Still waiting for Adorama to refund. I just got into it with them today and told them I am doing a charge back if it's not done by the EOB today. My CC already sent me the bill and interest being charged now that I have to pay because it's taken Adorama 2.5 weeks to cancel/refund my order. Ugh. I'll never use them ever again, no matter how good the deal is. Sending stuff back to NewEgg is night and day difference vs Adorama.

did you get refund??
do the charge back,,, or go with my method. annoy and destroy.! meaning call them and email them non stop. keep asking for a manager, the owner or this lady hellen. it absurd that they charge you and its notin stock. clear violation on how things work... ohh btw, bandh does it also.

Placed an order Monday for i9/32gb/2tb/Veg20/Space-Grey with Adorama. Decided to cancel due to no status of order after 3 days and 15% restocking fee in case I need to return. Re-ordered with Apple EPP. I have to pay a little more due to tax, but worth guaranteed delivery date before XMAS and stress free return.

No problem cancelling my order. They tried to get me to keep my order by claiming 30 day return policy, but I pointed out unless they could guarantee no re-stocking fee and could provide better delivery estimate, I wasn't interested in keeping the order in place. While I'm sure order would have went through fine, I didn't want to risk hassle of return in case there is a defect in the product (screen uniformity, keyboard, etc).

12/24 delivery with Apple, I can't wait!

Andorama is also hated by Porch Pirates as they don’t deliver thereby disrupting their business plan:p

You should have it a week before that date. They shipped mine out the next day after I ordered. Same spec as you.

That'd be sweet! I still need to order Applcecare, but I like to shop around as that can be had for cheaper elsewhere. I noticed you only have 60 days from time of purchase to buy that now, it used to be a year.

Just watch when your credit card gets charged. It will be shipped that day.

I was told in the forums that you have up to a year to get AppleCare and 60 days to get AppleCare+. I would check with Apple to verify how much time you have.

Per an email from Apple that I got when I bought my MBP.

Checking different online stores, it does look like Apple only advertises Applecare+ now and only sells it through Apple :(.

If you don't need the accidental physical protection, I would still contact Apple and inquire about just AppleCare. It will save you some money if they do sell it to you.

I will try that, thanks. Regular Applecare is all I need. I don't need pysical damage protection, at least not until I get a usbC-magsafe adapter. It used to be you could buy Applecare from 3rd party vendors at a discount and had a year from time of purchase to buy it. Oh, how things have changed.

I miss the days of 17" MBP's, more reasonable prices (for Apple), user serviceable ram and hdd upgrades, and the simplicity, elegance and rock solid stability of Snow Leopard.

I mostly miss buying a MacBook Pro from Apple and knowing that it will still be working great 6-7 years later.

Do new machines not hold up as well as the old ones? I am still using an early 2011 MBP. It runs well and aside from a line that periodically appears down the side of the screen, I have no issues. I'm surprised it's gone as long as it has, and I upgraded it to include both an SSD and HDD for extra space. I'll miss it when I upgrade, but it no longer supports the newest software and is slowing down.

Take a look through the MacBook Pro forum and decide for yourself :).
That isn't exactly a representative sample. The people that speak up are the ones with issues, but you'll never hear from 99% of people who have had no issues. Not to mention that the people on this forum are a very tiny slice of all Mac users.

AppleCare is $349, AppleCare+ is $379. Spend the extra $30.
