What part of 'smartphone manufacturers are not oblidged to make sure the supplied smartphone headphones work on your computer as well, regardless of universal standard.' The MacBook and iPhone are not sold as a pair. That's like saying I'm going to buy a motorbike, but the wheels on this bike had better fit my car too because wheels are a universal standard. The fact you need a connector for the iPhone to plug into the MacBook is a different matter because you need to connect the two for data backup and syncing. The earphones are seperate to that though.
Whatever. Keep justifying it. Read my post again. Apple is the new Microsoft. Google : microsoft+embrace+and+extend

Hmm. will pass on these. I run alot and without wings or some type pressure again the ear canal. These will be falling out while running. Would like to see ads now showing people running with them.

Evidently, there are lots of people who aren't concerned about the short battery life or the possibility of losing them. Apple seems to have another successful product launch on its hands, once again defying early criticisms.

There's an interesting review here, where the user tries to dislodge the AirPods:

I FIRMLY believe these will be a huge success. I can't wait to get mine.

These honestly look great - my only concern is Siri doing everything. In a loud gym, I always skip tracks, change volume from my headphones (hence why Apple added hardware controls to headphones over time).

Maybe it's me, but being surrounded by a bunch of people and saying "Turn down the volume" at the gym seems awkward. Let alone if I'm running and out of breath.

This is something I've been wonder about since day one. I seem to be one of the few people I know who actually likes using Siri for acutual productivity, but I just can't fathom having to bring up Siri EVERY time I want to pause, skip, change volume, take a call, etc.

This is actually why I thought AirPods were being delayed, because Apple was trying to fine tune a catalog of taps and long presses to act as controls similar to EarPods' inline controls.

Even the Bragi Dash and *shudders* Samsung IconX, have touch controls for more than one interaction.

I feel like it's kind of heavy to have to double tap, wait for the audio to pause temporalily, wait for Siri to activate, tell Siri what I need, wait for Siri to process it, and wait for Siri to activate it. At that point, I might as well just use my watch or phone to pause, skip, reverse, take a call, change the volume.

Not saying that I wouldn't use Siri on it, I will, even for these simple tasks (sometimes), and I really can't wait for these to arrive, but I think Apple could've slipped in more articulate touch controls. Nonetheless, AirPods are an engineering feat, and will undoubtedly improve with time.

No i won't be reading your post because you do not conduct yourself in a gentlemanly manner therefore you do not qualify for anymore of my time. Good day
BWAHAHAHAHA. Yeah that is what I thought. If you are gonna debate, at least choose something you can win on.

Voice control is so SLOOOOOOW. Well designed physical/touch interfaces are much faster.

Why are people concerned about losing them? How did you keep track of your USB stick? Put it in a place where you know you won't lose it maybe? Hell you even get a case to keep them safe and together.

And then all the positive posts on release day saying how they're wrong (as always) and that the AirPods are brilliant.

Wellll... they might not come out so honestly that they were talking out of their as*es when they complained incessantly, but will surely be on MR praising to high heavens the glorious AirPods! :D

I foresee the admittance of ignorance coming slowly in waves or... not at all in favor of abject denial that they ever doubted the legitimacy and usefulness of AirPods.

OR many of us will be repeating the story of the King who has no clothes.

Just what wireless headphones need: a wire! Genius!

Also, it's too perfect that the wire gets wrapped around the case. How long until that cable gets tangled? Hahahahahaha

The irony is too good.

Sure cause that's what happened when the Apple Watch came out, or the iPad, or the original MacBook Air, or the iPhone, or the iPod, or the original iMac, or...

Sure that is a part of it. I am not deriding the success of the company. More of the lemming effect that has ABSOLUTELY helped in that success. Please tell me that many (not necessarily a majority) Apple customers are not lemmings who will purchase whatever Apple offers because #Apple.

Or lift up wrist, change whatever the hell you want, put wrist down.

OR...while I'm on the treadmill at the gym, my phone is right in front of my face anyway. Boom. There you go.
The point is to be phone free (the point of wireless) I for one dont run on a treadmill so i like keeping the phone safely away in a pocket or armband when running on a trail. Not everyone has a watch. The jury is still out on how are they going to stay put while working out. It seems these earphones are not targeted for working out. So im not the intended target. Still having to use siri to change volume or skip tracks is cumbersome.

Great video. The one thing that I noticed which was cool but could be a problem is when he took one out of his ear and the music paused. That's cool but what if you want to listen to music in one ear. For example, I have kids and I'll watch youtube or something with one earphone on so I can still hear or respond to my family. I wouldn't be able to that with these UNLESS, they wait for you to put it back in the charger and then run mono. If anyone knows, chime in.

you'll be long dead by the time that happens.

I love the idea of AirPods and the way they charge, but if they're shaped like the Apple ear buds that ship with the iPhone, they will be falling out of my ears. I wish I could try them on in person. Ear buds that do not fit snug will not sounds rich and full. I wish that they would have used the silicon attachable fitters instead. I guess I will go with the Wireless BeatsX (in 2-3 months). o_O

I see your point but for me personally anyway, its not an issue. I have a pair of plantronics backbeats right now for the gym and despite them having great controls on both ear pieces, i still just lift up my phone to do everything. Maybe its habit. I don't know. Today when i was on the elliptical i had my phone on the little holder thing on the machine and just woke the screen to change tracks or volume. No watch needed. And when I'm out hiking trails or climbing mountains, i tend to not change tracks or volume much anyway.

So...you have valid points but i guess i don't really care about them. There's a set of headphones for everybody and this pair won't be good for everybody.

From what i hear, you CAN try them on in person at apple stores next week. They have an area like the Apple Watch where you can try them on and see if you like them. Just make sure they're clean first!

I cut the wires off the earpods that came with my phone and just stuck those suckers in my ears to try out the fit. They didn't move once. What Tim Cook said about the wire tugging them was right on the market. With no wire, they stay in like they were made for my ears

I'm looking forward to these but I'm worried about them falling out of my ears. The current EarPods don't stay in my ears very well, but some people online said that the AirPods are better in this regard. Otherwise I could always buy a third party attachment that helps wedge them in better when I exercise (my exercises are not very intense).

agree with most...Think ill wait this go around and let others beta test these..They should be all kinked out by the time the next phone gets here, then I will pounce!
