Definetly this years Apple product I am least exited about.

I wish that was the case for me, then I would be less bummed about them being delayed. These are literally what I've been waiting for Apple to announce and release for awhile. :(

I would consider buying a pair of these so long as they fit similarly to the stock buds that come with the iPhone. For some reason they're the only type of in-ear headphones that don't fall out and aren't painful in my ears.

Also it'd be cool if they made a gloss black color option to go with my Jet Black phone

I'm sure they will fit the same. That's why I'm excited for these too. The EarPods are the only comfortable in-ear for me as well.

I hope they have a find-it function so the phone can find them when one inevitably falls out. I want a set and if they fit well will likely keep them. Might try to attach something so they don't get lost though.

Life goes on. At least for some. For others it's just another bash Apple with a juvenile snarky remark, day.

I'm sad now. I really wanted a pair of these.

I wonder what issue they overlooked to push the release back 3 months?

Can bluetooth do direction/distance? I'm not sure the signal degrades like that. Wouldn't it need to be within 6 feet regardless?

That's okay. Get them right.

It is not ok - get them right and on advertised time !!!

It is not an either or game.

What in the world is Apple doing with all the high paid engineering talent they have and continue to hire? That magical pipeline that Cook continues to spew simply carries no weight any longer. There is a growing disjoint between his rhetoric / huge engineer resources and the products we can actually purchase.

This really pisses me off... no the world won't end, but there's ZERO accountability on Apple's part. They released the phone and promised the solution to the headphone jack wouldn't be an issue because the Airpods would be out in 45 days or less. Then that didn't happen. Now I have a phone I have no way to charge and listen to music at the same time, and I bought the phone relying on Apple's commitment to bringing out the Airpods within 45 days. It's bad enough they RAISED the cost of the iPhone this year, but not sure I can't take this horrible operation Apple is running much longer. There's too many competing products to be treated like Apple is doing me a favor.

I was excited for them at first, but that excitement has waned considerably by now. It's not good to miss the holiday shopping quarter. So to keep everything straight: They removed the headphone jack on the iPhone 7, promised this wondrous wireless future—which is now delayed, and released a new MacBook Pro with a headphone jack that doesn't even plug into their new Lightning headphones and doesn't have a port which you can plug an iPhone into. WAT. Apple is getting more and more confusing every day. Please let this not be the early 90s all over again. I say this because I care and I'm concerned.
perfectly stated. nothing additional to add. thanks.

I am really looking forward to those.

And I am particularly happy that Apple takes its time to get it right. I mean, we put it in our ears: you don't wanna have them to explode there. ;)

Meh, I've waited years for truly wireless buds to add to my collection of cans. I'm sure I can wait a little longer.

With any luck they'll use the time to integrate better audio controls than having to use Siri. Both that I'll hold my breath for that to happen.

This is unfortunate. But if it means Apple prevented a premature product release with issues that may have inconvenienced customers, then I am content waiting for a refined product. Still a day one purchase for me.

Who in their right mind actually find these things a) comfortable and b) containing good sound quality? IMO just because Apple makes them doesn't mean that they're actually any good. Pass.

You're missing option 3, where I fall in. Good enough for specific use cases.
I don't expect them, or any earbuds to replace my good quality cans.
I don't expect them to replace my Sony Bluetooth headphones either.

What I do want them for is when I'm pottering about in the garden, or working on my car, or various other situations when wires get in the way, or my full sized Bluetooth cans sometimes slip down my head a bit. I've wanted truly wireless buds for years for those situations. Why Apple and not the competition? Because none of them are particularly great but the Apple ones at least offer simplicity for using them with all of my devices. I like simplicity some times.

These things are never going to be audiophile items. That doesn't make them useless.

My guess is, somebody on the infinite loops finally realized the earbuds are just dandy for a child to use as a teething object and just small enough to swallow and choke to death on. That $200 billion in the Irish banks is just a big sign to class-action lawyers saying 'sue us, please'.

Powerbeats are a good alternative for anyone that doesnt want to wait due to getting the apple watch, I use them running with my apple watch nike plus, and they are great, I always find when running if you wear a beanie, the headphones stay in with no wiggles. Looking forward to getting these when they become available, would rather wait and they be trouble free than get them with issues.
