I use it almost exclusively to set reminders and appointments, as it's pretty good at picking out dates/times, and it's much quicker to set them that way.

It's not very good at picking out my Scottish accent though, so I rarely use it for much else. I end up spending as much time editing what I dictated as I would just writing it in the first place. Things like checking the weather work ok, but I imagine those kind of commands have specialist handling to pick up on variance.

I use it but had a bad experience Saturday night with it. I asked Siri to call a number and nothing happened. It happens right? OK so I tried it a few more times and those times worked. After hanging up and continuing to drive, I'm suddenly hearing a number ringing and then being answered with the normal prerecorded greeting.

Yes, after ten minutes, SIRI dialed the first request that I made to call the number even after it called the number two times after.

This is entirely expected. Siri is truly revolutionary technology improving the lives of tens of millions of people around the world. I use Siri hundreds of times a day to setup alarms, create reminders, lists, dictate emails, and notes, and get rapid answers to important questions.

I'm glad you find it useful. However, that's not what the article was about. Obviously not everyone finds Siri as addictive.

still can't get over talking to a phone... feels weird.

To me, this is a non issue when I'm alone in the car during a commute (usually 15-20 minutes every day) and I need to send a text, change the song, etc... in a safe manner.

Also, when I'm getting ready in the morning I ask about the weather right as I'm going through my closet...

Other than that... yeah, I don't talk to my phone much :p lol

For me it's nearly useless. I try it every other week to see if it works better but more often then not I just type manually as it ends up just frustrating me. I have no accen so in the end she just bums me out from lack of functionality.

If you slow down your speech, her accuracy shoots up like crazy. Imagine that you're talking to a very bratty 2 year old that lives in your phone :D

I only use Siri for short text messages that all.

It would be better if Siri can get locations in the UK.

Stay in shape with Siri

Siri is one of those essential tools for staying in shape for endless arguments with the other woman or wiminz in uour life.

I especially love her almost disdainful and annoying tone...its so realistic that when I hear her, it makes me instinctively want to burke the phone with the nearest dirty pillow.

I use siri often, I don't know why anybody criticizes it. It is right 90% of the time for me. Most voice recognition software aren't even usable they are so bad. (Not including dictation only software) Why do people hate at apple so much? It's not like they claim it does everything...

An important question to ask here is the % of these people who had purchased the iPhone within a month. The reason I say this is because everyone tries Siri when they first buy the iPhone, but by a couple of months into owning it, they may cease to utilize the feature.

I bought my 4S within 2 weeks of its release and I use Siri more now than when I bought it. I use it mostly to add things to my Grocery, to do, and to buy lists.

An Android trying reverse psychology?

Hahahaha... I think those 87% of users are with friends who always ask "so, what's Siri like" to which the iPhoneS user will reply "aw, dude, you gotta check this thing out, watch this..."

And that's the usage Siri will see for that month.

I think they meant 87% ask Siri a question or give it a command only to be told she can't help you right now.

A better question is who uses Siri out side of being a gimmick or messing with things but really use it for more than just to screw with it..

Siri

I have no plans of talking to my iPhone or other iToy that may be able to run it. I'm one of those 13% that have not even looked into using it. In fact this note is the most that I have thought about talking to get my work done.

We'll see who is the last to use Siri for the 1st time. I plan to never being that person because that would mean that I would have to run the beta program Siri.

Siri sucks I'll go ahead and use Siri to dictate this post and I won't edited at all I'm been done with it you'll see exactly how terrible Siri doesn't understand English speech I don't know I use it about once a month or so and invariably I want to Abingdon at the heck out of anything and tries to say so they need to work on Siri seats recognition because it's really really awful

Siri

I use it multiple times per day for timers, for reminders of things I think of on the way to work, for music, for calling (but those are not advanced Siri features) and frequently for messaging. I think it is pretty awesome. Occasionally weather and once and awhile random facts. I think it is a great new addition. But I bought the 4S for the camera so Siri is a bonus.

Not too bad. But you can do punctuation is Siri, which will make it more readable. You can even parathesis, paragraphs, etc.

Wow, this isn't a biased article. 87% use Siri once a month? What about 99% use Siri once a year? That's useful.

How about how many use Siri every day?

I come here to get information on Mac products, but it just wastes my time to get propaganda.

Marketing... Statistics...

Just made it up :p

Once a day - 0.1%
Once a week - 2%
Once every two weeks - 49%
Once a month - 87% <--------- LOOKS GOOD publish this figure!
Ever tried - 99.9%

This can't be correct since they said AT LEAST once a month. So they pretty much didn't say anything. It could be (though I doubt it since they would say this if it was true) that those 87% that use it at least once a month also use it once a day. You just don't know.
