I am glad these are finally out so I can buy the non pro models and feel less ripped off. I was expecting the pros to be around $50 more but today i was reminded the company is apple.
But they are indeed $50 more than the non-pro model with wireless charging at $199. You can't really compare them with the none wireless charging model

Apple uses the "Pro" nomenclature for the "Professional" version of their products where multiple versions are available. What's so difficult to understand?

Now.. if you don't feel the "Pro" designation is justified, that is up to you, I'm fine with it

Can someone please explain what is "PRO" about these?

I think the Pro name has long meant extra features over a more basic model. Whether or not that equates a professional level device seems to remain a matter of endless debate.

Is the term overused? Yes. However, if a professional athlete buys these headphones and uses them while training can you argue it's not "Pro"? If so, is that because you can order a pair and sit in your bubble bath, eating chips while posting on macrumors? o_O

We should all just take the Pro name for what it is: The "better" version.

Five minutes is like an eternity by the time you tried to order these, some members already had their orders in within 30 seconds. These will push well past November for order times by the end of the day.
I woke up to this news in Japan at 6 am, saw the email from Apple, placed order, November 4 delivery, so not so bad considering the time lag from the announcement to placing the order.

Clear version looks bada**.

Jabra's DO have NC. They also have hear through if/when you need it (talking about the Active 65t model). I love mine.

Which model of Jabra ear buds have noise cancelling? None of the ones I see have this noted as a feature.

Thanks

But you won't be able to brag over and over again to your annoyed friends who could care less, about your new little Apple toy!!! Honestly, I'm with you, I got a great discount on the PowerBeats Pro and am more than satisfied with them. Not to mention the battery life of the PBP compared to the abysmal battery life of the APP, its a no brainer. People gotta feel special somehow though...

Yeah, kind of like those people that bash products and the people that use them in a desperate attempt to seem edgy and get 'likes' on a forum. They gotta feel special somehow.

Aw man! I was just about convinced on getting the beats pros. Now this. Still might for the battery life. But pass through audio is tempting. Plus the ability to actually fit them in your pocket.

🤨
I know what you mean, but then I moved to a country where that's not an issue. I have never once, in fifteen years, felt unsafe or nervous on any street, in any dark alley, in any state of sobriety, here in Tokyo. That said, I'm more visually aware of my surroundings when I'm wearing headphones, but that's true whether they have ANC or not.

Anyway, I'm sick to death of hearing other people's conversations. Between that, and the noise of the trains in Tokyo, ANC is an absolute MUST for me.

Especially the train noise. Until you've lived in the Tokyo environment people have no idea how useful good IEM's and ANC like my Sony WF1000XM3's are here. Worth their weight in gold. I don't live here but visit 6-10 times a year.

250 dollars for a pair of earphones which in a couple of years won't hold an hour's of charge...thanks but not doing the same mistake again..

If I don’t like them, I’ll return them. I’m sure I’ll keep them, these will address my main issue with AirPods, lack of noise isolation/cancellation.

95% of their usage will be for podcasts and calls, for which any AirPods are better than adequate in sound quality terms. Rarely listen to music outside of gym (where I don’t use AirPods) and at home via a quality sound system.

Price is price, if you don’t like it, don’t buy them. Moaning about the price of Apple gear is as redundant as moaning about the Pro naming, it’s been done a million times and is so very very boring.

So you have not one offered single reason for buying these within a minute of discovering they were available? You don’t care about sound quality (

I think it’s fair to say we “understand” Pro = Professional....but what is that supposed to mean? Are AirPod Pro Models for professional earbud wearers?

For those ppl bitching about price, you can always go with Sennheisers for like $349 or idk with B&O Beoplays for $299.

These are ****ing bargain. Like the first gens were, 1.5 too.

I pre-ordered Airpods pro and returned my 2 week old Powerbeats pro. Rolling the dice that they sound better than beats and don’t fall out of my ears like my current Airpods.

....how do you know they’re a bargain, you haven’t heard them or have any idea how good the noise cancelling is. The first gen represented total extortion given the terrible sound quality v/v cost.

Glad I bought my Marshall Bluetooth Monitor cans . Battery life is 30 hours, and the sound quality is delicious. I can charge them up for a week long vacation, and pretty much leave all the cables at home. And you can get 'em on sale for $130 on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. :)

So wireless and wired charging? Is that true for the non-pro wireless case too?

I‘ve no interest in carrying charging pads around...
