I just hope these fit my ears better. Currently on the Airpods 2. Can't go to Airpods 3 because of the shape change. And the pros fall out. Max is too big to wear outside.

Not sure why they had to change the shape of the base model

I am old. I remember the day when Apple surprised us with new features ("One more thing") rather than months long rumors that become 'no feature at all' when the actual product comes out.
I think rumor culture is to blame not Apple. We’re disappointed because we’re expecting things from what rumors are saying, not Apple. You want to be surprised, and have reasonable expectations, don’t read any rumors.

airpods have no place having these features in the first place. these features are definitely something that the watch should be taking care of.
Actually, the most accurate way to measure body temperature is through your arm pits, under your tongue, in your butt and in your ears. So it makes more sense for it to be in your AirPods over your watch.

I feel like during r&d, Apple’s like “wouldn’t it be cool”, and someone overhears the idea and leaks it. So we’re told it’s being released, meanwhile they’re only starting to try to develop something that takes years to develop. At this point we only have ourselves to blame for the frustration of anything not being released.

just like anti-marvel making rumors about dr strange having 100+ cameos, then fans gets excited on rumors getting disappointed.

But the Pros come with multiple different sized ear tips. If none of those fit your ears there is no hope I fear.

Thats what worries me. The right was perfect. The left kept falling out regardless of tip size. I guess I can always rebuy gen 2 airpods when mine can't hold a charge, but it is only a matter of time before they are discontinued.

As expected.

Let me guess, we won’t get all those cool health features in the Series 8 either? It’s always next year, then the following year and so on…
Features no one wanted anyways in AirPods.

Unless it manages to improve battery life by a lot, if there is no new tech features than I think Apple should not release a new version "just because".
Who cares if they haven't got improvements for a few years, they are still great today compared to competition.
I also wonder what could justify a new version? Is battery life a problem right now? Not for me and I use them on most work day for eight hours interrupted by multiple short breaks now and then. For me it would be great if the noice cancelling would get much better. I would hove to be able to cancel keyboard noise and talking humans out.

If I had to guess, incorporating health tracking into the AirPod Pros cost too much of a hit to battery life, which is why the rumors are changing. No doubt Apple produced hundreds of headsets with health tracking in them for testing - hence the leak about these features.

Soo.. rumours is just lies to make money. Got it.
It's doubtful they are lies. It's more likely Apple has been testing the health features and didn't meet their standards for making it into the next release (likely things like battery life were an issue).

This was to be expected… too much innovation in one product. For Apple that’s enough for 4 product generations.

Given how 'bad' the pulse ox feature is on the AW7, Apple is right to drop those 'features' from the Airpods.

'Feature rich' usually means more complex for normal people to use and navigate. Keep them simple, please Apple...

Got to throttle the release pipeline, keep 'em coming back for more.

Heart rate and body temp? You got 2 gens right there...

They will probably make it so you need the watch and headphones in order benefit?

Damn Apple, you really have turned me into a cynic.

I can see how heart rate monitoring is unneeded, especially as the Apple Watch already does it so well, but the ear seems to be a good place for getting accurate temperature readings so it's a pity Apple aren't including that feature.

Considering how we're in the era of covid and given how much time my AirPods 3 spend in my ears, having something that notices my temperature going up and can alert me early would be quite valuable.

I’ve had the original air pod pros replaced multiple times for various reasons, but all for free under various apple policies. My case is dying though, and I’m trying to hold for the 2’s instead of spending 80 on a case.

I’ll turn off any health features if it has them, as I’m not interested in that functionality and would prefer longer battery life, better noise cancelling, and usb c.

Temperature reading would definitely be beneficial to humanity. As a member of the executive board, I would demand they postpone the product until it is able to make it into the device.

Have you tried any of the third-party tips?
