To those complaining about the cost. I've had my original AirPods since the 2nd February 2017 which is 999 days. I paid £159 for them and I genuinely use them every single day. That means they've cost me 15.9p per day.
Assuming I keep these new ones for the same amount of time, that means they'll cost me 24.9p per day. I'm not upset about that.

You're right - - it's a simple calculation. They're either worth it to you or they aren't. There's no need to swoon every time one sees the retail price.

None of those have ANC. You should be comparing them to the non-pro AirPods. If anything your examples show how well apple’s pricing matches their competitors!

Agreed on the MBP - I'm really really curious to see about the keyboard situation..

I don't really know if I want the AirPodPro's or not yet..

I need to see some reviews in the weeks ahead (and not from "in the bag homers" like Rene Ritchie - useless fanboy crap from him and the like) and maybe try them this holiday season with the generous return window.

I'd also ultimately love to catch a sale on eBay/BB/Costco or similar if I decide they are something I want.

The price is hard to swallow (for me).

My Gen1 AirPods are bordering on useless at this point for battery life. Those were like $150-160? It's hard to get excited about TWO fifty + tax and them being useless garbage after 2-3 years (max).

Yes will be interesting to compare these. Note the Sony are not water resistant so no good for the gym.

Yep, mine went from preparing to ship last night and delivery on 10/31 to shipped and delivering on 10/20/19 as well they obviously had them at regional areas ready to ship.

I would've expected you to use your water utility in this example. Would you use Perrier water if you had to waterboard someone? If so, you're giving them the Pro version of waterboarding!

You can use Hey, Siri to set the volume to some numerical value OR simply turn up or down. Question though, if you don’t have your phone or watch, what are you listening to?

True, I guess that's something. With my AirPods v1 I couldn't do that.

I do use my phone to listen to music, but when biking / running it would be much nicer to not have to reach to my pocket to adjust the volume. I would imagine the AirPods handling swipe up / down gestures on them for that. Maybe in the v2. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The price of a PS4. A car payment. Depending on your family size, 2 weeks' worth of groceries.

THIS RIGHT HERE is why Apple removed the headphone jack from their phones.

Not innovation (although these are innovative).

Not for lack of space.

And DEFINITELY not for "pushing technology forward".

But in hindsight, I have to give them props:

I was wrong. They really did have "courage". The courage take prices into the stratosphere with a straight face.

And I was wrong about Tim Cook too.

He is a legitimate genius. He IS doing an incredible job.

And it burns 'cause I'm the mouse in the mousetrap. Desperately wanting to get away, but unable to resist the cheese 'cause it's so DAMN delicious.

Part of the problem is that most of the alternatives are so darn bad by comparison. Windows 10? Hell no. Android? Hell no. Even though Tim Apple is making it tougher to justify sticking with Apple, where else is there to go at this time?
