I'm done with this thread. I got what I needed. You guys can keep twisting up what I was saying if you want, but I'm done.

It's a mobile device. Not a human being w/ real interaction. Don't post provocative and entitled threads if you can't handle the feedback.

For the umpteenth time, it's not the phone that I'm bored with. Its iOS on the 6+. It's the fact that Apple didn't build anything new or specific in to take advantage of the extra screen size. It's the instability. It's the lack of ability to personalize.

Again, this thread wasn't made to highlight any of those. It was made to get a group of people together that feel like me, and see how they handled it. Some said the jailbroke their phone. Others said they switched and are happy with Android. Some said they switched and came back to Apple.

If you aren't one of those people, then why do you keep responding? If it doesn't apply, let it fly.

But, yeah, go ahead and keep saying it's the phone itself that I'm bored with. That allows you to keep side-stepping the fact that iOS on the 6+ doesn't take advantage of the phone's power. And it's unstable. Point, blank, period.

Why didn't say so in the first place :D

I get what you are saying. Just curious: do you feel the same about your iPad? It's basically an iPhone with a bigger screen. A few apps are designed to take advantage of the larger screen.

I have a 6, and not a 6+, but I have an iPad, so I understand what you are saying.

My feeling is different. I want the OS to be almost invisible, and the apps take over and capture my attention when I use my iPhone and iPad. It's like reading a book. I don't want the font and the layout to demand my attention; I rather focus on the content.

It's not to say that the OS is irrelevant. It's hard to create an OS that is efficient and nonintrusive. I am not saying that IOS is great as it as it is another topic and getting into this is like opening a can of worm. All I am saying is that IOS is at least efficient enough and good enough for the purpose.

Once you in an app, it's up to the app to take advantage of the extra screen space.

I Just got a 6+ and might trade it in for a 6. I have pretty big hands and I can't thumb the whole screen without feeling like I'm going to drop it. Not being able to reach the 123 key on the keyboard with my right thumb really bugs me.

You did realize its just the same phone as last year except a bigger screen right? its been like that for years.

Aside from downloading torrents (which I could do as well on my iPhone, though not as elegantly as on Android), what is the "so much more stuff".

I always like to ask for people to expound on that phrase. It's thrown around here a ton, but people rarely provide concrete examples of tasks one can accomplish on a Note, that I can't accomplish on my iPhone.

1. Wifi direct file transfer - device to device wifi transfer. You can send a full 800MB movie in less than a minute from any android device to another.
2. Bluetooth file transfer to any phone, except iPhones of course.
3. Proper file manager.
4. Ability to send any attachment via email.
5. Drag and drop of files on computer. No more dealing with iTunes.
6. Micro SD card support.

I was so excited to get the 6plus, but after a few months with it, I've grown quite tired of it. Not the size, but the lack of things I can do WITH that size.
More icons on every page of the Home screen. Web browsing shows more of each page. Calendars show more days/weeks/months. Games show more of the playfield. Typing means the keyboard doesn't take up half the screen. Videos can be watched in full native HD resolution without scaling down. GPS apps show more of the roads around you. Books and comics can be read without zooming. And so on.

Seriously, does any of that mean nothing? :D

Drag and drop files on computer is becoming a thing of the past on android, which is sad, most modern android phones will let you drag and drop between sd card in your phone but not the built in storage due to google security measures. Alot of manufacturers want you to install their garbage software to sync files anymore.

I've been thinking, and the only reason I have an iPhone is because I have a Macbook and iPad. Certainly not a good reason to keep paying a company for a phone you're not completely happy with.

I'm wondering if anyone has made the switch to Android (unlikely, seeing as the phone has only been out 6 months), or if anyone is similarly underwhelmed and thinking about switching. If you have switched or are considering it, which device are your eyes on?

I switched after the iPhone 5 I was tired of the same old thing. Went with a galaxy s3 (garbage) battery lasted maybe 3 hrs of usually! Also tried to update the firmware as it wouldn't update I called Samsung (was hung up on twice) and eventually got through to a tech rep and was told "the phone will eventually update" (was not offered any troubleshooting) called back the next day and was told they will check on the problem and call me back (still waiting on the call) for over 2 years.

Got rid of that phone and went to a Nexus 4 (great phone) but it wasn't an iPhone so I figured maybe I would give blackberry a try, traded the nexus 4 for a z10 and that thing was great too (if you can live without apps, which I cant) (tried side loading android apps) but was a hassle and only half of them worked.

I eventually went back to iPhone and have stayed there customer service is AWESOME (best I ever dealt with) and I realized how much I really missed the OS ( I get bored at times) but I always remember how much I missed iPhone.

I do miss the compact form and feel of my iPhone 5 but I love this screen!!!

Ive had the 6 plus for about 4 months now and i can honestly say this been my worst experience with a new iPhone. i love the screen size and features but iOS lags, hangs up and some popular apps like Facebook run like dog ****. I have co worker who has an iPhone 6 and his device runs a lot smoother than mines and its extremely frustrating. This device is unacceptably slow for being so new.

Agreed! Bought my wife the 6 yesterday (and personally had the 6 for about 2 weeks (before returning it and going with the 6+) it does seem slower by a noticeable difference.

Snap. I actually hate my 6+ and that's just not on considering I've only owned it for three months. I laid out a stack on this phone and have owned iPhones for the past 5+ years, so nobody can say that I just don't get along with them or any of that guff. The 6+ is a dog. iOS8 is a dog too, but much less so on the standard iPhone 6 or older devices. Apple should offer a subsidised trade in program for 6+ owners to upgrade to the 6S when it's released. Seriously. Why should we be stuck with this lemon for 24 months when it has never worked correctly out of the box, and will only get worse with time (and newer versions of iOS). Yeah plenty will slate me for this post and exclaim that their 6+ performs flawlessly, but my friend who owns a 6+ feels just the same way I do. We can't both have faulty phones. Different stores, different batches, different networks. Same issues.

Also agree with you! Not to mention the 6s's will be loaded with an extra gig of ram (less jetsam errors) and better performance.

I thought about the 6+ before upgrading and intuitively went with the 6 and I love this thing. Even though the 6 is also a guinea pig of sorts, the 6+ is even more of a guinea pig in a way. I told myself I would give the 6+ its first year, let them work the kinks out and optimize the device and then go with the 6S+ or 7+ depending on when I upgrade. Although I have heard it both ways, some people have said they have nothing but a great experience with their 6+ and some say the opposite.

1. AirDrop works for iOS/OSX devices.
2. Again, AirDrop works well for me. Plenty of app options for file transfers.
3. I've never wanted this. What you call "proper", I call old school.
4. Yes - completely agree. More robust email attachment system is my main gripe with iOS.
5. Eww, why? AirDrop again - wireless. I never use iTunes to transfer files to my iOS devices. Can't remember the last time I plugged my devices into a computer except to charge them.
6. Meh, sure. I have 128 GB. Don't need more.

Sunking, i dont understand you, all you have been doing is complain about your 6+, why wont you end your misery and sell it on craigslist or something and go with something else. Why not?

The request was "examples of tasks one can accomplish on a Note, that I can't accomplish on my iPhone." All you did was post six points for the same task: file management. So, come up with six different usage concepts, and then we may be impressed. :p

Selling it just gets rid of the phone, but you're still stuck with 24 months of carrier fees. That's where the misery comes in.

After 4 months with the 6Plus, is anyone else bored?

Sell it, and use the funds to buy another phone from swappa or craigslist, youd be stuck with carrier fees no matter with which phone you go. Solution is pretty simple here. Also, the one positive that the iphone has is a very high resale value, he could still sell his 6 plus for 700 dollars and get note 4 for around 550. Problem solved.

I have over £200 worth of apps (dictionaries, sat navs, word processing software etc) and I don't want to take a loss thanks to Apple. I've also only just spent £699 on this lemon a matter of a few months ago. It isn't like I've moved over from Android and just don't get along with iOS, I've owned iPhones for over five years without any breaks. Why should I have to sell up, take a loss and move on? I certainly won't be keeping the 6+ for 24 months, that's for sure, but I can't risk selling it on Ebay due to having been burned before. I'm just going to have to soldier on until the 6S comes out. I won't be forced into yearly upgrades by Apple though so if the 6S spec isn't up to scratch I'll definitely be jumping ship. Lesson learned.

Ok didn't realize you were in UK so things may be different over there, so disregard my previous post
