I'm having most of these problems. It can take almost a minute to reconnect and there are random short dropouts all the time. I hope this is a software fix

compiled a list of problems i seem to have with the airpods pro 2 so far

Ever since I unboxed it I've been having problems, in particular on Windows.

  1. The AirPods Pro Gen 2 will just suddenly distort and warp audio before disconnecting on Windows PCs, happened to me 3 times after I first got it, I reset it and the issue rarely happened, it continued to happen when I walked out of the room, the APP1 had a much better range when it came to actually being able to leave my room. Now whenever I exit my room and go into the next one it will distort, warp, and disconnect. This never happened before as typically I would be able to even go outside of my house before the APP1 would begin to stutter then disconnect, and they would never warp or distort.
  2. There is a weird small but noticeable stutter everytime you take an AirPod out (again, mostly on windows but it did happen once on my phone after turning Automatic Ear Detection off.)
  3. I'm not sure if this is a consistent problem with anyone else, but it feels like sometimes one of the AirPods becomes more dominant than another, and most of the audio comes out of that one. Might be a placebo effect on me, but I just wanted to add that as I noticed it.
  4. I have encountered another issue where one of the AirPods will not go into transparency mode even when I turn it on, particularly my left one. I even try switch between modes again to see if it just glitched out when I switched, but no, it stays out of every mode. My left AirPod just won't switch into any form of ANC, and won't even play the noise that typically plays when they go into any form of ANC, only the right one will. This persisted even when I put the left one in the case and took it back out.
This year's Apple products have definitely been some of the messiest launches in recent memory for the company. The iPhone 14 Pro having major issues on launch, like the vibrating camera or the black screen when you try to transfer your data. I hope these are software issues and apple addresses them soon. I paid 267.49 dollars for these, as my original AirPods Pro developed the worst rattling issues in the world. For further reference, I am using Windows 10 21H2, which has AAC Bluetooth codec support, so I don't believe it's a mismatch in that sense.

New Apple are a calamity. Jobs would have had people executed by now.

It Just Might Work.

I have not had any of these problems. I wore them most of the day yesterday working in the yard, switching between music and podcasts, and ANC vs transparency. They seem much more polished than the original models... and the sound is clearer and fuller. Granted, my originals are coming up on the three-year mark and have started crackling a bit. (I'm heading to the Apple Store this week to see if they qualify for replacement.)

Anyone can test if with ANC on, on the new airpods pro gen 2, when going to make a recording (with the phone app) or starting a call, the anc mode bugs out and make like a echoey sound when you talk?
It is solved by turning it on and off during the call or recording, so I guess this is a software issue.
Could you guys try to reproduce this?
Thanks in advance

Seriously this has been an atrocious launch cycle of products….this is not the surprise and delight Apple anymore. It’s hope or pray your stuff works.
I see where you are coming from, but I’m not sure about that being a problem for me. I like being an early adopter specifically because there are these types of issues. Coming to forums like this builds a cool community of troubleshooters.

As stated in that thread, I personally only ever experienced this issue (with first-gen Pros) whilst also trialing an AirTag which is what ended up being the culprit of any signal interference. I wonder how many people complaining here also use AirTags? 🤔
It happens to me when I stop Runkeeper on my Apple Watch on both AirPod Pros 1 and 2. I’m a good half mile from my AirTags when this happens.

I've had issues with mine disconnecting also but only one bud. Placing them both back in the case and then taking them out again makes both work again. I suspect it'll be fixed with updates, not concerned.

It looks like the wise move with both the 14 Pro and AirPods Pro 2 is to wait a few months until Apple’s unofficial beta testing program with unsuspecting early adopters is completed by November or December.

I have this same disconnect issue with the current Airpods pro... Lets face it, QA on Apple products simply isn't very good. I've reported a bunch of issues in the developer bug tracker over the years, and its extremely rare they fix anything - I got tired of doing QA for them for free. (PS, the new Ventura MacOS bricked my iMac too... fun times)... In funny coincidence, my daughter is making "Dampfnudel" right now.... (user name posted before mine).

In that spirit, any idea how to recover a mac where the Ventura beta bricked it? Even recovery from another mac didn't work

Yes this has been happening to me on-and-off for a while now and the fix is exactly what you described. Really hope they figure it out, although apple support was completely useless on this issue so I'm not hopeful.

If you like buying products with issues to troubleshoot them, why not switch to Windows or Linux?

Might explain why when I was nearby someone else who was playing music from what I can only assume was their iPhone (speakers) while I was listening to an audio book through my APP 2s via my AppleWatch suddenly my book ceased and I was hearing music through my AirPods. I know it was that persons's music as when I took my AirPods out putting them into case I could hear that person's music and it was the same.

Just tried it sounded great. I've experience none of the problems watching a movie marathon last night till the AirPod Pros with my ATV until they were in the red on remaining charge. No dropouts, no static, no clicking with wonderful bass. Was like being in the theatre.

I’m Perry sure this is an iOS 16 thing. Ever since I upgraded I’ve had random pops and breaks in the audio with my AirPod’s Pro from last year.
I’ve had the same with some Jabra headsets and earbuds. Including one frustrating 10 mins where they were on, connected, showed up in everything as being played to but got no audio. Restarting the phone sorted it.

Oh wow…automatic switching getting a little excited there.

Everyone should be prepared for launch day products to be poo for a few days/weeks after launch. It is what it is. I now understand people who dont open their launch day devices till the first few bugs are sorted. Personally I can’t do that, kills all the excitement. Way to happiness is to accept sloppy QC from apple
But this has been happening on the original airpods pro for years.
