You're acting rather silly
Perhaps, but not nearly as silly as someone berating people's "lack of human compassion" for criticising what is quite BLATANTLY a pretty major case of money grabbing.

This one.Since when does a broken nose cost $75,000 in medical expenses?![]()
Apple wouldn't be defending themselves in court. Their insurance company would.
Wirelessly posted
This is incredibly stupid, even an octegarian should know that a retail store isn't going to be missing a front wall, even if it is made of glass there's a reasonable expectation that there will be some kind of barrier to entry there. Apple stores close at some point and they can't very well keep people out without a fourth wall.
Besides the displays which perhaps he thought you have to walk through to get inside, not very likely.

If she didn't see the glass, and the building has large glass walls, well what the hell did she logically think was holding up the building? Because she did try and walk into it. Maybe she didn't see the building either
I can't believe any lawyer advised her she would get anything out of it. She might play the frail old lady being harassed by the evil corporation angle though I suppose.
Guess what, some people can't see very well, especially when they're 80. Apple can't put death traps all over their stores. No different to putting pot holes where blind people walk, or spikes where wheelchair bound folk roll. Tim Cook might as well have smashed her over the head himself.
Criticising? I'm pretty sure what upset the OP is how people in this thread are whishing for further misfortune and even death on this woman. I agree, some of the things people wrote are simply disgusting, regardless of what this woman is doing and I myself don't think the lawsuit is reasonable.
I'm surprised at the bile here (ok, maybe not surprised, but disappointed).
Large glass windows/doors injure lots of people that aren't expecting them to be there or can't see them. Arguing that the lady should have been looking for a door is a bit harsh - lots of stores have open doors or automatically opening doors, so you get trained not to look for handles etc.
It is possible that the design and layout of the glass made it difficult to notice when the door was closed and that she injured herself as a result. It doesn't make her an idiot.
Yes, this does sound like a frivolous lawsuit, but no need for quite such hatred.
I work with the elderly 48 hours a week and I don't know of any 83 year old I work with that would do something like this. Not saying there aren't any that wouldn't but I would label that person an idiot no matter their age.News flash for you, when your 83 years old, your somewhat more frail and not as aware when your a smug young ****! lets see how you are doing at 83 if you make it that far.
At 83 to walk into something is not dumb, go spend a day in a retirement centre doing some community service to realise how older people struggle with basics.
Yup, its sad to be part of a society, where people are smug, self centred arrogant douchebags, who just think of themselves and have little respect for the elderly! You did not become a bit dumber as a result of this, just more of a douchebag!
No she does not deserve the money! Though she did break her nose for godsake! That does not make her stupid! Greedy and stupid are two different things.
Guess you haven't been to England lately. All you see on the t.v. during the day is commercials for lawyers. I know Americans are major Dbags but we didn't invent it.... remember most of our people came from European countries such as Denmark.....only in America.....![]()
"Breaking Bad" reference for the win!!!

Had the woman simply walked into a door, and broken her nose, then I have no doubt people would be much more sympathetic.
All actions have a reaction, and peoples reactions here have nothing to do with her being hurt, much more to do with her trying to make an easy buck out of something that is her own fault.
After having taken that action, I'm afraid she forfeits the right to expect people to react sympathetically towards her.
