I don't understand the complaints here. People really don't understand what true active noise cancellation is.

Yes they cost $249. Pretty much every active noise cancellation device costs in the $200-300 range and some higher than $300. This is priced accordingly.

Battery life is lousy. What did you expect? Noise cancellation requires battery to properly power. Why do you think many current noise cancellation earbuds have neck bands? (ie: Bose qc30) The battery hides in the neck band so you can get longer battery. Where do you think Apple can place a larger battery to power these without a neck band?

These were an instant buy for me but I will probably still supplement them with my Bose qc30s. There are times the qc30s win. If i want to temp take an earbud out to talk to somebody it's easy when they are attached to a neck band (let them hang). Battery life is obviously better so great on the airplane. The qc30 microphone fails miserably though, absolutely useless when trying to make a phone call (other party can't hear you in a noisy environment).

We will see.

Other prettier wireless buds do not have that stem - and they actually sound better than apple’s AirPod with stems. I think the stems are just a trademark for apple. Extra douche mode and instantly identifiable you are a rich dumb douche perhaps.

Good Looking AirPods! The only reason I returned mine (version 1) was because that they kept falling out of my ears. I am a tall guy with larger ears, so that was probably the reason why. Now maybe going to give it another go! But I am disappointed that they cost €279 (US$309) in The Netherlands. Very expensive.

People complain about the stem but I don't mind it, they look less like hearing aides. Plenty of clones out so having a stem doesn't have anything to do with status lmao. WTF

If it has an apple logo, the reviews will be glowing with amazement. Look at the current airpods they are terrible in fitment department and the sounds are just awful.
If they fit your ears badly, they sound bad. If they fit well, they sound good.

They clearly fit many people’s ears well but I concur that the concept “one size fits all” doesn’t really work with earbuds.

I ordered and cancelled a few minutes later. Just doesn't feel like enough to upgrade from my Gen 1's just yet. I will wait to see/hear for myself.

Yeah, it's an actual issue for those who make the trip,

I'll likely stick with my regular airpods for the time I"m traveling but not on the plane, then switch to the bose when I get settled. That's working well. It'd be nice to have a single set, but then again this way I have some redundancy, and more importantly, I have one set that I can charge while listening.

Preordered, than cancelled 40 min later. I want AirPods because I haven't yet experienced their magic, and I'd prefer these new ones due to better sound quality, fit, and noise cancellation. I spent $30 on my current earbuds, and they work fine. They're not the most convenient to connect or charge, but the convenience isn't worth $220 more for me. I think I might be more willing to try these if I hadn't recently purchased an Apple Watch that I regret getting. I also have a dedicated headphones setup at home for when I desire really high quality sound. For being on the go, my cheap earbuds work fine.

I'd honestly give it a go with Apple's generous 14 day return policy. You have a XS Max but pairing it with cheap $30 headphones. I was also a firm believer in not needing wireless earphones but after trying the AirPods out and their magical "it just works" connectivity, you really can't go back to wired. The best way to describe it is the way Apple handles their ease of use on an iPhone and an Apple Watch, but transferred to the headphone genre.

Yeah, this “pro” thing has officially jumped the shark. Calling an iphone “pro” was one thing. But ear buds? I still love ya Apple. But this is a pretty lame attempt to jack up the price.

Nope.

Could you have been more wrong if you tried? I don't think so.

Apple did an extensive study of ears to produce EarPods, landing on design that was definitively "1-size-fits-most". Not all, most. All would be impossible. But since Apple was including EarPods with hundreds of millions of devices, it made sense.

Apple used the same design principle to make AirPods, and they've been a runaway success. The sound quality is "good" which means good enough for almost everyone.

These new ones address everything that the current ones do not. The flexible silicon tips are the well-established means of creating a 1-size-fits-all ear bud, and these have also been engineered for greatly-improved sound.

It’s macrumors, they have to have something to bitch about. Wait until the MacBook Pro 16” or the Mac Pro drops, and count backwards from 10 and you’ll see negative comment after negative comment. It’s the most miserable place on earth, except maybe for slashdot or dark horizons.

I don't care what they call it.

But I can certainly find more than $49 worth of upgrades here. Without even trying that hard.

Since when are these $149 (or $159 which is what I actually meant in that earlier post)? I clearly wasn't referring to the AirPods Pro, but rather the normal AirPods which cost $159.

APP $249 USD, this thread is concerning APP please stick to the topic at hand. If you cannot afford any AP or APP that is fine there are other BT options in a variety of price range. I have had BT for $10 USD and upwards of the recent $249 USD order, you don’t see me complaining.
I can not afford a Porsche 911, but you don’t see me complaining about the price or envying others who can.

So who is getting AppleCare+ with their new AirPods Pro?

AC+ is kinda pointless if you loose either bud or both.

No black, no purchase.

For now I'll tough it out with the longest running BT buds I've ever used, 14hours, and seamless use of L or R or both as needed. Creative Outlier's.

No grubby white, ever.

if the forum is a miserable place why read or post on it. Read the article and leave, comment if you want, why are people making this personal.
