Does anyone know how the EarPods get charged? I mean the connection between each AirPod and the carrying case; I think the carrying case itself has a lightning port for charging but not sure about that hidden connection on AirPods when they go into the case.

I'm not going to lie. This mess of announcing a product before it was even done with the engineering phase and promising a release date, more than anything, cause me to lose faith in Apple. I sold my shares when they hit $115. I don't see them going much higher in relation to other things I could do with the money.

Blah blah only Apple sheep are buying them. Blah blah Apple has lost their innovation. Can't wait for the negative posts to start flooding in. Clearly there is a demand for new Apple products that is angering a very small vocal amount of people.
And then all the positive posts on release day saying how they're wrong (as always) and that the AirPods are brilliant.

The base of the stem is metal. When inserted the contact is used for charging

And version 2.0 being prepared for shipping in 2017.

With better reception & improved battery life.

Clearly Apple is limiting supply. Just like how Apple limits supply of every iPhone launch. /s

I'm not knocking Apple here so don't anyone freak out, but this could also be evidence of limited supply.

Go beta testers go...

Fair enough but for $159 this is a pretty insignificant amount. You of course would pay significantly more with your 23% VAT and import taxes. We are happy to do this for you as it would be a substantial amount of your earnings to even try.

I bought Macs in Poland before so I can feel your pain.

Okay. Thanks so much for telling us that.

my only concern is Siri doing everything

I've said this at the outset when these were introduced. The lack of physical controls for volume and skip features is a glaring omission.

I'm not sure what the design brief was and perhaps it was meant to work only with an iPhone.

Even so, imagine wanting change the volume when you're in packed subway car, with your iPhone buried deep in your briefcase or purse.

Considering how easy it will be to lose one of these I'm guessing some people will spend more time waiting for them to arrive than actually owning them... lol

Not impossible, but why would it be easy to lose one? First of all, from every review thus far, and common sense, you have be doing something that will either knock it out of your ear or twist your head in such a way to cause it fall. Itself a rare event, but assuming that rare events happens, a bright white cylindrical object will fall to the ground. Since these aren't going to be used for extreme sports, assuming you have reasonable sight and physical dexterity 99% of the time you will simply look down and pick it up.

Just love the people concerned about losing them. Take care of your sh*t. Same people in the Apple stores complaining that they didn't break their screen and want everything for free. Take responsibility. And for the people complaining about them. Don't buy them simple.

Anyone think it's stupid that they use a lightning port to charge when everything is heading quickly to USB-C?

Amen. iPhone 7 should have ditched Lightning in favor of USB-C. That would have been the best move for the consumer...but not Apple's dongle sales.

These from Bragi are supposed last 6 hours. https://www.bragi.com/theheadphone/

Bragi have a lot of promise, and hopefully they will keep improving to give Apple competition, but they have had a very rough ride thus far. Earliest one had horrible reviews, latest is better where they have removed features to try and eliminate problems with some of their tech, but still lots of problems. Here's just one sample
