Have an issue where only one side will connect and I have to unpair and repair them
I've never had the Pro's, but that happens to my 2nd gen regular AirPods, but usually placing the unconnected one in the case, waiting until the charge light comes on, then putting it back in my ear makes it reconnect. The odd time that it doesnt, putting both back in and out again works...

I haven't used them much since iOS16 so i can't say if it's gotten better or worse in that regard.

I still just don’t really get the huge attraction of wireless headphones. They just seem like a lot of hassle for no advantage other than the one, obvious aspect of not being tethered to the device. Apparently that means a lot more to others than to me. Oh well, I hope they’ll fix this soon for everyone affected.

I love them when they are working. I just started getting the drop-offs to MBP Pro. Super annoying. Googled it & came here to discover this is an issue. Hopefully, it will be resolved soon.
Mine work just fine. I think you're doing something wrong.

I don't get the attraction to wired headphones. A big nuisance if you ask me.

I experienced this problem on my very first connect after pairing to my phone. I thought it might have had to do with the fact I had *just* unpaired my old ones (and literally had them in my ears when the new ones arrived). I did a restart on my phone and haven’t had any issues since.

So far mine have been fine, but upgrading from the original AirPod pros has been a bit underwhelming. Hardly the life change ijustine described it as. I just hope the claim of battery life is true as my 14 pro max which is worse than a year old 13 pro max with 80% battery health.

🎵 … Bluetooth 5.3 is just another word for another connection to lose … 🎶

Ps full disclosure, I don’t care, because apple will fix it, and I’ll be buying a pair!

Some users of the second-generation AirPods Pro are reporting ongoing issues with their brand new earbuds randomly disconnecting from their devices as they listen to music or watch a video.

According to user reports on the MacRumors forum as well as readers of MacRumors that have reached out to us directly, the new AirPods Pro may sometimes randomly disconnect from an iPhone while playing music or watching a video. In other instances reported by users, an iPhone or iPad may show the AirPods Pro as connected, but no audio is actually played. Reports suggest the bugs are sporadic and not caused by anything specific, with no clear fix.
Such problems are not entirely unique to the second-generation AirPods Pro, as customers of the original AirPods Pro that launched in 2019 have reported similar issues in the past. The new AirPods Pro, having launched three years after the original, has caused some users to be frustrated that bugs related to connectivity are seemingly not yet addressed.

The new AirPods Pro began arriving to customers on Friday, so it's still unclear just how widespread the bug is. Users facing similar issues with their new AirPods Pro are encouraged to make sure the AirPods and their iPhones are updated to the latest firmware and iOS version. The latest firmware for the second-generation AirPods Pro is 5A377.

Ok what two people have reported this. Obviously an issue with THEIR AirPods. Not the majority. AirPods are perfectly fine.

I’m having this issue with mine, seems to randomly disconnect or stop playing audio and I have to re-connect them for sound to start playing again. Hoping it’s just a software bug that’ll be fixed with an update.

Stuff the September release cycle! Release new products and software when they are ready. The world won't stop spinning if Santa Claus has a few less gadgets in his sack.

Apple are sitting on billions upon billions of dollars in cash, yet they are driven by an accountant whose main concern is keeping shareholders happy. I've worked with people like that. Ship it! Get it out the door!

How about keeping your customers happy instead?

Received my APP2. So far they are a huge leap forward over the APP1. Audio is beautiful, cancellation good enough not to hear a lawnmower nearby. Zero issues at all (iPhone 14 Pro w 16.1 beta 2).

Have had no issues until today cutting the grass with ANC on. When I was using the trimmer, anytime it would hit the aluminum fence the AirPods would make an electric noise.

I've had this same flakiness with the original AirPods Pro. Seems to come and go, and usually get solved with a reset.

I am having same issue with pro 1 after recent software update. I hope apple will release fix soon. It is almost irritating at this point.

iJustine always overreacts.

I'm sorry you fell for the ijustine BS.
