcement. One can hope.

That's quit possible.Accidently have a portion of a database up.Realize it's not supposed to be there yet.Take it down for a few hours. In which case the U.S store will have new shiny Mac Pros staring at you when you wake up.

Or after an event tomorrow. Or next tuesday.

If anything happens at all, it won't be before 8am EDT on Tuesday morning. Might as well get some sleep and check again in about 8 1/2 hours...

Aren't those the regular specs?

Haha.

Sorry. I edited my post after it was too late. I'm tired right now. Just did a 1 1/2 hour work out and studying for exams!

Anyways, whatever is happening, it must be on the UK store. Makes sense since probably nobody is supposed to be shopping online at that time of night!

lol im guessing they just a have problem they cant fix atm.all the search stuff doesn't work on any of the international sites ,not even luxembourg's site *sniff*.I'm pretty sure nothing's gonna happen til the US store goes down...which will happen tuesday :D

Let's hope the update is more than just octo.

I just hope this is more than just an 8-core speed bump.

The rumors were for many changes. Possible case re-design, Blue-ray, stokley spec, new webcam in displays, faster graphics cards, faster memory, nand boot capabilities for rapid start-up and faster bootcamp re-boots, etc.

Plus leopard and ilife07 should be free or $20.00 shipping charge to upgrade being this close to a release. Hopefully more details will make all of this clear tomorrow. Maybe we will finally get to use our Apple upgrade vouchers for once.

If they do release the 8 core mac pros tommorow it would make good sense:We order now and they will come by the time leopard is finished, who knows...they might release leopard early.
We can start praying. .. ...now:p

It's all about whether the applications are ready for 8 cores...

AND how much memory is needed for that. 8 cores won't buy you much if the memory bandwith won't feed them effectively.

I don't think this is necessarily true. OS X should scale and handle the 8 cores just fine. Of course you will need sufficient memory but that will all depend on the available memory options.

If you like to keep a number of applications open and actively working all of the time in your normal work flow then even if an individual application doesn't effectively use all 8 cores surely you will still benefit from less conflict between different apps for processor time.

I like how on Page 2 Rumors, it states that another version of 10.4.9 was seeded to developers last night.

My hopes are back up, somewhat.

If Amazon had to shut all their worldwide stores down each time they added a new product they'd loose 3/4 of their entire revenue. LOLZ APPLE. Get your framework sorted so you don't have to down your stores to add products.

I like to see the stores shut down...That's when you have suspense..speculation..panic..frenzy.. and mass hysteria. All of which make for entertaining threads on MR. LOL

just my $0.02

:apple: Rocks.

I am with you. I expect way more than just the speed bump.
Case redesign would be cool. But I understand that the current design still nice. So it might take another couple of years before they do that.

As for displays, a larger than 30" would be fantastic.

I am just a little skeptical about an announcement tomorrow. It feels more appropriate during the special event at NAB. Unless Apple wants to devote the entirely event to Final Cut Studio or the FCP Extreme as rumored.

New Products I see in UK store..

This is a screen capture i see of new products.. Nothing exciting. :(

8 Core Mac Pros tomorrow, shipping in April with the release of Leopard. New MacBooks in early April. Sounds about right.

Whatever draws our attention away from self destructing Macbooks...

Now I need to increase my processor restriction from NextLimit and do some serious benchmark rendering!

slip-ups like that are too delicious to be mistaken as just "typos"...

i remember the old "iweb" thing (where iweb references were placed and then removed)

or the powermacs...

bout time for a homepage refresh and something coming out of apple besides new colors to their ipods IMO
