camera, battery, screen size, ram. Am I missing something else? For 100$ more its a no brainer for me
$100 isn’t nothing, but if I wanted a large phone I’d probably go with the pro. Not because it makes a difference, but because the gold looks nice.

100$ over 2 years is 4$ more a month. If you look at it like that id give up one Starbucks coffee a month to have all those extra features.$100 isn’t nothing, but if I wanted a large phone I’d probably go with the pro. Not because it makes a difference, but because the gold looks nice.
Do that many people have tiny hands? Idk. It's just curiosity.
I love my silver 12 Pro, but by far it’s biggest feature is the array of magnets situated on the short sides of the device to pick up fingerprints. I’ve had a silver X since launch day and it’s never looked like this does after 5 seconds out the case! The silver finish is really nice this year. The metallic colours have somewhat matured, but I wonder if in the future we will see some more finishes that mix and match - i.e. silver edges with a graphite back or something. Apple has not really done that before though, so perhaps not. Would also be a logistic nightmare I image when it comes to a consistent and practical supple chain inventory & flow
But I Would certainly welcome it
I'm still happily using my original SE, coming from a 5.5" android. I am still torn between keeping it or switching to the mini. I don't care about the camera, does the pro have any other extra?I never understood the "want" for the mini. It seems way too small. I think the 6.1 Pro is the perfect Goldilocks phone. I have had the Plus/Max versions for several years, and decided to go down a tad this year. Glad I did. I'm loving mine!
But, I'm happy that those who have been asking for a smaller phone get to finally have one.
When you use iOS with the original SE, you only have five rows of apps on the home screen instead of six. That’s why the default home screen has the last row empty on every phone except for the original SE (and the iPod touch). Why don’t they optimize iOS for each screen size?
Sad that the smallest screen looks exactly the same as the biggest screen. Lazy design.
Have you use an iPhone with the notch yet? Seriously, it's a complete non-issue. People have made wayyyyyy too much of a deal out of the notch. You don't even notice it in general use.
If they do it I hope they make both the pro and non-pro version of it.if only there was a phone bigger than a iphone 12 mini , and smaller than and iphone 12 max. They could call it iphone 12
Just adding to what others have already said, it's really all about the one handed use, the size, and the weight. For me, going from a XS the size/weight difference will be huge...while still retaining a screen that's larger than the 6/7/8. It's the phone I've been literally waiting for since the original SE and maybe the most excited I've been for an iPhone release since the 4. It won't be great for viewing some content like videos but I have a Macbook and an iPad for that. That's kind of shocking to me, as my experience has been totally different. If I'm viewing media, I almost always view fullscreen. I don't wear baggy pants, and all my phones have fit. I don't have large hands (I'm a small, Italian dude), and larger phones have been comfortable. Discreet while traveling sounds pervy (haha jk). And no phone has felt heavy. I'll take your word for public transit as I live in So Cal and we don't do public transit - unfortunately. I'd love to have it.
I appreciate your response. Answers my curiosity and broadens my understanding. Truly IDIC. I honestly wanted to understand how/why the "mini" folk are so excited as you all obviously are. Thanks!
Not only that, many of us are still using the original iPhone SE, which was only discontinued two years ago. That form factor was explicitly designed to be a one-hand phone, and in my opinion, is the perfect size.I love how all impressions are describing the mini as "incredibly small" like ok we were just using an iPhone 5S six years ago...
"It's nice to be able to use the whole phone with one hand" the fact that this is being touted as a "feature" baffles me. This should be a basic requirement for a portable device.

that's you. I would of given the mini a better look if they didn't give the max all the best features this year. Should of at least given the smaller pro all the same camera hardware imo.I wouldn’t pay a coffee a month to have a bigger phone.
