AirPods Might Not Launch Until January 2017

All those people who argued for jettisoning the headphone jack because wireless is "the future" meant it literally.:eek:

Now I get it. ;) Actually, apparently I don't... until January.

Now where's that dongle? :p

And where's that other dongle to sync with my new MBs that did NOT come with a lightning jack. :p

I hope I can easily find both such dongles at Mac128's 7/11 store at 3am when I need one. :p

EarPods .........courage....belch bottom! they spent half an hour talking about this piece of crap and can't ship them out. Just like the stupid touch bar....no use for a real pro user. try working on the LG 5k external display with the MacBook pro sitting in front of you, inconvenient and unnecessary

At least we know a projected launch date, better than "coming soon".

Oh, I dunno. It's not the end of the world.

Maybe visit some of your friends and spend some quality time with them? Call up a relative on the other side of the country and have a deep and meaningful conversation with them? I could go on. Maybe you can think of something...
 
surprised they did not try the apple watch approach.
"We are launching October 31" (because they said october).
"Well actually you can order them on October 31."
"Actually you can see them in the stores on October 31 and we will 'help' you order them in store".
"When ordering you will note that the due to demand, it will ship in January."

I mean it worked well for the Angela and the watch, right?

I'm surprised how well some of you are taking it. Obviously there's a lot of hate, but to see even a handful of people trying to spin it positively is shocking ("oh I can wait a few months, there's always beats 3"). It's bad plain and simple. This was a highlight in the iPhone 7 announcement so at worst it should have been just getting enough in stock before the holiday. If they can't even sell them until after it must be something more critical which should have been addressed before September.
 
don't care. I want them. I just want them to be amazing. Apple needs to spend time perfecting these devices.

Ideally that would be the case but things happen. You are overreacting. It's better to get it right than for your headphones to blow up while you use them.

These things must really be from the future - distant future apparently. But yeah, keep removing useful ports and features we use in the present Tim.

Why would the new mbp come with lightning port? There is no lightning to lightning cables... you are a living proof of how smart ppl there are on this forum, read more and more stupid and idiotic things here everyday

There is lightning to usb and lightning to usb-c cables
 
Good thing they pulled that 3.5mm jack. It was just in the way. :rolleyes: Where is our supply line guru now?
 
Field tests revealed: half of them were lost. They are still trying to find them, before testing can continue...
 
Apple desperately need Tim Cook back as COO, his strength is the supply chain, getting the product to consumers. Since Cook took over as CEO Apple has missed his woke was COO.

Oh well. I really wanted these, but if Jan is correct that's too long to wait. So I just bought the Powerbeats 3. Same W1 chip, multiple sizes, connected via wire which doesn't bother me. Solves all the possible negatives for me.
