No, I meant to quote you because you wrote it might be "just a bit thinner." It could be the same thickness despite the thinner display, in order to make room for the addition of new components and/or bigger battery.

I see. In that post I mentioned both the AW2 and AW3, when I spoke about one being thinner I was not referring to the model that will come out this fall, but rather next year.

So, we should just not discuss anything about Watch 2 until it is formally announced by Apple?
Y'all can keep making guesses as much as you want. It's the use of "it is" and "it will" that bugs me. For all anyone knows, it may not even appear until Fall 2017.

(never mind who the OP is and why he, or she, starts these threads with the excitement of a five-year-old kid at Christmas and then never posts again)

Is someone holding a gun to your head to make you READ and then even waste your time and for you to RESPOND to these threads?

Not me. For me Apple has perfected the product line up as far as hardware and battery life. I don't plan on upgrading any of my Apple products for at least another 3-4 years. Maybe more

I massively overspent on Apple products in the last year or so.

I think my iMac is perfect and I can't imagine wanting to upgrade it.

I have the iPhone 6S+, which is great and with the new OS will be even better. I can't imagine what the iPhone 7 is going to offer that would tempt me, certainly not based on current speculation.

For me the Apple Watch is a watch first, then a fashion accessory, then a notification device. Watch OS3 will make it even better. I cannot imagine being able to justify buying an Apple Watch 2. It will be a total non-starter if it's not compatible with the existing bands as I've invested a lot in those. I don't care about nonsense like GPS and barometers. My iPhone already has them and I'm never without it.

I have an iPad Pro. It's a luxury I could do without. I certainly couldn't justify upgrading it.

The only product that I could be tempted to upgrade is my MacBook Pro. It feels like Apple has fallen way behind its competitors with laptops. A tablet/laptop hybrid like some of the top end Windows machines would be perfect.

The Apple Watch 2 is going to be amazing

-GPS
-Oneglass watch
-barometer
-better battery
-better processor
-smart band support

So hyped ! This is going to be a fantastic purchase !

The only way I would buy another Apple Watch is if they make it bigger..this 42 mm is not cutting it for me. 45 mm would be perfect.

Ok, I'll play "what if"...

-GPS - Nah. Not needed as long as I'm going to be carrying my phone, which has a MUCH bigger battery for doing GPS. Besides, what use is GPS without cellular? My five-year-old Garmin has GPS and no cellular -- it won't tell me where Starbucks is, will it?

-Oneglass watch - Ok, as long as it looks good.

-barometer - …why?

-better battery - either a bigger battery or some new tech that's magically become production-ready since the last Buzzfeed article.

-better processor - To do what?

-smart band support - No. What for? To make bands so they can't be flipped and let the owner set the crown to the left? Add more clumsiness and weight?

Keep up your enthusiasm.

Debbie downer you are.

I love my watch. I'll probably upgrade. My one hope is that they allow us to use our gen 1 bands and offer a band-less version to save us $49 instead of having to buy the respective sport band version. I don't need another sport band.

My employer gives out bonuses this month. If I sucked and get a tiny bonus I'll probably just pick up the watch. If I did average, I'll probably go on vacation. If I killed it then I'll go on vacation and get a watch. Either way, I'm putting the majority in savings.

That's as likely as hoping that they'd offer an accessories-free iPhone to save us $67 ($19 for the charging brick, $19 for cable and $29 for EarPods) instead of having to buy the new iPhone with accessories that we already have.

Depends on how water resistant the new watch is. I use my Apple Watch in the pool almost every day, but I'm fully aware that it's on me if it leaks.

I'm not sure it's the everything watch I would need it to be yet. Cellular, ECG and Blood pressure monitoring support (as hinted at via patents) .. those might go a long way to making me jump on the bandwagon. Right now, It's a jumped up notification center for me... not enough to get me going.

I'll buy one of the rumors are true. Absolutely.

I'll buy one for sure. I love my Watch now and am anxious to get the latest and greatest. Funny, I was telling my wife yesterday for the first time I can remember I have no interest in upgrading to the latest iPhone, iPad or MacBook. What I have now for all three of these devices meet my current needs fine. But when the new Watch comes out I do plan on getting it. I told her she could have my old one if she wishes, but she really isn't into technology at all and doesn't have much interest.
I had he same discussion with my wife lol

I love my Apple Watch and have works. It every day since the day it was released, the only feature they need to add to make me happy is speed, everything else is just gravy. The thing is just way to slow at everything it does and every other computer in my life is faster and I have lost the patience to deal with slow machines.

It's the only improvement needed to get me to pre order a space black stainless steel model version 2.0

Watch OS 3 gives us a brand new Watch. It is so much faster. I think I will only buy a new Apple Watch in 2 years time as the stainless steel one I have is more than enough for my notification and fitness needs. I am really happy with my current AW. I would only buy a 2nd gen one if they have something really impressive that could potentially change my life.

Heh...as much as people were beating up on BarracksSi, the thread should have been titled "After the newest watch rumors...." :) Leaks actually implies a credible source...ideally less than half a world away from Cupertino. :)

Me, I'm more than happy still with my AW1. Running the betas for WatchOS, iOS and MacOS. Like the changes we have in WatchOS.

No plans to update to any new devices in the fall (across the board - all is working well).

Still not enough for me to pull the trigger on a second gen when first gen does everything I need it to. It's not like they are going to have heavy graphic intensive applications running on the watch, so I'm good where I'm at. I'll pick up a used one maybe... but chances are I'll wait for generation 3.

I've had my AW since launch day.

I just don't see any reason to upgrade until they do something major with it. GPS? Never leave home without my phone anyway. Better Processor? The recent updates made it fast already. Better battery? It's already fantastic.

It still looks the exact same? Yeah, i'll save the money.

But you are yet to see the revolutionary breakthrough that is the magical :apple:Watch 2. It will be so cool, beautiful and unbelievable 5x faster. It will have a new gorgeous, thiner, brighter and stunning accurate color display.

Never under estimate the POWER of Apple.:D

THINNER THINNER THINNER. I'm waiting until they make the digital crown thinner. Then I'll buy

The 'feature' I was referring to is the rumor that the OLED will be bonded directly to the crystal eliminating a layer of glass and making it thiner. This could allow a little more batt room or internal room but is only about ½ a mm. Until there is a breakthrough in battery tech (no time soon) or until efficiency increases (evolutionary and slow) to a point where significantly less power is needed we are not likely to see thiner :apple:Watches.

Latest rumors suggest that AW2 would be the same overall thickness despite the thinner display technology, perhaps to make room for more things added to the innards. Big ass watches are the trend these days so there's not a great motivation to make it thinner or smaller. The 42mm AW is actually smaller than my previous watch.
