If there's no problem with your Apple product, go to a forum and search until you find one!

I'm positive there are some hyperanal, check it out with a magnifying glass folks out there, but they do far more harm than good to the average folks...

Notice how the review sites all had no issues?

Notice how no one can get a picture of the "issue"?

I'm sure it exists to some extent, but it's so minor, and is likely an occurrence on MOST ips lcd's Apple and otherwise, that the vast majority of folks would never notice or care unless the .01% screams bloody murder about the atrocity of it all.

It's their right to do so, but it doesn't mean they aren't a severe minority.

Air screen defect?

Yup, just noticed the same issue on mine. Yellow, grungy band on left-hand side about 1.5 inches wide. Not noticeable on some screens but with a light grey background, all-white screen, etc. it's quite apparent. Keys on keyboard are darker and yellower on left side. Typical Apple panel lottery I guess.

So what the heck do we do? Go to Apple and exchange? What if the one exchanged does the same thing?

Exchange until satisfied I suppose. I often find it easier to simply return and buy another. Easier to say you didn't like it and grab a new one somewhere else - no point trying to convince a Genius or CSR to see it, consider it exchange-worthy, etc.

Exchange now if u not happy waiting a couple if weeks means u get a servicem replacement which is not guaranteed to have all brand new components

Omg 26 replacement? Damn, i think if the 3rd is not good enough then stop and move on, 26 replacements must have taken u a couple of months.

No it took me 8 days

There's no way you swapped 26 iPads in 8 days through a single Apple store. You must have done it via some combination of different retailers. Apple will shut you down after 3-4 tries. I squeezed 5 swaps out of them but they were mighty sick of my face after that.

Did you actually do exchanges, or 26 buy/returns? Or a combo? My debit card would have imploded after just a few returns, since the money takes 3-5 business days to be credited to your account.

I managed to swap my iPhone 5 four times. First one had a dead pixel, all other 3 developed weird specks/dust under the camera lens over time. Current replacement seems to be holding up well.

Still Wrong...

I bought an iPad Air White 128 GB WiFi at Apple yesterday. I noticed the left side of the screen was slightly yellow. I went in today and I exchanged it. However, I had to go though 4 iPads at the store to find one where the issues wasn't as strong. I'm so, so disappointed. The iPad is fine, but it's not perfect.

After spending close to $950, I expected a little more.

I'm gonna go pick up my new ordered Air now. Wish me luck. My old one has a dead pixel, but no sign of this yellowish band.

Good thing is Bestbuy walmart and other stores also sell this thing. You have plenty of options to shop and return.

We spent a premium amount we deserve a perfectly premium device :)

Returned 3 - done for now. First had interlacing like I have seen on iPhones, 2nd had a faint horizontal dark line accross the bottom of the screen, 3rd was very uneven color and lighting + light bleed.

Here's what it looks like on mine, remember though this is quite hard to capture with a photo:

lol, your argument with brittany is pretty funny. She seems to be very, very ignorant, and more of an unintentional troll than anything else.

Its funny, the screens on your ipads are defects and she comes in here and is just ignorant and rude, then says youre casuing a fight

as to ad another analogy (although yours was very good)

Brittany, you don't go into a nursing facility, and say idk whats wrong with your bodies, mine is good! Then when they say you are being arrogant and rude say, why do you always cause fights with people.

btw nice insight, thanks for contributing (not to Brittany)

You didn't even have the balls to reply to my comment. Cute. Because I said have no problems with my screen I'm a troll and ignorant? You obviously don't know the meaning of those two words. Sensitivity is through the roof... In what way was I originally rude? I said I didn't have any problems with my screen, and that other guy had to reply sarcastically. He's constantly starting stuff with everyone. I see it, but I never say anything. What the hell do you expect me to say if someone replies to me in a rude/sarcastic way?

All of the people crying over my comment obviously have issues with their screen and are mad about it. Funny. Don't take your frustration out on me.

That's exactly what mine looked like. I returned it this evening in hopes later models will be better.

If people re determined to find issues, the issues will be there, guaranteed. Me, I have no plans to use my iPad to stare at all-white screens, so I'm not concerned, but that is just me.

Decided to make an appointment to exchange mine tomorrow. I'd like to know how the hell you guys are checking for defects on your screen with all of the halogen lighting they have in Apple stores.

Mine deffinitely doesn't have this issue. All very white. I consider myself quite picky.

This is mine btw. The new one I just got today.
First is all white wallpaper. Since I read about the darker left side. Now my brain tries to convince my eyes the left side is indeed a bit darker lol. But in reality it's all good to my eyes.

second is my new one (right) next to my old one. Note that I don't see darker left side on either one. The old one I returned because it had a dead pixel.

, last is black wallpaper

P/S: Home button at the bottom.

I'm settled with this one :)

My first ipad air had a rose tint to the overall screen, more intense at the bottom when in landscape. I noticed it as soon as I turned it on..

Replaced the same day by Apple genius after comparing with all of their floor models.

Second air is perfect.

Out of millions produced there are bound to be some issues but at least Apple stands behind their products.

Some Advice

I just want to offer some advice - when I noticed my iPad had a slight yellow tint on the left side, I decided to exchange it because I wanted it to be perfect.

At the Apples store, I opened 4 devices, some of which the issue was worse. I found one that was slightly better than mine. I think this issue will remain, or be cleared up shortly. With the iPad 2, there were light leakage problems that are still not quite resolved.

This minor screen defect with the yellow is really minor. If you can avoid going to exchange your device, don't. You could get stuck with a device that's worse than yours. As for me, I love my iPad air. I think it's gorgeous! If the issue is fixed in a month, ill book a Genius Bar appointment.

i was in a Best Buy store today, and they didn't have any Airs out on display yet. i was playing around with the ipad4 and the mini. i looked under the counter and there had to be 50 boxes of ipad4s all discounted slightly with stickers for "open box item" or something like that

at the time it seemed very strange to me

after reading this thread, i'm guessing this problem has existed in many previous ipads as well

It could just be lint or dents/dings pretty much any kind of return
