They really need to sort the sizing of these dots out!

I actually agree with the post above.. I'm quite liking my red dot, adds a splash of colour against the grey.

To be honest, while the watchdots are slightly on the small side, it makes a significant difference on how they are applied, if they are off centre then they look a look worse. Here is mine, while you can still see a red ring if you look closely you can't tell at normal viewing distance once it is on your wrist.

I have always loved the colour black and red, previously had my Series watches Black SS and my dial was always Red

Now I have the best of both worlds :)

True, doesn't look bad from a distance, but bothers my OCD! lol They need to make them bigger though...

I would just sharpie the rest, if you plan on keeping it for a good few years

only thing I like about the red dot is it differentiates it from my S2 on my watch stand when I get up in the morning.

Is it possible Apple have slightly increased the size of the crown in S3?

I'd say it's more likely the red dot is bigger than the older black dot.

It would be interesting to hear from someone who’s used Watchdots on an S2 or earlier.

Gonna disagree with you there, kiddo.

And the fact that supplies cannot keep up with demand supports my position.

I was in the "who cares" crowd, but my co-worker has bought a new watch and it stands out like dog bollox.

Will those dots survive being in the shower, hot tub, swimming in a pool, or at the beach?

The red crown is fine. That red dot covering sticker looks pretty bad though.

This. Of all of my oddities with this watch, the red crown doesn’t bother me because I can’t even see it. Apple could have done better, but I’m not putting any ill-fitting dots on my watch.

If it’s on your left wrist and facing down the back on your hand then there’s nothing to get hung up about!

If you clearly see it and it’s catching your eye then take it back if you don’t like it and buy the Aluminium version instead

If it’s the ceramic or SS version then your just going to have to live with it, or as mentioned, get a black sharpie and colour it out

I’m not understanding when people say “the wearer can’t see it, so why is the red dot bothersome?”
I also can’t see my own hair, but I like to make sure I’m presentable.
It’s personal opinion. Some people like the look, others do not.
I didn’t like it when I first saw it, or after buying it, but it’s not as strong a dislike after wearing it for 2 weeks. Still can’t bring myself to sharpie it though. (Maybe I’ll want to sell it and I may not be able to get the marker off?)

If the red dot actually bothered me enough (Which it doesn't), I would rather use a black sharpie then use those ridiculous looking watch dots that don't even fit appropriately on the digital crown.

That wouldn't apply to me, because I don't sell my Apple Watches, nor would I use a black sharpie if I was desperate enough to cover up a red dot, which I'm not. I think the point is, if somebody owns a product, they're free to do what they want with it.

My point is many sell their devices, so the black sharpie is not a good idea. Of course anyone could do what they want to their watches who said they couldn’t?

Nor do we know if that sharpie marker can't be removed off that surface with rubbing alcohol either. If I recall correctly, another forum member already removed the black sharpie marker off the digital crown with a rubbing alcohol pad. Essentially your sharpie marker analogy is moot if that is accurate.

For reference: If you edit your post, then add "Edit" into your post so somebody knows that you changed your wording after the fact when I originally quoted you. It clears confusion and makes it easier for discussion.
