Said it before, but will say it again: I am actively avoiding this product due to the rubber tips. Not only are they less comfortable (in my opinion), but they are also a removable part that could easily fall off. The replacement tips are likely to be quite costly, relatively speaking, and they don’t even seem to be available at this time.

Apple, I beg you, please bring noise cancellation technology to the original AirPods design.

I really think these should have been called AirPods Sport, not Pro.
Sport? Because of rubber tips? Doesn’t work for me. These are named as such because of the ANC putting them at the top of the AirPod family pile.

Par for the course Apple pays no mind to the social implications of the products they’re putting out there. The number of deaths and vehicular accidents caused by folks wearing these will be astonishing in its scope.

Then I saw these can run in both noise canceling and non-noise canceling mode, and I'm intrigued.
I had a pair of Etymotics some time back that had an app that could listen through the microphone and bleed in the outside sound when it passed a user-specified level. That was pretty cool. I've been saying for a while that Apple should/could do something similar with next gen AirPods that more thoroughly blocked outside sound. Looks like they did!

Delivery date Halloween 🎃 I’ve been waiting for AirPods with NC for quite some time - these will be awesome at the gym and for listening to podcasts while walking outside close to traffic.

Are they also responsible for people using their iphone at the wheel or while walking into the road, paying no mind to their surroundings?

Whining about the use of the word “Pro” is as irritating as constantly reading people moaning about there being no headphone jack on every

It’s your opinion that I am whining. I was merely voicing my opinion. One could argue that whining about whining is just as bad. :p

Yes, Sport because of the rubber tips and improved water resistance. I am not alone in thinking that the Pro moniker does not describe these, despite ANC. Again, not all ‘Pros’ want rubber tips. Agreed that Sport doesn’t describe it either. Ultimately it’s semantics, but my main point is that rubber tips are not for everyone, and can even be seen as a cheap design decision by some (including myself).

Sorry, that post double posted while I quoted you, my error. I wasn’t suggesting you were whining. It was a general comment I made on the previous page towards those that keep mentioning their beef with the use of “Pro”.

Pro just marks these as the top tier spot in the current AirPod family. That’s really it.

If any earphone would be sport it’s the Powerbeats Pro.

I’m a heavy sweater, killed a lot of “amazon” sweat proof Bluetooth earbuds, and have taken my AirPods into the sauna with no issues.

I have never had a problem with my AirPods as well and I use them every day at the gym. They have some resistance for sure (even though they are not certified), as Apple would expect people to exercise with them.

Ah okay, my misunderstanding. Ultimately I should probably refrain from my disdain of rubber tips until I get a chance to try these myself. I’m not sure I’ll order, I am not one to take advantage of a return policy window, but if I get a wild hair after watching some positive reviews I may be open to trying it. Perhaps my opinion will evolve.

According to Apple, these rubber tips will be more comfortable than any other one available in the market. I hope so, as I usually find rubber tips awful. But I will only believe when I try them.

They’re “magical”. Maybe made from unicorns?

Why is this apples problem? People have been wearing headphones while driving wayyyy before airpods. This isnt apples fault. Blame the stupid people

People said, "no, no, a virtual keyboard on the iPhone is rookie mistake on Apple's part - people have tried before, those never work, everyone knows you need a physical keyboard"... cut to today and you can't find a smartphone with a physical keyboard any more. Apple has pulled that off enough times that I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, at least until I get to try them myself.

I've seen people watching a video on a dash-mounted phone while driving. I suppose this is because Apple made the iPhone and not because people are morons.

Oh - I see you missed the part about how their "...built-in Transparency mode offers users the option to listen to music while still hearing the environment around them, for situations like biking in traffic or listening for an important train message "

Got mine in with an October 31 delivery date. I had the OG AirPods, but I had been using the old wired in ear headphones that Apple sold for loud environments like airplanes. Now I can finally retire those guys, and those only had passive noise cancellation. ANR plus the silicon tips will be great. Should be a big improvement for myself at the gym, work, and airplanes.

The transparency mode is interesting. I wonder if it will feel natural or weird.

Just ordered! Pretty excited by these as I think the AirPods are the best product Apple has released in the past 3 years (if they fit your ears).

Hopefully these will give a decent sound stage and we'll finally get the almost perfect allrounder earphones for Apple users that addresses the shortcomings of the AirPods - sound quality and outside noise.

different colours and better design would be a bonus, but those aren't overly important to me personally.

reading through this thread there are some very, very odd posts... I guess Halloween is upon us!

Personal Responsibility should be learned. I can kill someone by buying a 5 gallon water jug and waterboarding someone. Does this mean that water companies like Perrier are responsible?
