what happens if we reach the deadline before the team leader posts a list? new deadline or automatic fail?
For now the deadline is a soft one, but when we get a handle of things, if a deadline was reached without a majority lock, the first to yea or nay wins, and those who didn't vote gets a strike.

and i voted nay because it was getting a lot of yays.
twietee's and comeagain's yays were particularly suspicious.

Wut? There is almost zero to go on day one - especially when it just started: how can an early 'go ahead' be particularly suspicious? First I thought just like Moyank. Also, why shouldn't I/we vote for the list presented? It's not like there could be some great reasoning as to why this or that player should be exchanged.

My reason for 'suspecting' Koodauw is nothing but a gut feeling since his presented list, one that is almost bound to be accepted because there is no way to reason against it, feels 'too clean' for my taste. And the more I thought about it the more I didn't feel compelled to go with it just because it's the first.

why would you vote for it? you are not on it.
if koodauw is infi, it is certainly there is one infi (likely exactly one infi) on it.
if koodauw is agent, and you are agent, you are approving a list with the worst possible odds to have infis on it (50%).
if you are agent, the only reason for you to vote nay is if there are no other agents on the list

you sure do make this game fun...

Certain? I don't know. Not unlikely but certainly not certain.

And are you really pulling rhethorical questions on me?

When I'm a baddie, why would I rush for a list that has possibly the best chance in the whole game to be accepted, while concerning my 'doubts' (called it observation) about it right in the same post too? Bit off.

ok, not certain, but i would say very very likely, especially in the first game where i doubt double-counter-sneaky crosses will be at play. if you are a Infi team leader, to put out an all-agents team is avery risky move, unless you are fairly sure it will be rejected, but then you wasted an opportunity to set up your own team.

WoodNUFC, you played this already, no? How often do you, as a group, decline the very first list in these type of games? That'd be rare I guess.

DP, I agree on that if I'd be a baddie and leader on the first day I'd include only one colleague. Mission fails and probability is quite good at least one is included in the second, that'd be already 2/3. But baddies are completely on their own too, so this also makes it more random.

Didn't really think all-out, more like 1-2, but with all three baddies in one team, each getting the plots (unless it's the one where you have to out yourself or vote openly, nah scratch that: the last plot would be a genuine cover for the 3/3) you really could eat the agents up in the open with us noticing it when it's already too late. Extremely bold move, not sure if my friend Koodauw would play like that, fancy not, but I sure know he's up for bold moves in general when we were both WW.

I have only played in person before. The first list fails from time to time, but it depends on who's selecting the team, and how they are acting when they make their choices. It's going to be interesting to see how this works online. It should be fun, as this game lends itself to groups that are used to WW.

The group will have to learn as we go, and not get too worried about the first mission or two. Once people start catching on, they can develop their own strategy and go from there.

That was my intial thought: "Let's get the ball rolling". Like Moyank too. But when you think about it, lose the first two and it's already do or die. Ironically that was the reason why I changed vote and went with my gut instead...and now am under heavy surveilance. :D

Two strikes and you get lost in the forest.

may = nay (was an iPhone autocorrect)

i assume that the strike only count when a deadline is reached, but not with majority lock? (that is how we had lost in the woods in the WW games)

on a separate note, since it is practically impossible that the 5th attempt at a mission ever fails (since obviously all the agents vote yes), if we ever get there, should we just have that it is automatically yay-ed?
it basically saves one 'period' of wasted time, where nobody posts anything of relevance except 'yay'

another question:
if i understand correctly, if the leader gets their list approved, then you give them the 3 plot-cards to assign to the team by posting them publicly in the thread.
after that, is there a fixed amount of time to reach that decision, so it can be discussed in the thread (with another deadline) or they just give out the plots as soon/as late as they want, without input from the rest?

Lets vote on this list first.

I vote Yay, let's proceed with the mission. Sorry, but I'm headed to the gym and won't be home till around 9:30 or 10:00 PM US Central. Mondays are league night. I see no reason to feel strongly about eliminating anyone from the list at this point in the game. Like Moyank stated previously, this will give us information to work with and it seems very premature to have anything more than a blind guess during the first vote.

Yep.

The current plan is to give another 12-hour deadline for both plot distribution and failure/success votes. In other words, if everything gets approved and goes unhindered, each turn would take 24 hours.

Current votes:
Yay: 3 (TechGod, mscriv, Moyank24)
Nay: 3 (WoodNUFC, twietee, Don't panic)
