After reading the reviews, do you have buyers remorse regarding the Jet Black?

Anyone who keeps its after reading these horror story reviews just has to much pride to admit they made the wrong choice. Think of your iphone 3G, and remember how horrid that would look. You spent 900$ to have a phone with hairline scuffs and scratches and smudges? A case makes owning that color pointless.

My thoughts exactly, deep down they know they made the wrong choice but hey if you want a color then by all means go for it.

I think there's some insecurity issues with the dude. He's probably worried that someone else's phone will be better than his.
Not even in the slightest. I speak the truth. NOT 1 reviewer has advised buying this color. Some of you are just to blind to admit it. And to those people, I hope it smudges and slips right out of your hands on launch day, creating a lovely arrangement of synchronized scuffs and scratches that you will have to behold until the iphone 8....

"Insecurity issues" I rest my case!

No deep down I know I DIDN'T make the wrong choice. You don't speak for me. I knew up front it's a fingerprint magnet and will probably get scratches on it but I don't care. I'll probably keep it for a year anyway then switch to the S version. I'm very excited about getting this phone 7 plus 128 gb jet black and can't wait!

Nice! I understand that. Just take good care of it!

Why do you even care what color we get? I wouldn't wish that on anybody. You sound like an a**.

I have a recent model Audi S4 in Brilliant Black, black optic model as in no chrome, sick car. The first thing I did when I got it was put a case on it...like, the whole thing. I have to squeeze under the rubber wrap-tastic-ness just to get inside. But I get to have a scratch free sports car....so there.

In all seriousness, I do have the car and spend a good bit of coin each year maintaining it which is not an easy task. After a fresh wax, it is breathtaking. But after about 10 miles in a mid-Winter snowstorm, man it looks like utter self destruction, LOL!

I ordered the flat black phone, a no brainer for my outdoor lifestyle. The jet black is gorgeous but is the poisoned fruit of temptation to me, you want it SO bad and you want it to really look like that in person day to day SO bad....but it is SO not going to...

And using anything that touches it directly but the soft lined Apple leather case....it's going to destroy that finish with the bump and grind, unless you live in a clean room.

Live your own life dude. Let others worry about their life.

The matte black phone is going to show fingerprints much more than for example space grey, this can be gleaned from some of the videos. If you truly hate fingerprints you may want to look at one of the lighter colours.

We did just fine with the glossy "jet black" iPhone 3G/3GS, even naked. People will live.

I am going to get the Jet Black 7+ (I'll wait a month or so for the hype to die down before picking one up - maybe longer if they sell out), and I'm not worried at all about micro scratches or fingerprints. It's a phone. It looks great in the photos and from what reviewers are saying it feels great too - likely a similar hand feel to next years glass / ceramic composite case.

It would be interesting to see what a micro particle metal polish would do to buff out any scratches. If Apple made the case this way, it wouldn't seem to be out of the question to help eliminate visible scratches.

I normally wrap my phones (with wood), so I won't have to worry about it at all (and the next person to get the phone will have a pristine condition Jet Black version to use. I'll just need to print-stain the wood carbon black to keep with the phones aesthetic.

And that was made from polycarbonate, with comparably low surface hardness. Anodised aluminium is very hard, depending on the process probably somewhere between 7 and 9. The exact process Apple uses and the thickness of the aluminium oxide layer will determine how well it holds up. It is definitely going to be much harder than the stainless steel Apple logo on the 6/6S. The same goes for the matte anodised surfaces, or course, which will hide fine scratches better than a mirror finish.

That's what AppleCare+ is for, or the myriad of other third party protection plans. Enjoy the device in all it's naked glory!

Something to consider: There are a bunch of really great thing protective films you can place on the outside of the device. So if the back is what's most likely to scratch, you can put a film over it.

I really am having a hard time understanding why this is such a complicated thing for some people to grasp.

Nah. I think JB looks absolutely amazing. I have ocd, and the first scratch will hurt, but I will get over it. Still want something new design-wise, and the jet black color gives me that.

Will love the jet black! And even a scratched jet black will look better than any other color :p

Darn I'm on the edge of canceling and getting another color.
Just looking at my beautiful white 6s makes me even consider a white one without those antenna bands...
Then again, the 7 looks so beautiful in JB... ahhhhhh how to decide?
I had a space grey 6 and got SO bored by the color after a while.. then I realized how they always depict ios on a white phone on the website and how beautiful it is, and finally got a white 6s. Such a beauty.
I think the problem really is we want something new, something that makes everyone see "Hey this is an IP7" but then we have to hide it in a case and it's kinda pointless..

People are legit ordering a phone for this reason? As opposed to..I don't know...because they like it?

Yikes. LOL.

Because it totally diminishes the point of the finish, it will not longer be "Jet Black" but "Jet Black in Condom".

With a CLEAR skin? Ok. LOL.

"CLEAR skin" is not nearly the same reflective & depth quality as multi-stage hard polished anodization....X2 LOL!

I'm sure folks will love this phone but I am not an office / suit and tie / clean room life type, I make my living on ski slopes, mountain tops, etc. I would have that phone nuked in 2-3 days, hahaha!
