Apple numbers their mobile devices like this:
<name of device><processor>,<version>
So the iPod Touch 1G was labeled <ipod1,1> and since the new one got a new processor, it was labeled <ipod2,1>.
The iPhone 3G and the original had the same processor, so it went from <iphone1,1> to <iphone1,2>.
The name <iphone2,1> means it is the first model of the iPhone with the second processor (the one already in the new iPod Touch).
happen to be moving there saturday. i'm going to keep my eyes peeled.
I'd like to see you complain to your significant other about how you can't delete individual calls (assuming you have one).
Apple could release a new iPhone ("iPhone Pro") soon and wait until June to upgrade the regular iPhone.yes they released new phones in june/july for the last couple of years but that is no guarantee that another one will definitely be released this summer.
That completely clears things up. So that also explains the numbering of the notebooks, like the MacBook Pro going from 3,1 to 4,1 (Merom » Penryn).Apple numbers their mobile devices like this:

If it was smaller and it had another name other than just iPhone, they could possibly pack more sophisticated hardware inside. Especially with the falling prices in flash memory and smaller CPU's, it might not be a negative to have a thinner and lighter design. But does anyone agree they should go back to the metal casing design. It matches well with the new unibody macbooks. It's one of the many reasons I never upgraded to the 3G.
Took me a second to get the meaning of =/=. Tip: holding alt while hitting the equals sign gives you ≠.
Sweet! I never knew that. I was wondering how people could write "Wall•E," ® and © so quickly. Nice tip!Tip: holding alt while hitting the equals sign gives you ≠.
PinchMedia provides iPhone developers with ad serving and analytic tracking software to embed within iPhone applications.
Well. Two words. iPhone game edition. I think the new iPhone will have a few new upgrades (front facing camera) but more importatnly it will be a gaming platform, with physical side buttons.
I think it would be cool if they offered a gaming version and a business version so they can target multiple markets.

No! This goes against everything Apple stands for and goes with everything Microsoft stands for.
