I have the pros & tapping doesn’t feel very good, especially with noise canceling on which seems to be pretty dangerous to me. I mentioned Siri as an alternative. I don’t use it myself but I know others that do. Hope you find an option that works for you.

but you wouldn't tap the pros, would you?.. i mean that doesn't work anymore, correct? you have to squeeze the stem now, yes?..
i'm leaning towards either getting gen 2 or holding out for gen 3 of the amateur ones)

That’s correct. I was referring to your response to my comment that stated I understand why they changed the function.

A lot of people are holding out to if a gen 3 is announced. Hopefully, Apple will announce it and give people options. One size doesn’t fit all.

totally. and i, for one, am perfectly happy with the way regular airpods fit/stay in my ears. the bad part is that my gen 1 is on its last leg...

For the 11. I always found the X to be too small for me, so it was either 11 or Pro Max. The 11 was the perfect size for me when I compared all three side by side (11, Pro and Pro Max). On top of that, I wanted the AirPods Pro.

iPhone 11 - $699 + $249 - 400 (Trade-In) = $548 plus taxes
iPhone Pro Max - $1099 + 249 - 400 (Trade-In) = $948 plus taxes

Yeah, I wanted to save that $400. Lol.

The XR/11 6.1" size seems good in my hands except instead I would have preferred the telephoto camera vice the ultra wide. Taking delivery of the APP soon.

i think you turned me away from these... i mistakenly assumed that the tap function will still be there. this is so dumb - i'm used to clumsily tapping these under hat, with gloves etc etc. if i can test them i will, but it seems like the pro is synonymous with inconvenient in this particular case...

Got my AirPods Pro. I can attest that squeeze vs tap is awful downgrade.

How it is easier? With tapping you can tap where ever you want... over clothes and hats with gloves on... squeeze requires you to squeeze specific place on earphone with specific rhythm. imo it's a step back in UX.
