They're still douchebags for not making it a free update to LR 5
Lightroom uses say Photos is limited...
Photos users say its just as good.

I just purchased my upgrade for $79- and it's downloading now. Two things, I hope I can upgrade both of my Macs as in the past a license allowed you to have it installed on two computers. And, I'm hoping my new Nikon D7200 is now supported.
I think I'll stick with Aperture.
Oh, wait....
When Aperture stops working, sadly I'll have to go to Lightroom. I hate all things Adobe, so bloated.
I was under the impression that Aperture won't 'stop working' it just won't get updates any more. So if you're happy with its functionality as it is now, then all good, carry on using it.

I keep checking but don't see the update!!
I'm on the CC subscription plan so looking forward to picking up the update. I still haven't fully bought into Lightroom yet though and I've been using it for over a year now. Functionally it is just fine and as easy to use as Aperture was. But visually, I was able to dial in on my desired look much quicker in Aperture. I loved how Aperture rendered Canon RAW files, and just haven't been able to replicate the exact look in Lightroom. Frustrating.

I know right? Friggin software companies, trying to make money and stuff....
Adobe is also selling the new Lightroom update on a standalone basis, branded as Lightroom 6 and priced at $149 (or $79 upgrade pricing).
me neither???!

I hate how Aperture rendered Canon 6D raw files. It was just a mess and they never fixed it..

good news. i hate renting software! i can get many years of use out of $150, which is less expensive than renting it at $10/mo -- two years and its $240 already, no thanks. owning software ftw!

BUT, I think Apple has the potential to make Photos a downright fearful competitor to Adobe.
Nope! Just replied to a comment. Now I'll look into it. But they haven't for quite some time, right?
Jumped too fast!
Keep those eyes for yourself.
