I agree. I can't even believe this thread is still alive. Got a defective screen? Exchange it and be done with it or buy a different device.

Here's a tip/suggestion for you, Max, etc. Tired of this thread? Want it to go away? Sick of reading complaints about Apple devices?

Solution: Quit reading or posting in this or similar threads.

Win-win for all involved. It's really a ridiculously obvious and simple solution.

I haven't opened this thread in literally weeks. Honestly, I don't even get the point of this thread. You act like you're helping each other out, but all I see are the same posts in different form. "I paid 700+ bucks, It should be perfect" Ok, well guess what? It's not. So exchange it and move on with your life. Problem solved. It's always the same 10 people. The only thing this thread has really succeeded in doing is scaring other iPad users. If that was your point, well then you did a great job.

So, you pop into this thread once in a while to lecture how ridiculous everyone is being and how they need to get a life. How is that helping anyone? Aren't you part of the problem you're complaining about?

I mean before yesterday, obviously.

I pop in to see why the hell this thread is still here because I'm honestly baffled as to why it hasn't died already, and I laugh a little at a few of the posts. I'm not claiming to be helpful, but I find it funny that other people think they are when they're posting the same things.

Not quite following you why a thread is causing you so much grief but I hope you find some way to cope with it. Problems will come up with any product and it's natural for people to post if they experience them. Nothing really to get upset about. No product is perfect.

It hasn't died because the issue still exists.

I know that, but what else is there to say about it?

Maybe because it needs more exposure so apple gets their act together, and maybe acknowledges there is a production problem?

Iam on my 3rd ipad air and still got display issues. The book spine on the left side to be precise. The apple care asked me to wait until january to see if good units come up so i hopefully can get a good unit.

I love apple products and my old ipad mini was perfect. But this is unnacceptable from a company that boasts itself for its quality and craftsmanship.

You could say that about any problem. What else is there to say about all the issues with IOS 7 everyone is complaining about? No one can do anything about it until Apple fixes them.

I don't understand why it is so difficult to accept there might be an issue with some of the iPad panels. What is so unbelievably crazy about that idea?

Nothing .... until I saw someone returning 6-7-8 units :D

That's really not unbelievable at all.

Im on my 3rd unit instead of my 8th, because I dont wanna play russian roulette again until a better rate of good units start being produced.

If i kept exchanging you can be sure that i would probably still not have an acceptable unit.

I can agree with that reason.

And this is most probably because you are keep returning perfectly functional units ....

So, are you telling me i have some kind of mental disorder even though I've never had these problems with later ipads or android tablets?

I must be crazy right? These screen issues must definitely the fruit of my and a lot of other people's imagination. Also everyone must be photoshoping pictures and videos displaying the problem.

Later iPads ? A very little search on you showed me you first apple device ever is an iPad mini bought a few months ago, sold to buy the Air ...

I'm not calling you a liar, I don't know you, but I think you and a few others are just exaggerating things over this issue.
Surely there are defective units (in ALL the thread I maybe saw a couple of pictures showing me a display worthing a return ... But there are), but I also see people returning units that in my opinion, judging by some photos, are just fine.
Wrong expectations ? Maybe ...
Astroturfing ? Well, not entirely unexpected on a very popular forum like this, but who knows (I'm not speaking about YOU, just in general) .... http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/24/taiwan-fines-samsung-for-astroturfing-internet-comments/

Yes, my first apple device was the ipad mini, which I've sold to buy the ipad air. But I've already had seen and played with my friend's ipads 2 and 4 before, . Those screens were perfect, the quality of the apple displays was one of the main reasons ive fell in love with apple products. Unlike my ipad air's.

And by the way. Im not being payed for expressing my disappointment about the air. I just want apple to consider my feedback and get me a good unit.

It is very fortunate for Apple's sake that people like Max and some others don't work for them . It's this kind of people who ruins the business and make big companies bite the dust.
Explaining to customers with a big smile and arrogance that they're dumb.
As I always said, it's because of Apple's great customer service that despite the problem we currently have with the iPad Air, we will remain faithful to the brand. It's because we love Apples products that we don't give up on the Air. Because Apple somehow recognize we have an issue, they exchange our flawed units. Apple don't tell us we have perfectly functional units, they trust their customer and blindly replace suspicious items. This is what customer service is about . Constant attention to their customers is what brought Apple where it is. To the top.
Undoubtedly with attitude like ' no Sir we're sorry but your product is perfectly functional ' Apple would have died long time ago.

Some who were posting pictures and asking if their screen was okay probably
did have good iPads. There were other examples that showed it, but you said you saw nothing wrong.

It would be a bad attempt at astroturfing, since, according to you, an insignificant number of people are complaining about it.:)
