Dang, didn't get my order in before it slipped to 12/29... Hopefully that estimate might improve somewhat and maybe I can still have them for Christmas :D

Ordered with an education discount... will be interesting to see how well they work, have been saving for a pair of wireless headphones for a while. Honestly, when I'm commuting I place greater value on convenience than sound quality, so here's hoping they work well.
I am a student, what was the discount? I only see the usual price on the education website? Any way I can call Apple and get the lower student price on my order?

Apple picked a really odd time to release these. Everyone in their home town SF (California) got screwed, with no chance of getting them for Christmas (unless they woke up very early). As an East Coaster - my response is - finally!!!!! we're sick of waking up at 3 in the morning to order our phones!!!!!

9to5 mac already just posted an article saying how it shipping has slipped till after christmas delivery. are we in the UK getting more stock than the US or something?

Delivery dates just slipped to Dec 29. Glad I got my order in before that happened!

I hope mine gets bumped in light of some people cancelling , argh!

I dont need it by Christmas but that's what waiting gets me!

I guess shoot first ask questions later since there's a return policy, instead of thinking deeply about this one

When I logged in via Unidays, it brought the price down from £159 to ~£142. Not incredible, but better than nothing. Maybe it's different in different countries? I'm in the UK.

I've seen people do cartwheels with these things on and they remained in the ear. I guess they could be dislodged if someone jumped from an airplane without a parachute and splat into the ground.
Falling out isn't the biggest problem, it's just putting them somewhere and then getting lost. Like keys, only smaller and way more overpriced. Also, there is a great solution for it already out there - a cord.

well I was going to buy but it slipped past xmas and only use my wireless solo2's when I am vacuuming and such so I suppose I will wait for reviews and then order a pair. Or, like I do with almost all new devices I'll go to the Apple store in Annapolis and buy a pair on release day (they always have extra phones and iPads or whatever else on release day).

Why is the date 21st in America but 19th in the UK? Sorry if it's already been answered. I'm not looking through all the posts!

I already have a Bluetooth set for exercising (plantronics back beat), but I wouldn't get these anyway, for the sole reason that it requires Siri commands to pause/play music.
I have the same ones. Highly underrated set of workout headphones. Use these suckers everyday at the gym and love the controls on the ears. I ordered the airpods but I feel like I'm gonna Miss using my backbeats

Noticed that yesterday too, when I had my Plantronics BT headset paired and it was in use. The Battery widget finally showed up yesterday (shows iphone and headset battery level), but later in the afternoon, it was gone again.

It seems the battery widget only shows when there is a BT headset paired. The headphone icon at the top I assume is showing me the headset battery level?

It's called taking care of your stuff. Like you take care of keys (I imagine losing your car or house keys is a bigger problem really), but then you seem determined to find something negative to say about the AirPods regardless of what anybody says. Don't you have a life to lead today, or you just want to destroy the fun for others, and that's your goal for today?
