I hate USB-C. Such an unreliable physical connection. My perfect iPhone:
Bezelless, notchless, Touch ID (with Face ID), USB-C, and yes, I would still like Dynamic Island.

It's a dumb gimmick that attempts to hide an eyesore. People will eventually see it's all marketing.I think Dynamic Island (what?) is actually a brilliant solution and something that deserves praise. Seems like Apple being truly creative again. Under screen cameras are not there yet and a compromise I wouldn’t take.
I just want a bigger iPhone 4 design with edge to edge glass. My perfect iPhone:

It is less reliable than Lightning, although the main issue is Apple not making any upgrade to Lightning in years. It's still 480 MB/s for data transfers, and with today's standards, that's glacially slow. I don't understand why they can come up with Lightning 2, or the same way USB-C has been upgraded to Thunderbolt 4, and soon 5, still using the same connection. Until they do that, if they do it, USB-C is the next best thing.I hate USB-C. Such an unreliable physical connection.
Would you like it to flip or fold? I like the size and form factor of the OPPO Find N.My perfect iPhone:

Have you used it yet?I would have rather had seem them shrink the notch further. Clearly the "dynamic Island" gimmick has hoodwinked a lot of consumers, but I'm not sold. It seems more intrusive than before, especially when watching videos in full screen.
Whether it covers a hole or notch or not, having a streamlined and "dynamic" notification area at the top of the screen doesn't bother me a bit. It's way better than the comparatively huge dropdown banners that now interrupt your screen experience when a call, text, or other notification comes along. Many people are delirious bordering on orgasmic about the dynamic island. But once Apple has screens without holes and notches we will all look back on this time now of iPhone screens as primitive and undesirable.
Everyone said that about the notch. Everyone got over it.I think Apple is brilliant to turn a controversial design element into a feature. However it looks awful when viewing video. Also I think people will call it the pill and not dynamic island. It blows my mind that this is the feature people care so much about.
I ordered the iPhone 14 pro, don't get me wrong. But having a hole is still annoying and I don't think it's cool. If BMW makes their new ugly grill a little smaller, those cars are still ugly.Whether it covers a hole or notch or not, having a streamlined and "dynamic" notification area at the top of the screen doesn't bother me a bit. I got one on the way as well. The notch never bothered me much. I'm looking forward to something different. Hopefully it's truly useful screen real estate. The 14Pro will be taller than my current 11Pro, so I'm thinking the island will hardly change my overall viewing experience.I ordered the iPhone 14 pro, don't get me wrong. That’s true i don’t mind it. I still think this version of the notch looks worse. I noticed how little marketing showed off video playback during the presentation. Anyway it’s funny to me how many people can’t wait for the technology to get rid of the notch but then go on to defend it as a defining feature.Everyone said that about the notch. Everyone got over it.
No, it was introduced at a time where both iOS and Android phones were trying to ditch the bezels, the iPhone was not the first to do it either. Android manufacturers moved on and tries other things (drop-shaped or punch holes, even that ridiculous motorized pop-up selfie camera). The notch was a defining design element —love it or hate it. The iPhone has to have a recognizable feature so that people know it’s an iPhone. Not a generic slab of screen.
It will, but it has had its time to shine, and now we are all moving to the Island 🏝️In my opinion, the notch will always stay iconic forever.
Hard disagree here. I think it’s very jaded and cynical to think this about what is probably the coolest and most USEFUL feature that is sure to be (poorly) co-opted by rivals by next year. It's a dumb gimmick that attempts to hide an eyesore. People will eventually see it's all marketing.
