Samsung galaxy buds come to mind at $129(cheaper from other retailers). There's others.
But we don't know if tens of millions are willing to pay the price. They haven't even shipped. And there's all kinds of sales on the existing airpods bringing their price down to more reasonable.

I think it's the same thing, yes. But I can see how some would separate the two.

I would say ANY buds priced over $200 are overpriced. No matter who makes them. There comes a point where it's just not worth it, I don't care how much they pack in to them.
Even the $199 airpods with wireless charging are too much. Luckily you can find them on sale for $150 which I feel is maybe more reasonable for those.
Well the Samsung Galaxy buds don’t have active noise cancellation, so they’re really not the same features as AirPod Pro.

re: expensive vs. overpriced, there is a difference. Expensive is a neighborhood of $1,000,000 homes, that might take 4-6 weeks on the market before selling. Overpriced is the one listed for $1,100,000 that‘s been on the market for nine months and still hasn’t sold.

Things are worth what people are willing to pay. A $350,000 Ferrari is “worth it” if Ferrari is selling the quantity they expect to, at that price.

You might think any car over $50,000 is “overpriced”, but that’s not particularly relevant to Ferrari and the 3,000 buyers who bring them $1+ billion in revenue for that model.

Apple just slapping the word 'Pro' on Products now? It's the same exact H1 Chip in the previous model isnt it ? slight redesign and no substantial improvements when it comes to battery life .... Apple marketing is at it once again

same products, just better ads and monster marketing
Can someone please explain what is "PRO" about these?

So I guess the "Pro" suffix on Apple products no longer means "for the Professional".
I have an Oral B Pro toothbrush. Does that make me a dentist?

I can't stand the white color.

It's so impractical for everyday use. If you ever carried AirPods in your jeans pocket, you definitely noticed some of the blue dye transfer over to the AirPods case. Gloss white also shows scratches and marks right away. Not to mention the case yellows over time. I tried cleaning it with alcohol, but that never truly helped.

I'm sure casual users of AirPods may have never noticed these things, but if you're a heavy user, you definitely have.

I wish these came in black or any other darker color.

Looks cool for people in the market, but I don't like the sealed in-ear thing it makes me feel claustrophobic for lack of a better explanation

The Pro moniker also makes zero sense here, but thats to be expected

Where are the black ones?!?

learn what PRO means for Apple and stop cry like a teenager for years now

interesting, but unfortunately the battery life isn't long enough for a road warrior. 4-5 hours isn't long enough for most travel days....assuming it really is that long in the real world. Will have to stick with my wired Bose nc earbuds for now.

No colours is disappointing but the current airpods are still white only. Its good for brand recognition in the wild.

Pro. Laughable. Higher tech shouldn’t cost more money. Pro should not mean “more advanced technology.” I shouldn’t have to pay more for a house with more bathrooms or heated floors.

I'm baffled by this statement. So you think a loaded Mercedes should be priced the same as a base model Hyundai? You shouldn't have to pay more for an obviously bigger house with luxury features?

What insane asylum are you posting from?

I’m excited that I’ll finally (almost certainly) be able to use AirPods! The original EarPods and AirPods never fit my small ear canals.

My JayBird Runs are great for music, but not for video, which is a compromise I had to make to get something that fit and didn’t fall out.

Now I can try these AirPods and finally not have to compromise.

$249?!?!?!
yeah wow, nobody makes a $249 set of wireless earbuds with auto tuning and ANC. I mean most earphones are like 3 for $10 or something. Well, it may be a lot for you, or you may have found much cheaper ones that you are happy with, but there are plenty that cost much more as well.

I see people on the subway with music blaring from these things. I value my hearing.
Strangely enough, it’s usually due to them trying to drown out the background noise. With ANC, that means the audio can be kept at a normal level. Anyone that values their hearing would actually be better off using something with noice cancellation features than not.

Nope, that makes that Oral B toothbrush the best of its own class, in Apple terms
Lets stop with this nonsense
Pro or professional can be just an person/player/human being etc, not a device. Pro on a device means that its the best of his own class, that all

Taxes are really very high here, and, although not Apple’s fault, it makes the price of their products absolutely ridiculous.

As for Apple not being able to do anything, well, that is debatable. Samsung’s Galaxy Buds cost 175 dollars here, while it sells for 129 dollars in the U.S. And it can be found even cheaper at some stores.

Smartphones are an even better example. The iPhone 11 costs 1,250 dollars here (up from 700 in the U.S.). The Samsung S10 Plus can be found for as low as 850 dollars. Other manufacturers do the same: Asus has just launched the ROG II phone for 1,125 dollars here (up from 900 in the U.S.).

If Samsung and others can price its products in Brazil for less than double it costs in the U.S., why can’t Apple?
In most countries Apple’s prices are very close to the price we pay here in the states. Exceptions include countries where the currency is unstable and is expected to lose value, and where taxes are included in the selling price.

I don’t know why prices for the AirPod Pro are so high, if you contact Apple they can probably answer that question.

Why is noise cancellation so battery draining?

"When Noise Cancellation is active, ‌AirPods Pro‌ offer up to four and a half hours of listening time and three and a half hours of talk time."

This makes the device a non-starter for me. Perhaps all plugs are this way, and I'll have to stick to headphones, or decide which sound cancelling plugs are easiest to hack into usability.

Apple doesn’t have to subsidize countries with high tariffs on imported goods (neither does any company). Moreover, the country you live in is such an incredibly small market that manufacturing there, the way Apple does with India, is not worth the start-up cost.

If you have family in the States or Canada, have them ship it to you. Otherwise, Miami is a great city. Lots of people from Latin America travel there once a year just for shopping.

Yes, $50 more than the current ones with the qi charging case. And those are still priced too high. They should have just completely replaced the other models with this one in their price slot.
I'd like to see these down at a more competitive $150 price point.
People thought the AirPods were priced out of their own market when they were first announced in the fall of 2016. Apple has had no trouble selling the first-/second-generation AirPods at $159 and $199. So, why drop the price if they’re still selling like hotcakes?

That’s...a half-hour less than what they get with ANC off.

Damn you Apple! My Bose SoundSports are on their last legs, down to a couple of hours of battery life. I've been forcing myself to hold on to my money until someone releases wireless, in-ear, noise-cancelling earbuds that are water-resistant. I thought I had a year or so.

Damn, damn, damn you Apple!

What? Of course you would pay more for that. Unless you forgot your sarcasm tag.

ok, now i'd like to see them in person, cause they look ugly in the video...

and of course there isn't a 3rd gen of regular amateur airpods along side of this... crap
They sit in your ear to use. Or are you gonna hold them in your hand and show them off? lmao
