Personally, I think this thread is long In tooth and should be axed ASAP.
Nothing is gained by complaints by the same 10 posters or so and these look more and more like trolling.
Give up guys, nothing to gain here ;)

Why are you so concerned about it. If you haven't had any problems with your iPad then move along.

All the photos provided here prove absolutely nothing.
All iPads, sorry, not all (99.9%) are O.K.
You must be be very unlucky one, because millions of iPad users are happy.
What a useless topic this is.
Next....

86.9% of iPad Airs have tinting on the left side. 63% of buyers haven't complained or returned their iPads because of it.

See. Anyone can start making up numbers to prove their point.

Then how do you explain that you got 5 yellow iPads in 3-week period? If the store sells 100 iPads a day, that's more than 2000 iPads. Randomly drawing 5 yellow ones from 2000+ pool means that nearly all of them are yellow. If so, that would make 2000+ unhappy customers and will definitely generate a lot of negative buzz - you'll have a hard time getting in the store as it'll be flooded with unhappy customers with pitchforks.

I don't understand this from the basic probability theory perspective. Somebody explain this paradox!

In my earlier post I said that the iPads I got from my Apple store were all the same serial number series increasing in chronological order. So yes it is probable that they were from the same batch.

I am only reporting my experience - I am not making any kind of statement that all Airs are defective or anything like that. And like I said before - I am not sure I would believe my post if I was someone else reading it either so I don't take any offense that you are skeptical.

I agree. I can't even believe this thread is still alive. Got a defective screen? Exchange it and be done with it or buy a different device.

I think it's very good that this thread exists. It's very informative about the Air screen issue. I am however amazed that people are giving eachother hassle weather the issue exists or not. Brings me back to the mid / late 90s of internet forum behaviours.. Insults back forth just for the hell of it. Man, I thought we were past that long ago.

FYI, yesterday I picked up my first rMini LTE. The Srceen was great. I'm not going to do any "tests" on it. There are good screens out there.

It's not that simple if you have invested money in apps and other Apple products. Do you immediately get rid of your laptop or desktop and switch to a different operating system every time you run into a problem?

No, but if someone's tried 7 times for a perfect device and hasn't found one good enough for them, they should either live with it or buy a different device. My iPad air has a yellow tint on the left side, and I didn't notice it until I actually kept trying to look for it after reading these forums. It bothered me for a day, and then I forgot about it and moved on with my life. If there was a way to fix the yellow tint, I'd understand a 15 page thread, but nobody is even helping anyone. This thread should have died 10 pages ago.

This is right. For me with all the money spent is just impossible to get rid of Apple ecosystem.
The good thing is that I'm very happy about it.

No, I wouldn't return it 7 times either. My frustration comes from the fact that no reviews mention the problem and many people have bought ones without the problem, so it shouldn't be there. It's a defect. I don't feel I should have to just settle for that. I would just like a screen that is close to the quality of the previous iPads I owned. I don't see how that is asking for too much.

People say they don't have an uneven screen, but they probably do. I'll sometimes see a picture of someones screen and I'll think it's fine, but if I keep looking at it, I'll eventually notice it's slightly uneven. It's usually not noticeable if you're not actively looking for it which is why reviewers haven't mentioned it. You shouldn't have to settle for it, but that's just the way it is. If people buy an iPad and use a white screen to check to see if the screen is uniform, they'll probably find something wrong. If someone wants an iPad with a screen that's up to their standards they can buy an iPad 3, 4 or an iPad mini.

That is exactly what i did...got a refurb ipad4....and I'm happy with it. TBH i discovered a very slight unevenness on it as well....but it was nowhere as pronounced as the air, and much less noticeable. The lower price of the ip4 also played a part in lowering my expectations.

Anyway, after 2 charging cycles, the unevenness disappeared on its own. I cant explain or complain.

I just think its a bit disingenuous for people who dont have a problem to come on here and start accusing others of making up stuff and other conspiracy theories. Most of the complaints are from people who are fans of apple too...and just disappointed that this is happening.

I agree, but the unevenness shouldn't cause colors to alter across the screen. That's too much. Slight dimness on the edges wouldn't bother me. As I mentioned before, I didn't actively look for it, I noticed it right away and before knowing about anyone else having the same problem.

Do Apple actually have anyone checking display quality?! Almost every type of device they produce has screen defects and inconsistencies.

It's so frustrating.........hoping mine is ok when it arrives :)

Can someone post a pic?

You people are unbelievable. I have had 4 iPhones and 4 iPads and have never had a screen issue. Stop looking for problems.

The people who are unbelievable are those who don't have a problem but come here for the sole purpose of insulting those who do.

Why do some people care if people return their devices to get a perfect one? I would to if I was unhappy with the device.

Apple charges insane premiums for their devices if you are not completely happy then you SHOULD take it back and do whatever you can until you are satisfied with the device you paid for, if the screen is not up to your standards there is nothing wrong with returning it.

The people here suggesting that simply because they always had devices that suited them means that no one could possibly have a device that bothered them or wasn't up to their standards are absurd. Something that doesn't bother me or someone else doesn't mean another person won't be irritated by it.

Because it has gotten so out of control, with people going through as many as 7-8 iPads. If you look for a problem, you will find a problem. I have never had any screen problems with 4 iPhones (1, 3G, 4 & 5), 4 iPads (1, 2, 3 & Air) and three MacBooks. I don't understand people who have this many problems. They must be seeing something that's just not there.

You just said if they look for a problem they'll find a problem then turn around and say they're seeing something that's not there. Which is it?

NO even if you test something rigorously you should not find any problems and if you do then by god you should return it. A device that costs this much should be PERFECT.

We have already 2 ipads (iPad 4 and iPad Mini) + 2 iPhones (iPhone 5 and iPhone 4s) at home.

And on those devices I didn't find any issue on their screens as I found on the x th iPad Air I've got and swapped... I mean I'm not looking at the iPad Air screens with a microscope to find out something wrong and I were able to see easily & quickly that the screens was looking not consistent/uneven on each unit I got. My aim is just to get a "quite" even screen.

Who cares. I've had very few issues with any computer hardware I've bought too.

Very few people have returned 7-8. You're just exaggerating to make your point look better.
