I'm surprised these new AirPods were announced! especially since there was no event. My only question is, how good the active noise cancelation will be? i have the second gen AirPods and i'm really tempted by these since i use my AirPods most of the day, everyday.

Yeah, this “pro” thing has officially jumped the shark. Calling an iphone “pro” was one thing. But ear buds? I still love ya Apple. But this is a pretty lame attempt to jack up the price.
For Apple Pro can mean a little bit better and more expensive. It doesn’t always mean for professional use.

I have a feeling the noise cancellation will be pretty good, if I was using my AirPods most of the day/every day like you, I would buy these straight away

keynotes seem overrated with the Tim era, it was entertaining with Steve. Tim does not feel comfortable on stage and all the hype is just that a joke when it’s keynote time. These press releases with instant order is where Apple should head in the future.

Well perhaps it wasn't the most perfect use of the word but I was mentioning relative value to the USA (English isn't my mother tongue so please excuse me).

Apple usually doesn't price stuff in euros according to the exchange rate and sometimes the difference isn't some honest security margin.

This is one of the few times were you take the price in USD, google the exchange rate, add VAT and it gives you almost the exact price in Euros. If you take in account that Apple likes prices ending in 9s it is a perfect conversion.

Are you adding sales tax, and taking into account that Apple is a US based company.

Presumably if you sold a product, it would be cheaper to sell in your country, than sell abroad?

I know. Exactly. It kinda dilutes the meaning of the word pro. Ultimately i don’t care. Just seems silly.

Ordered these just now. Really bummed about the lack of colors but still a welcome upgrade from my 1st gen AirPods.

Very stoked.

There are times with my current AirPods that i think noise cancelling would be awesome (for example people in the house when i'm trying to work, cars driving past and so on). I'm sure i also read that the sound is improved as well, as far as i'm concerned the current 2nd gen Aipods sound great with the music i stream from Apple Music.

I'm definitely looking at the Aipod Pros thinking i should order them, even tho i brought the 2nd gen when they were announced. I know wish i had waited for these.

I don't care what they call it.

But I can certainly find more than $49 worth of upgrades here. Without even trying that hard.

no i agree. But i remember a time when apple would just add these kind of upgrades with each update to their devices And the price stayed relatively the same. The word “pro” is being used now just to justify a higher price. It’s a very sly move on Apple’s part. I totally get it. But i also find it kind of annoying. This new sales strategy. But hey, it is what it is. Me personally, i am going for the power beat pros for the longer batt life.

i do think Apple should have Made the new air pod pros in multiple colors tho. To match the diff color iphone pros. i don’t know why they are so resistant to add color to the air pods.

Some keynotes are better than others, for example i really liked the September one with the iPhone 11 announcement. I'm just surprised Apple decided to release these via a press release rather than announce alongside the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro.

Maybe more products are coming, maybe the tile tracker tomorrow and the rumoured 16" MacBook Pro on Wednesday. Drop a product or two every day for the rest of the week, like they did earlier in the year.

In my case, the original AirPods design fit my ear perfectly so I'm not sure whether or not it would be worth it to buy these.

...

Anybody in the same boat? I'd love the active noise cancelling but I honestly feel like I'd end up not liking the tips.

Same here, the original AirPods are a great fit for me. But I had to buy them to see how the fit was, and it's no different with the AirPods Pro. Will find out soon enough.

if the forum is a miserable place why read or post on it. Read the article and leave, comment if you want, why are people making this personal.

I don't spend as much here as I used to...I have a few people I enjoy interacting with and I try to help with some problems others have and their recommendations. I shouldn't waste my time arguing with people about things, and that's on me to just let it go and move on. I do my best to hit Ignore on those I don't want to read their posts and I report those who are abusive.

Also, why should I have to leave because others cannot be civilized to one another?

Hopefully the new ones will be easier to clean as well....ear wax is a pain to get rid of on the current ones.

EVERY SINGLE TIME Apple releases new headphones there are rumors of colors. They are ALWAYS wrong. The white color of Apple earbuds and AirPods are the most iconic thing in the world, it screams to the world about how popular Apple products are when you see a pair in someone's ears... companies would DIE to have that kind of branding... so why would Apple make their headphones in new colors so people have a more difficult time telling who is using an Apple product? These are wishes and fever dreams of folks and nothing more... white is the color of Apple branded products that go on or in your ears.
Get off the kool-aid...
