In Canada, the regular AirPods with wireless charging case are $269.00 plus tax. I’m sure that will make the new ones nearly $399.00 plus tax.

That’s pretty hard to justify for headphones, regardless of who they are made by...

Mind you, these are made by Apple, so price is basically irrelevant for most people.

just when we thought the label "pro" had reached a new low, we get these to lower the bar even further

It's interesting that some people are still struggling with this advertising moniker. Understand that "pro" has always been used by Apple and every other business not only for "professionals" but for the upper end of things, so it's not an issue that most people are confused about. Since a few people still have a hard time with it, Phil Schiller even took time out at the last keynote to point out that Apple uses "pro" to mean something that professionals or people who appreciate the top in technology would be interested in.

Hopefully, that clears that up for the few folks who maybe thought they weren't allowed to buy a product unless they intended to use it in their "professional" lives.

Hopefully they'll finally have a rubber earpiece that will offer more comfort and prevent them from coming out so easily... kind of like my $10 amazon headphones have had for 15 years. Nothing like shoving a hard piece of non-ergonomic plastic in your ear. "These hurt like heck, but I'm gonna look really cool wearing them". I realize they work with some people but AirPods don't work for everyone.

You seem to be confusing AirPods and Earbuds with "in ear" types. Apple made the AirPods and Earbuds to be quite distinct from the "in ear" or "in canal" type that you seem to prefer. If you are looking for an "in ear" model from Apple you should try the new PowerBeats Pro which have had great reviews.

I think these kind of products should be made also in color of human skin..black for black people, goldish for asian people and so on..just to blend in

I‘m so white I’m transparent. 👻 What‘s in store for me?

I have a feeling white will remain the top seller even among people who previously mocked it(me). White has remains so iconic.

Yep that’s why I’m getting midnight green.

Here's a novel idea. Instead of creating eight different colors, how about designing a pair that lasts longer than a year without needing to be replaced because it can't hold a charge for longer than 30 minutes.

What’s making you lean towards the Powerbeats Pro? I’m on the fence between the two and would love to hear thoughts! :)

battery life and staying on the ear during physical activity. I just want to wait and see how the new apple pro airpods compare in these two ways before i decide.

Those come free included with the purchase of iPhone.

It’ll be hard for me to justify the short lifespan of the product (~2 years of good battery) to pay $270+ for these....

Same here. How hard could it be to design these so that the battery can be replaced? Just put nothing but battery in the stems and allowed the stems to screw off and on to replace the battery. Apple's propaganda about being a green company is nonsense.

If Apple can recycle the **** out of their products they're green af.

Do you guys think the tip that goes into the ear on these new AirPods is made of rubber just like prior noise canceling earbuds used to have for the past 10 years? These rubber ear vacuuming tips are ear wax magnets and I hope apple’s noise canceling approach is different

Even the old air pods are lasting me all week easily...not sure the issue battery life wise

Which similar headphones have little screws? Going green is not a yes or no proposition and one thing doesn’t invalidate the work and there may be reasons for certain designs.

As someone else said, it’s about thousands of charge cycles on a battery the size of a tic-tac.

Won't happen. Full stop.

I’d say you’re right to an extent, Apple won’t start making AirPods colors specific to the latest iPhones (I.e. Green, silver). This article is pretty much bogus for the most part, but, I do think they will offer one alternative color in the future, which is probably black or maybe a space gray.

I'm using green iPhone 11 Pro but might get the black AirPods Pro. I know I'll never get a white or gold iPhone and black will go with black iPhones I get in the future.

Im torn here. My AirPods fit me perfectly and there really isn’t anything I don’t like about them. I use them every day. Ok, I love them. I said it. And I’ve had a million different in ear headphones and I’ve always hated the rubber tips. But with all the said I know I will be preordering these the second they go live.
