I read somewhere on here that some people only got the text/email a couple hours before their slot, maybe that's the reason why you haven't gotten a text yet?! Either way, my fingers are still crossed for you.

It's cool - I'm totally confident it'll be delivered today without issue. I'm less confident there won't be dead pixels or dust or bits hanging off :p

Plus I'm stuck at work till 5pm anyway.

I know. Back on my iPad 2, I had glowing fingerprints/or something similar twice. I think being on this forum doesn't help thinking that there's something wrong with it once it gets here.

Please let ours be perfect! Plus, I don't think I could handle having to send it back haha

I think I'd actually get a bit narky with them if this one had to go back too.

I'd (like TheLondonFella suggested) ask to take it back to the Apple Store instead. And then check the replacement in store.

It won't come to that though! Rrrright?! o_O

I could not get to a store until Wednesday and would have to take the bus as well. Ugh!
Is it a new thing that you can bring back your online deliveries to a local store?

I had it in my mind from times past that you couldn't (had to return like for like), but I'm inclined to believe everything TheLondonFella says :p

No idea how new it is though. It does kinda make sense they should offer it.

Let's hope it doesn't come this far.
I'll find out in about 30mins, only 10 deliveries before mine.

Sorry for disappearing for so long. I got my iPad bang on time at 10:46am. I saw the DPD driver parking down my road earlier. I assume he wasn't allowed to deliver before my slot. He was unfriendly, but it doesn't matter.

I put 5 (!!!)screen protectors on and removed them all. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and having dirt/dust/air bubbles underneath the screen annoyed the hell out of me. Took me a good 45mins as well. Now it's without one and I'm just hoping that it will be fine with the pencil.
Anyways, I couldn't be happier and it's perfect. No dead pixels or dust underneath the lens. Phew!

Sorry for the stupid first attempt and drawing, but I have a little toddler who will not let me use my iPad. I will have to try it out tonight when she's in bed haha

Haha, ace drawing. I got a pencil *purely* for diagrams / notes for work and study. I'm atrocious at drawing :)

Congratulations Loveandterror, super glad you've got a perfect one!

So am I. I only had 5mins with it, but there is lots of brushes and options in the free Adobe sketch app. I think even if you don't know what you're doing (like me), you're able to make something look nice. Can't wait to give it a try. You should definitely doodle around as well, no one said you only have to use it only for diagrams and notes ;-)

Shame about the DPD driver; they're normally pretty good.

However I'm pleased you finally have your iPad!!

Nothing wrong with being a perfectionist... After all you've had to wait longer than necessary to get it in your hands.

Not found anything wrong with it yet. Think I'm on the verge of relaxing and being happy :D

It's actually a really interesting workflow using the ASK and pencil. It's surprisingly effective using the pencil for navigating iOS etc. Sorry for the noob comments - it's quite an upgrade to my iPad 3!

I'm already touch typing like a beast (all that practice typing on it without the iPad :p).

Hooray!

I should add - thanks very much for your help / insight / good vibes.

Will do. I had no idea that people would still be interested in my opinion :)
And yes, I bought the pencil yesterday at Argos (£5 voucher and £7.90 cashback sounded too good to pass up :D) I can not wait to try it out.
How's your iPad treating you?

Wow very nice! And I am loving it :D the pencil is awesome, the speakers are awesome, true tone is awesome! All round a brilliant upgrade from the Air 1

The screen protectors can be super annoying, but I think they are worth using, especially with the pencil, but like you I am a perfectionist :D it took me about 30 mins to get mine on just right! My secret is always have an air duster handy to give the screen a clean to get rid of the tiny specs of dust, and a sticker is good too to 'stick' the dust off the screen, also masking tape or similar can be used to align the protector before all this so you don't have to stress over getting the position right after cleaning. The temperd glass ones seem to work well with the pencil, I'm using one right now, and they tent to be less prone to bubbles in my experience.

Are you using a case?

Thanks for the heads up. Am using another third party case (from Amazon) that housed my Air 2 and whilst it fits the magnetic Sleep/Wake function no longer works and blocks the speakers at the top of the iPad Pro.

No problem. Fit really well. If I remember when I get home I'll snap a couple of pictures.

Just can't justify paying £85 for a Apple smart cover and Silicon case.

Anyone still looking for the Smart Keyboard John Lewis has them in stock right now. I had ordered one from Apple directly for pickup on the 19th but ordered one from John Lewis just now for pickup tomorrow. Once I get my John Lewis order tomorrow I'm going to cancel the Apple one. John Lewis also provides a 2 year guarantee on it.

No, nor can I. Unsure as to why they've stopped producing the Smart Case as I had one in the past and it did the job perfectly.

Agreed, I had one for my Air. Which I've actually been using up until today when this new one turned up. Only the lightning port and headphone port lined up, but thought it was good enough for some protection at least.

Am going to wait until next week and order the same case as you from Amazon.

Let me know how you get on with it please.

It annoys me how the silicone cases for the iPads leave the whole left side open, meaning you HAVE to purchase the cover for full protection -_-
