Talk about a plan backfiring(to a certain extent). I bought these as soon as it went live and it just so happens my birthday is November 1st. In an effort to fan the flames of the wifey getting upset about how much these were I told her she didn’t have to worry about getting me a birthday gift since I got these. Well, she intercepted the UPS delivery guy today and is holding onto them until Friday. Guess I have to wait longer.

I have the Powerbeats Pro. They have an excellent soundstage, especially when used with an EQ app to raise the bass levels. Prior to getting them, I used the Powerbeats 3, which are definitely tuned for more bass output than the Pro, but lack the sound separation.

I went with the Powerbeats pro over the AirPods Pro . couldn't justify dropping the money on a 3rd generation AirPods. but maybe I should've I hate the way these Powerbeats sounds real thin and tiny.. what eq app did you use ?

Oh? The new AirPod pros have swappable tips but anything before now did not. So how can they swap out something that wasn't swappable until now?

recall these?

Picking mine up in Denver tonight!

I picked mine up tonight, and they’re just ok. The noise cancelling works pretty well, but the improvement in sound quality over my AirPods 2 is marginal, at best. I’m going to try them on a flight next week, and if the noise cancelling performs well on the plane, I’ll probably keep them. I wasn’t looking for audiophile quality, but I was hoping for something more with these.

But they don't get as loud as the 2nd gen Airpods, correct?

Honestly don‘t know - they cap the max loudness here in Europe anyway to prevent loss of hearing. But due to the good isolation and the noise cancelling feature, they really don‘t need to be as loud either

I think the sound quality is pretty good. Certainly as good as the AirPods, but with the noise cancellation on I think it’s better simply because there is less to distract you.

Oh yes the fit is much better. They just do not move at all. I’ve never had a problem with my AirPods, but could easily shake them out of my ears if I wanted to. I can’t do that at all with these. Gym people, runners etc will love them.

fit is great and I always have issues with silicone-cup earplugs. These don‘t hurt at all. Also, they don‘t make that thumping sound when walking around that most other sealed in-ear headphones do

I've used them today in the gym, which is pretty noisy. With the noise cancellation on, it certainly cut out all, or nearly all, of the gym noise, and I had the volume down a little as a result. That's really good actually!

Kinda want to buy them at Best Buy for my reward points, but they only have them for shipping at the moment. Not sure I have time to go to an Apple Store today...

Best Buy is no longer giving rewards points for Apple Products unless you pay for the item with your Best Buy credit card and do not choose special finance option.

Well, that's stupid. Sorry. Wearing hard gloves in the cold weather. Tap was way way better.

i think you turned me away from these... i mistakenly assumed that the tap function will still be there. this is so dumb - i'm used to clumsily tapping these under hat, with gloves etc etc. if i can test them i will, but it seems like the pro is synonymous with inconvenient in this particular case...

Tapping on a device that sits in your ear canal is dangerous & can cause damage due to the delicate nature of the ear. I totally understand why Apple changed that function. If it’s inconvenient for you, Siri is still an option.

light tapping, not whacking. i have tinnitus so am very well aware of how sensitive the ear is. tapping on your airpod is ok, trust me. and as far as siri - that is the most inconvenient option, thank you)))

My birthday is the 13th! My wife would never buy these for me, so if I buy them, I will just walk into the store and get them for myself.

I understand why they changed it to squeezing instead of tapping. I just tried to tap on Airpods Pro and it feels really unpleasant (there's a loud sound from tapping). Previous generations of Airpods didn't have the in-ear plugs and it wasn't a problem

ok, this i can go with :)
problem is, these so-called "pro" airpods are much more limited than the amateur ones when it comes to physical control...

I also prefer the previous experience. For me the squeezing function doesn't work 100% of the times. Feels kinda buggy

ugh. i haven't tested them yet, but at this point i'm almost certain i will pass on them. it's a shame apple didn't update the regular airpods alongside this release. i was hoping for a gen 3...

I have the pros & tapping doesn’t feel very good, especially with noise canceling on which seems to be pretty dangerous to me. I mentioned Siri as an alternative. I don’t use it myself but I know others that do. Hope you find an option that works for you.
