My 6+ is great. It does basically everything I need it to do. It's my favorite iPhone so far.
This. It might not be the most exciting phone I've ever used but it does what I need it to do and it does it well. It's reliable and works well with my iPads and Apple TV.

I had a 5S which was quite buggy. It's a lot more stable than that was.

I was so excited to get the 6plus, but after a few months with it, I've grown quite tired of it. Not the size, but the lack of things I can do WITH that size.

I've been thinking, and the only reason I have an iPhone is because I have a Macbook and iPad. Certainly not a good reason to keep paying a company for a phone you're not completely happy with.

I'm wondering if anyone has made the switch to Android (unlikely, seeing as the phone has only been out 6 months), or if anyone is similarly underwhelmed and thinking about switching. If you have switched or are considering it, which device are your eyes on?

+1

The best solution would be a Note 4. For me I felt the same frustration e.g not being able to download movies, torrents, MP3 straight to mobile which Android doesn't even need root.

That's why I jailbroke my 6+ however I am still limited by what Cydia has to offer and battery life was not good -solely due to Cydia not making it possible to turn off 3G!!!!

Note 4 and 6+ both had its cons and pros, I've been with Android since Galaxy S2 and now I got bored, so I moved onto iOS when they launched a 5"+ screen

Try playing World of Tanks.. I'm never bored when I have my phone now. Large screen means easy gaming, which is something I never did due to small screen pre-6+.

Just JB Op, unless you are on 8.1.3. A JB iPhone is the ultimate phone.

You can even install gameboy advance emulators and relive your childhood. (Im 24 and still play Pokemon red when I'm bored).

You can customize your home screen, lock screen. You can make your phone the ultimate security tool. Prevent your phone from being turned off on the LS, and when someone tries to turn it off, your phone will take a picture and send the picture, phones location and map to your email address.

Lock down any app with a passcode. Get REAL multi tasking. Greatly improve third party keyboards. Make your status bar however you want it. Change every icon to what you want on your home screen.

Seriously, the list can go on for 500+ pages. Every single person in my family has a jailbroken phone. Mom, dad, sisters, me, and I JB all the iPads too.

If you are on 8.1.3, you can't but the JB should be out as soon as 8.2 releases in march.

If anyone here is bored with their 6 Plus it's because most likely nobody cares to call them so they have no one to talk to, after all it IS a PHONE. If you can't find anything to do with your 6Plus it's because you have nothing of importance going on that needs the power and functionality of an iPhone 6 Plus. I have no idea what the OP is talking about. Every app I use utilizes all the screen real estate without issue. You have choices sir, you can switch to Android or Windows phone if you can't deal with the iPhone 6 plus.

What's with this pity party in regards to bugs? I have not seen any issues with my 6 Plus and I use it for work daily.

Righhhhttt, its just a phone? a phone that can play HD games, go on the internet, watch videos and movies. Play music. Take pictures. Check the weather, and so much more?

Its not "just a phone"

In fact, many users here use the "phone" feature the least. Tell me, how many pictures are on your phone? Probably 1000 or so huh? Now check how many phone calls are in your phone? Im gonna guess under 1000. So you use your camera more then the phone ? right? Should call your iPhone an "iCamera" then...

And if you don't have so many pictures, I can bet you check your email or surf Macrumors more times a day then you call someone right?

I'm not bored because I want a new device. I'm bored because there is no way to optimize all of that screen size, and I feel like it's wasted.

how do you think the poor iPad and it's unused screen size must feel xD 3x3 folder layout for one thing

My recent phone history..

iPhone 3G
HTC Sensation
iPhone 4
iPhone 5s
Nexus 5
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
iPhone 6

If you are anything like me you get bored and want a change.. Only to realise the iPhone was nice and easy to get along with, I always go back and you may find you will do the same.

Its more of a tool for me. I like the screen size, and what iOS brings to the table. I'm not bored, its a good phone for me.

I don't own a 6 Plus but never understand how people get bored with a phone. Its an everyday tool and most smartphones do the same tasks anyway. Whether you are checking Facebook, email, or texting people, its pretty much just as boring on any other device! lol

Nope I'm not bored.

I'm jail broken and enjoying what can be actually achieved with this phone when removed from  's sandbox. ;)

He's probably bored with his hammer too, because it can't drive screws.

It's more a case of being hindered and disappointed by my phone for me. Aside from the bigger screen, my 6+ is actually worse for web browsing than my old iPhone 5 due to the chronic lack of RAM. Considering that web browsing is the no.1 thing I do on my phone, that's not good is it. Plus there are more showstopping bugs with this phone than on any previous phone I've ever owned. What should have been the best iPhone ever most certainly isn't.

As for the OP, he can be bored if he wants. It's his own opinion. The 6+ gives us a bigger screen and more bugs, but other than that it's the same old same old. These things aren't just simple tools for basic tasks, they're more than that. We could buy a much cheaper phone if it was purely A to B-style grocery shopping functionality we were after.

I wouldn't jailbreak again. Ios 8 is unstable as it is, jailbreaking has always gotten me in to a world of bugs and rebooting/respring. I don't even think there is any jailbreak for iOS 8 and it's NOT a solution for people who are bored with IOS. Look at alternatives to iphone. Start using Google services that can be used with both your apple products and for example an android phone.

I'm very happy I replaced my iPhone 5 with a Note 3 one year ago. I haven't had any reason to regret it. iPhone is a really good phone lineup, but boring and I'm more than happy to get rid of that iCloud and iTunes mess. I do still use a Macbook and an iPad though and it is working well for me cross platform.

It still only has 1GB of RAM and no phablet features though.

That is why I find my Note 3 still superior. It has 3GB RAM, 13MP camera, 32GB storage and micro SD card. I can download stuff from torrents on the move.

I also own an iPhone 6 but Note 3 can do so much more stuff.

Not bored one bit. I think I actually like the device being boring because its doing everything it needs to do and does it well. Im not sure what bugs everyone keeps referring to. Either they are being anal about things or the bugs are so small that they dont bother me. I guess some people need to have an Android so they can root the device and tweak it so much to run smooth when the iPhone does that out the box.

My previous devices:

Note 3
HTC One M8
HTC One M8 (GPE)
LG G3
OnePlus One
Nexus 6
Note 4
iPhone 6

So I am more than happy with my 6+ considering I came from just about all the flagship devices.

Haven't rooted or done anything to my Note 3 other than installing Nova launcher because I like the launcher so much. It runs really smooth out of the box and if you've really had all those devices, you should know that.

Nobody makes you dislike the iPhone 6. It's your preference and that's fine, but iOS 8 IS buggy whether you like it or not.

Yeah they are just now starting to get better and now making it where you don't have to root them. And I use Nova launcher on every android device I have as well and it smooths things up quite nicely but TW is still a bummer and I cant really deal with it. Note 4 was a great device don't get me wrong and it was really hard to leave it but I haven't looked back since.

Don't want to stray away from the OP but I don't find myself getting bored at all. Its nothing that another phone has that I don't already have with the 6+. 1GB of RAM has always satisfied my needs so that doesn't bother me one bit. And it may be buggy but (in my personal experience) the only bug I run into is it gets stuck in landscape mode sometimes and that's every blue moon.

I don't use the note 3 so I can't comment on day to day performance. However my boyfriend uses my old note 3 now and the camera and screen on my 6 plus are better. I also have the 128GB version so storage isn't an issue.

I've not had the note 4 but I previously used the S5, note 3, S4 and note 1 so I think I have a good idea of what it would be like. I've also used the LG G3 briefly.

I think my iPhone 6 plus stacks up well against all the devices I've used in the past.

My 6 plus is jb and runs great.

Android itself has been really smooth for quite some years now, but TW is just about finding its own now I guess. However it was smooth and crisp with 4.1 when I got my Note 3 and is even better with 4.4.

Well I can relate to your experience too. The Apple experience is very clean from hardware to software which often keeps you away from thinking that iOS 8 is still pretty much the same app drawer from "iPhone OS 1.1". I would be perfectly satisfied with a 6 Plus because to me, it's just a matter of getting used to what I bought for a daily driver.

I stopped reading when you said "It's JUST a phone". I never said it's JUST a phone. Put on your reading glasses and go back and re-read my post because it's plenty obvious you didn't. Just a knee-jerk reaction without reading the whole thing. I said it IS a phone after all and people tend to forget that and the rest of my post went on to say how powerful and feature rich the iPhone 6 Plus is which you did nothing but recite exactly what I already said.
