yeah its quite buggy.. no one tells you that you have to turn on vpn etc...unless you read the forums, Also first time I tried the jailbreak didnt move just said waiting for reboot but it actually wasnt... interesting.. i have the cydia icon now tho
 
PSA for Anyone on AT&T GoPhone

If you followed TUAW's directions on how to set up GoPhone using the iPhone Configuration Utility, you will find that the "Encrypt iPhone Backup" option in iTunes is greyed out.

Since Absinthe requires an unencrypted backup before you can proceed, you will need to remove the configuration profile on the iPhone (Settings/General). Once you've done this, you can uncheck the encryption option. Sync once to create a new unencrypted backup and you're done.

Obviously you'll need to reinstall the configuration profile to get data working again. It may be easier just to install an unverified profile.
 
the jailbreak also seems to have an issue if u have other VPN installed. ive tried it on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S for hours and all i was getting was the blank white page until i deleted my hotspot shield vpn profile. after this it worked on both on the first try.
 
Help, Absinthe won't recognize iphone 4s

i downloaded both versions of absinthe but neither of them recognizes the iPhone when i plug it in. Meaning the the absinthe program always says "connect iPhone or iPad" even if the iPhone is all ready connected. any one have the same problem? or know how to fix it?

Iphone 4s, mac fully updated. OS X 10.7.2
 
i deleted the app than my iphone wont sync anymore itunes wont recognize it i definetly dont know what to do in order to jailbreak
 
Whenever I try to enable to the VPN to get cydia I get this error "A configuration error has occurred."
 
if i install something from cydia and need to respring some random app icons turn white unless i respring again. very weird but glad its at least not permanent
 
All of the sudden I'm unable to update apps from the app store and it's not accepting my apple id. Anyone else? This has never happened prior to the JB. Yes, I've rebooted.

I can't update apps or download new ones. The apps just say "waiting" like it's trying to download but nothing happens even after restart.
 
After I clicked Cydia for the first time, my phone rebooted and now most of my stock apps are gone???

Phone, SMS, Email, Safari. All not there. What gives? Anyone see this?

Anyone else having issues removing stocks and weather from the drop down after sbsettings install? Even with it removed in notification settings, it still appears.
 
Wow I got lucky 1st absinthe worked perfect for me. Cydia installed 1dt try. I had to wait all day to try it so was afraid no Jailbrake for me. Times likethis is why I hackintosh! :D after Cydia installed I Pkgbackup and installed from my last I4 jailbrake backup.. And hope for the best worked perfect.. still catching on after the jailbrake I will add pakages that aren't listed after a while.. Oh and Dream Team has $$ coming I'm happy!
 
Anyone know how to fix the "Beginning Jailbreak, this may take awhile" part? I've been stuck on it and redid at least 4 times.
 
I've tried it on 2 different Macs, and after 5-20 minutes, it just crashes. Doesn't get past "Beginning Jailbreak" I've rebooted several times, and I've erased my Ipad 2, same thing.

Same thing with me, on 2 different macs, and even completely wiped my device.

of course it doesn't show in notification center; you have to select it: settings>notifications>sbsettings
if you don't want it in NC then you just select the method in activator instead.

So far working good on my AT&T 4S:
Cycontact, Tetherme, Home Page in Safari, 3G Unrestrictor & SBsettings :D

Had no trouble with the actual JB took around 5mins total, you guys remember to use the latest version of the jb program 0.1.2-2 & make sure you run it over WIFI for a faster response time.
 
Can't seem to use iCloud or download apps from the app store on my iPhone 4S (jailbroken) or my iPad 2 (not jailbroken).

EDIT

Problems overall tonight with app store and iCloud on Apple's end...not jailbreak related. All is working again.
